Worth every penny spent. I was searching for a good indian restaurant in Newyork and I was lucky to find this restaurant. My wife was exhausted after walking to reach this place, but at the end she was happy for walking for this restaurant. We ordered one Veg biriyani... which is very delicious... my wife ordered some combo, where they gave appetizer which you can choose from a list, she ordered palak chat. We did not even expect that it would be that much good. I too just saw the rating and choose this restaurant. And when I tasted the food I decided to give a rating for this so that many can enjoy the taste like me. Veg lovers, taste Veg biriyani when you go. you wont get that taste anywhere else...

Went here with my co-workers. They over charged us 20% which we suspect was a service charge (based on another reviewers post), but they did not notate ANYWHERE that there was a service charge for large parties. It was not written anywhere that there was a service charge included. We accidentally ended up tipping another 20% on top and didnt notice until after leaving. Re the food: if you are looking for spicy Indian food, this is not the place. This good is Bombay style and the taste is made sweeter for westerners. Food was good since it wasnt very spicy, but imo, not authentic. Portions are very small for the price. Not very happy with the service charge.

We went for lunch on Jan 8, 2017. The bread, dal makhni n palak paneer was decent n served in good quantity but I hated the way they packed our left over food esp the rice. Which restaurant packs rice in an open disposable bag with no cover on it? Is it hygienic n in this cold weather when it snows or rains anytime, will the food be safe enough? Plus when we ordered two dishes, they should have given two bowls of rice but they didnt respect the quantity here. Very unfortunate experience. Regret giving them 15% tip. I do not recommend anyone going there.

We accidentally arrived here while roaming around Wall Street & it was the best accident ever as we were bowled by the food, taste, ambience, service, quality and overall experience. The Non veg thali & the desserts were a delight; the poori was yumm and the prawn curry was just great. The best part of the food here was it had authentic Indian taste & not some frozen food reheated to serve customers. The Rasmalaai was the best I have come across USAs Indian restaurants... Price is reasonable as well .

I was here for a lunch with family during my visit to NYC. We were very tired with all the walking in the city and craved some good Indian food. With so many options available in Manhattan, I just chose this place due to its 4+ star rating on google. Super satisfied with service and food, made my trip an even better experience. Pros: Value for money, tasty food, good service, amazing chhole and mango lassi. Cons: Mostly north Indian food options, crowded during lunch hours.

So, looking at all these great comments. I would certainly agree that the food is delicious, but from the moment i stepped foot into the restaurant they made me feel every bit uncomfortable perhaps it because im in my work clothes but still, it is totally unacceptable, if my food wasnt already being prepared i would have walked right out. They must work on that because all walks of life appreciate great food but great service has to accompany it.

Wow!!! Found a new restaurant in nyc. I was there for lunch. The place was welcoming. The service was excellent. I orderded the prix fix... Oh the food was appetizing. They served mango lassi at first it was very good. Then got the kebab it was perfectly cooked. The tikka masala was amazing. At last i wanted the check but then gave me a desert white chocolate rasmalai. All this food for just $14 is worth it. I would be going there frequently.

The chicken biryani was good. Yello dal was awesome. Papdi Chat was below average too much garlic. And not the actual papdi in papdi chat. visited on Monday, memorial day at 4. The place had just 3 tables including ours. Yet it took more than 30 minutes to get all items. It is a bit pricey, which is fine but it needs to be accompanied by quicker service, specially when we said that we have a flight to catch twice at 10 minutes interval.

Stumbled upon this yesterday by accident and quite glad we did. Exceptional service - very friendly staff, food was good at a good price. Got mango lassi, Bhel puri, Papdi chaat and a thaali (which comes with 2 appetizers of its own) all to split between 2 of us. Needless to say we were quite satisfied at the end. Looking forward to visiting again

Everything served here was awesome. We went for a prix fix menu. There were few options for each course and every one of us ordered different option and to our surprise none of the item was disappointing. It a must visit when you are in the Financial district area and craving for Indian food. Would love to be here again.

Went there and got cold dry naan. The lamb korma was prepared as if they just fried 2 small pieces of lamb and throw it into some sauce. The chicken in chicken tikka masala was overlooked and dry. I asked for my dessert to go and when I got home I was given the wrong dessert. Mango lassi was good. Chicken kebab was good.

We were looking forward to a great meal at this high-rated restaurant. Our order had only vegetarian dishes and they were just blah. The panner tikka masala and aloo gobhi matar was cooked in the same bland tomato sauce and the dal makhani was dry minus any richness in flavor. Ridiculous.

I visited this place this week along with my 4 month old daughter, my wife and her parents. Overall very authentic north Indian food. Courteous and friendly staff (Fernandis) We had the starter "Palak Chat" for the first time and it was extremely delicious!

I decided to check out the new Indian restaurant for lunch and it was a pleasant surprise. I had the Malai tikki and the anari shrimp. The food was good, I enjoyed the ambiance and the service was excellent. I recommend it.
