I checked Google for best sushi around Palm Beach County...this one even though its in Broward I decided to go and give it try. The place looked cozy. My waitress just wanted to put in the order and be rid of us. Expected better service being that the place was not packed. She offered no suggestions or anything. She needs some practice with her customer service. The fact that I had to tip her made me want to cry. Though I would never go back I still left a semi decent tip. I would of overlooked this if the sushi would of been great. Unfortunately, it was not. They were supposedly, Sumo special rolls and all looked & tasted like regular ones. Way too expensive for the lack of taste and presentation. No way would I ever make the trip again to Broward. If you want delicious sushi try Sushi Yami on Lantana & Jog Rd instead.

Apparently if U dont give an excellent review, they wont post it, guess they are afraid of honest criticism. Stopped by with family to try this place, dont bother, bad service with attitude for starters... very noisy place, we got some bad fish, upset stomach, told us we were getting a special type of "White Sashimi Tuna", it was actually Escolar, which can (and did) make us very sick, beware of this...!!! They seem to put Jalapeno peppers in everything, if U want spicy tuna or salmon, you get Jalapeno-roll, this is because it is all Mexican people running a sushi place which is what they speak amongst themselves, and when taking orders, etc... quite annoying and rude to boot...!!! Maybe they should sell be selling tacos instead...!!!

I have had consistently good food here and the service is very polite. It really is one of the best Japanese restaurants around. The only reason I did not give 5th Star is that the place is small, and sometimes you will have a noisy party next to you. This is not the restaurants fault. If you can handle a little noise sometimes, you will never have a bad meal here. The food is beautifully prepared, we recommend Udon soup, seaweed salad, miso soup, spicy calamari, and stir fry dishes and tempura. (We dont eat sushi but looks good). This feels like a family restaurant and everyone treat you like a visiting family guest

We order from here for Friday lunch sometimes at work, but today I went in for a sit-down dinner for the first time. Very good value, I was very pleased with the quality and quantity for the price. I hear it can get crowded and its a small dining room, but they also offer delivery. My chef, who I assume is also the owner, said they have been there since 1997 and have weathered a surge of competition to remain the top sushi in the area. He seems like a guy who knows his business and cares about maintaining happy customers and good reputation.

The tuna tower and gyozas were really good. We tried specialty rolls and ordinary rolls and they were just alright. The ingredients were inconsistent, some pieces would have avocado or sauce or cucumber inside and some wouldnt. They were poorly wrapped and one roll we got called for salmon on top, but the piece was easily less than half of other sushi places. The fish was still really fresh and the size of the rolls was generous. We liked it enough that well be trying it again.

Creative sushi rolls, beautiful presentation, super fresh, and incredible flavors. I am a sushi lover, have tried it all, and am very picky about what sushi I will eat. I can tell they put a lot of thought into their specialty rolls, from the combination of ingredients to the special sauces they pair with each roll. The mango paradise roll and the diablo roll are decadent, filling, and sinfully good. I am so excited to have found this place!

I have lived & tried Sushi all over the USA. Being from NY & having many years in the restaurant industry I would consider myself a picky snob when it comes to my culinary taste. Hands down this is the best I have ever had! From the great customer service, freshest seafood & super friendly staff to the well designed online menu. We are up to twice a week eating here. Now lets get you some more business & Zagat rated!

Great Service, Very Good Food! The service at this place is great! The Sushi chef and the waitress are always friendly. This mom and pop type restaurant has a nice cozy feeling. Very personal service. This place is also a great value! Very good sashimi for the price (19 bucks for 16 pieces). You cannot get better quality sashimi unless you pay triple the price elsewhere

I found this place on line and it was the best thing ever. It is a cute little spot, you would never know its there. They play good music while you eat The food I had was awesome. It was fresh and delicious. You must try the crispy roll, it was da bomb!!! The next time I go in there I will take a pic of my plate and post it.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! This is the first time I have ever gone out of my way to write a negative review. The last 5 times I have ordered from Sumo the order has been messed up (missing items, wrong items, etc). No attempt to fix order. Especially someone who orders from their restaurant 3 times a week.

This is my go to sushi place. The food is always fresh and delicious, the staff and owner are fantastic and its a nice place for a quiet lunch or dinner. The only draw back is the location. There is seldom any parking in this mall. I think every store is allotted 3 spaces!!

Rudy and his family serve up the best sushi around hands down. Rudy knows all the patrons, the sushi is always fresh and creative. News specialty rolls are listed regularly on host board. Its worth the wait if you get there and all 10 tables are full!

This sushi is absolutely amazing. Not only that, they heard our two year old daughter talk about how she wanted French fries and brought her some out. My husband and I are sushi buffs and this is now our number one spot :) highly recommend.
