YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH about ZUMA!!Food is tasteless. Building it rests in is nice but the restaurant that sits inside this buildings is horrible. service is horrendous- when I say horrendous, I swear to u it is absolutley horrendous. U will read this and b like blah blah, " I heard its the place to be etc" u can pay a good PR firm to make it be all smoke and mirrors. That is all it is. Smoke and mirrors. they will tell you they can accomidate you but you will show up and you will wait much longer then an hour...even if u have a reservation. They will try to milk your bill at the bar while you get restless waiting for a table that they will keep telling u will be coming up shortly. Its not that its not right, its Abusive- and my fish was cold when it came and the pork was not even cooked properly. Go to phillipe they actually know how to treat people. if u r looking for a place to go to with a girl, def not the spot to impress her, if your going with a family- uyvey- and u can tell that reed guy who works at the front desk that he should be lucky after he gets fired that he can get a job at mcdonalds. GO to phillipe, mr chow, prime 112, prime italian... A real restaurant business that knows how to accomidate there customers and sell a product that u will remember. ZUMA SUCKS.

turned away twice at the door. I live a few buildings down, same game both times I tried to eat there mid week at 6:30ish pm. Its either the stroller with the baby or the sneakers that I was wearing (which was the door persons excuse the first time for not having any space). Attempted to go to dinner again last night place was very empty, it was of course 6:30 on a wed night. Door person only stopped myself and my wife pushing the stroller. Same exact thing happened as first time we were turned away, "let me see if we have reservations available, guy goes inside for a few minutes and comes out and says, sorry nothing available will be at least a 45 minute wait." Meanwhile its 6:30 and the restaurant was empty. Walked across to Cipriani were seated immediately also in a mostly empty restaurant and had a phenomenal meal. Food may or may not be good, just dont like the screening process for allowing people in, both times my wife, the stroller and I were the ONLY people stopped at the door, everyone else freely walked in and out without being questioned about a reservation. Very insulting way of doing business.

We made reservations for a party of 25, and we met with a Zuma representative in person. We agreed on a set time frame, and we were not told that there would be a set menu or a minimum charge. One week later, we received a phone call from the reservations manager who informed us they were changing our time and that we need to start and finish earlier so that they could accommodate another party after us. We were then told that we must adhere to a price fixe menu at $95/person and a $3,000 minimum charge. No matter how much we begged and pleaded, they would not agree to our original time frame and prices from their menu. Now we need to start all over and find somewhere else for our event even after weve sent out invitations. This place may look great and have good food, but beware their employees who tell you one thing and then do whats best for them in the end. Thanks for nothing, Zuma. PS The 100 foot yacht always parked out back sort of blocks the view of the Miami River. You might want to do something about this, too.

Zuma is the American outpost of Chef Rainer Beckers internationally acclaimed, modernized adaptation of Japanese izakaya-style cuisine—there are other Zuma restaurants in London, Hong Kong, New York, Dubai, Istanbul, and Bangkok—with a stunning, pristine modern interior design to match the menu. (Note: While traditional izakayas are informal, Zuma requires a “smart casual” dress code—no shorts or beachwear allowed). From the sushi bar to the robata grill, the dishes on offer are not your average teriyaki-smothered fare; rather, you’ll find kurobuta pork belly skewers with yuzu mustard miso, a roster of tempura-fried snackables, plus exquisite signature dishes with elaborate flavor profiles like roasted lobster with shizo-ponzu butter, and black cod marinated in saikyo miso with homemade hajikame. Keeping with at least one element of the izakaya tradition, most of their signature dishes are designed to be shared.

Terrible service. Made a reservation, showed up 15 mins early and was told we werent on the "list". She took our phone number and said we could wait for a table. We waited at area 32 upstairs for 45mins, no call. We went back downstairs and the hostess stand had no idea who we were and no idea our name was to be called when the next available table was available. We then waited 30 more mins at there bar, went back to the hostess and was told they have had tables outside the entire time but apologize because they forgot to offer that to us. We then sat outside, no server came by for at least ten minutes, we put in our drink order waited 10 mins and no one came back so we got up left. We went to get our card and was told it would be 30mins for valet to retrieve our vehicle after paying $20 for parking. Terrible service. The food was outstanding the last time I was able to get served, too bad.

Really horrible experience with customer service. This is someplace we love to eat at, but would think long and hard if we considered it again. The food was the only redeeming thing. Service was slow and inattentive. Wine took forever even at $24/glass! The waitress essentially ignored us. Food was slow. We even kept a menu and explained we were hungry and would order more. When we were ready to order more, we were informed the kitchen was closed. We then asked for the check which again took forever. I notice the waitress speaking to a man in a suit. Upon leaving I asked to see the manager. Guess what? It was the man she spoke to earlier who did not feel compelled enough to come to our table to apologize for the poor service. POOR, POOR, POOR recovery and overall service. One would expect a great deal more from a restaurant with such a high profile!

We had made reservations at 9 on a Thursday but arrived a little early so we went to the bar. The restaurant was already packed by then and not a free seat at the bar. Nonetheless the bartenders were attentive and we were still able to order cocktails. We had a "Kentucky Samurai" and "Bloody Roots" both were delicious but I really enjoyed the Bloody Roots. We were called to our table within 10 minutes of our reserved time. The service was professional, attentive and helpful. We enjoyed a 1/2 bottle of Nine Dragons Sake and shared plates including the Tiger Prawn, Sea bass sashimi, seared foie gras and O Toro. Everything was excellent and very fresh. I would like to come back and try their brunch. Also, most people the night I was there were wearing casual nice, jeans and a nice top would be fine but of course in Miami you always have people dressed to the nines.
