We had a very pushy server and didnt get to try the things we actually wanted. My fiance and I went here to celebrate our move to Winston-Salem, and this place was highly recommended. However, when we sat down and started looking at the menu (which looked great), our server came and literally snatched my menu out of my hands and told us he knew the menu better than us—which is true, but we wanted to choose our own meal. He asked us if we liked sushi, then told us hed bring something wed like. We were bewildered by this, but the entire meal proceeded this way-- while we were eating, hed ask if we liked tuna, and then told us hed bring us something else. We probably should have stood up for ourselves and said, "no," but we felt really pressured. We ended up with multiple rolls we didnt really care for, and spent a lot more than we planned to spend. Ive never had such an odd restaurant experience in my life, especially with a place that came so highly recommended, but we definitely wont be back.

Weve been waiting for awhile for this place to open and werent disappointed. Its conveniently located, gorgeously decorated and the food we ordered was beautiful to look at and tasted divine. We always try out new places to eat to find our spot or go to when we feel like treating ourselves. I think weve found it. The squid salad was the best Ive ever tasted. We had two drinks, a 300ml bottle of sake (that we actually liked!), two squid salads and the sweet heart roll (which is filling itself) for only $31. Next time were going to try the hibachi menu. The service was on point and the prices are really good for the food quality. Actually, theyre a steal for the quality of food and service we received. After one visit weve decided to try and frequent the place as often as our schedules and tummies will allow.

We chose "on the road" and the expectations were confirmed. The place was busy but we were seated immediately. The staff was attentive and extremely kind. We had delicious gyoza and an home made springroll, the best we ever had. My boyfriend has fish allergy so he ordered yaky udon with chicken and veggies: those were AWESOME...so tasty and well cooked. I had a sashimi dinner that was superfresh and I loved the perfect combination of fish that the chef made for me. Great dinner, I extremely recommend this place.

Really wanted to love this place as we heard good things. Even the green tea was off, very bitter. Seaweed rolls was very tough/chewy and all the rolls fell apart when touched. One of my rolls was full of honey and oddly super sweet. One of my husbands tuna rolls was chopped up mashed up bits of a tuna scrap. Great service and nice people. Maybe the cooked food is better but sushi -- no.

Mizu has the most unique specialty sushi rolls! One of my favorites is topped with scallops and a delightfully creamy sauce, then baked in a toaster oven. Its absolutely heavenly! Another one of my favorite rolls at Mizu is their fruit & vegetable roll! This place is by far my favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem, truly a must for any tourist (or local)!!

Excellent place. Good food at great prices! Great, friendly service! Wife and I had the Tempura shrimp appetizer, followed with chicken kadzu. Excellent presentation on both. Will be back, and soon! We showed up on a Saturday at 5 pm...place quickly began to fill up while we ate. Just something to note.

Always a consistently positive experience for me. I can only speak to the quality of the sushi, but in my experience it is the best in the city. The sushi rice is perfection, and the chefs take great care with the preparation. The atmosphere of the sushi bar is especially good. I love those guys!

We have dined at Anameias a number of times. The food is consistently good and the proportions are more than adequate. We really like the table-side guacamole. It is seasoned to your taste and made from quality ingredients. Service is always good, but wait times during peak can be a bit long.

Awesome sushi, great Japanese food. Most of the staff is Japanese and they take pride in the restaurant. Always clean and a nice place for lunch or dinner. Food is a little pricey but worth it for the quality and taste. Dont expect your quick Japanese it is more like a PF Changs but Japanese.

Love their Sushi, but as I left on Saturday August 13th I noticed the sanitation rating was at 90! I wont return till its above 95, I went back last night November 25th and it was still at a 90 I would think that would have been enough time to improve but sadly they havent.

This is the worst Japanese place I have ever eaten at. Very very overpriced and not worth the money. The quality of the food was awful. Something out of the freezer section of walmart would taste better and fill you up. Very small portions. If I could rate no stars I would.

DO NOT GET THE ROLLS HERE. The only redeeming quality about this place was the Nigiri. Still overpriced at $2 for one piece, but it was not bad. No native japanese speakers here. Still searching for good sushi in winston salem that can remind me of home... no luck so far.

The ginger dressing on the salad is amazing! (You can buy it by the pint or quart!!) The food is great but the service is never that good (the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5). I dont eat sushi, but the rest of my family does and they said its the best in town.

The resturant is really non discript but its beautifully decorated, clean and nicly setup. The service and food was fast but not rushed. Price was also resonable. It was the best Hitachi and sushi iv had in a long time. Makes me wish I lived here!

Overpriced for what you get. Then they want to charge for extra white sauce - 1 cup of sauce is nowhere near enough. You get a decent amount of meat and veggies, but hardly any rice. Good food, but you can get more/better/cheaper elsewhere.

Food was really good. Was super crowded when we went and they did mess up our order. We did get treated to a free appetizer from the sushi bar. I assume they made the wrong order and then just handed it over instead of throwing food out.

Great lunch today at Sweet Potatoes. Such a good atmosphere and excellent service. Soda glass was always full, prompt food service after order placed, and just really yummy simple good. Nothing fancy, just good eats! Highly reccommend!

Terrible dining room management. Waited forever for a party if 2 while larger parties were seated with no reservation. Hear food is good but who knows. Service is very substandard. Definitely would not recommend

Best Hibachi weve found around here so far. The restaurant is very clean and they are the only one Hibachi place around here that has fillet Mignon option. And their price is extremely reasonable.

Really good sushi. Especially enjoyed the Fervency Ocean Roll. Unlike many other places, the spicy tuna roll was actually a bit spicy. Ive had several different rolls here and all were great.

Im a fan. Delicious sushi at a reasonable price. I wish it offered BOGO or start the trend (like Raleigh). The hibachi is good...could have some more oomph. Plenty of parking outside.
