i dont even give this disgusting, disgrace of a restaurant ONE star. the first time my boyfriend and i went to this japan inn, we got our food and we were happy with the food so we let the sub-par service slide. however, the second time we went was a different story. we walked in on a thursday afternoon at around 1:15 and it was pretty crowded (but if they had waiters and waitresses that actually cared about the customers and werent snotty, the wait time wouldve been less painful) and there were people standing around making the space we had to wait around at pretty cramped. i didnt let this bother me even though i was pretty hungry. after waiting a solid 7 minutes, we sat down and waited for a waitress or waiter to ask us what we would like to drink which took about 10 minutes for a waitress to walk up to our hibatchi table. the lady asked us what we would like to drink nicely and got us out drinks. she then proceeded to ask us what we wanted to order and i told her i wanted shrimp and extra fried rice. (mind you, i have been eating at japan inn for years and always have gotten the same thing since i was at least 10 years old). she told me that i could not "get one!" i had to "get two!" and i would be charged an extra 7 dollars. i was very confused being that ive always gotten the same thing and my boyfriend said what does she mean and was asking me to clarify what she meant with her and after turning my head to ask her what it is she meant she already moved on for some reason to the others at the table seemingly forgetting about my boyfriend and i. we thought it was insanely rude and not worth wasting another breath to tell her off or waiting another hour just to eat there. we walked out and were at our car which then a host at the front of the restaurant poked his head out of the door and screamed "what happened?!". horrible service. definitely do not reccomend.

I have been going to this restaurant for some time. The first couple of years it was a great place to go an enjoy delicious sushi in a nice environment. Last night I called and made a reservation for my family to eat hibachi. When we got there the place was a mad house. After waiting for 30 minutes to get the table I already called a reservation for before hand, they treat us as if we were cattle....moving us quickly to a corner table and getting our cook ready to feed us. Of course he messed up my order and another person sitting by us, and we end up having to wait for another cook to correct his mistake. I end up eating cold fried rice w/chicken...waiting for my shrimp to be cooked along with the other customer. Finally by the time I get my shrimp the waitress is already trying to get everyone out of the table so they can bring over more people waiting in line. I had a terrible experience. Even the manager was just arrogant. We gave them a tip of a bit more then 15% and she was rude talking to my boyfriend when he signed the wrong receipt by mistake. Then she ignores everyone else in the table and starts talking to someone else. I felt like she treated us as if she was doing us a favor. There is just no customer service anymore. I was angry...I am never going there again. I am sure with the way they are treating their customers, they will lose more business and realize that they should be more attentive and caring to customer satisfaction. They may realize that when its too late.

So I decided to have a little get together here for my 18th birthday with a couple friends because its good entertainment, good food, and good prices. Anyways the first 30 minutes were terrible. When I got to the restaurant I told the lady 15 people. I had told them this 3 days prior when I made a reservation. We were seated with about 8 other people and my party was already 15 people so there was absolutely no space to eat. Anyways the first problem stemmed from the fact that they gave us 14 seats not 15. When I tried to tell the lady that she started yelling and giving me an attitude. So I had to snap back in order to get things right. Eventually we got moved to a new room. At this point everyone was a bit heated, but content that we had a bigger table to ourselves. When the waitresses came to take our order they were extremely rude and disrespectful. At one point a waitress threw a menu at a party member. After taking our orders we waited a good 20 minutes to start getting our soups and salads and then another 10 minutes for the chefs. When the chefs did come everyone lightened up and it was an amazing time. The chefs were really nice and the food was great. A lot too. Ultimately, the waitresses were the most disrespectful, rude, and impatient waitresses I have ever encountered, but overall it was a good time when the chefs came and everyone calmed down.

If you are looking for a relaxing evening out, dont go here. You will immediately be greeted by a frazzled hostess. Once seated at the hibachi grill, we were waited on by an even more rushed and frantic waitress, who spilled my mothers wine when serving it. Came back and then knocked my mothers fork off of the table and into my mothers purse. On her next trip back she knocked over my husbands soy sauce bowl. She of course apologized each time, and I asked her to please slow down so we could relax, and she did give it an effort, but was still obviously in angst. All of the staff working on tables around us were rushing around speaking fast, running into each other and into customers. I was afraid to take my 6 year old to the bathroom for fear we would be mowed down. We left in need of a stiff drink. This was a very expensive anxiety ridden experience. We will never go back.

I will never come here again .. I went to eat on the sushi side with my friend n we ate the waitress Linda barely spoke English and was rude anyway so when it was time to go we paid and left a tip I guess it wasnt what she wanted so I saw her stand over to the side staring at me counting the money calling me cheap ... So I asked her what she said so she pointed at gratuity n said this is what my tip should be so I sent her for change she brings it back stands intront of me while I counted it took it and Walked away ... I was gonna go off but I just went outside and called the manager THERE unprofessional too because she asked me if I was sure said she had to look into it and call me back she never did WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER no wonder why I only did take out from them.

Having previously been very pleased with both the food and service, my family and I decided to celebrate a birthday at the Japan Inn in Weston, FL. What a horrible decision. My daughters sushi had more personality than did the cook. Additionally, one of the servers dripped soup on a new leather purse. At least we thought the food was "okay"...until about two hours later when everyone in our party became ill. A call to the establishment was useless and ineffective. Rowena, the General Manager, was rude and unsympathetic to the fact that a birthday celebration had been ruined. We will NEVER return to this establishment.
