We just ate at this restaurant after a week of delicious meals at various places. The sushi was less than fresh. Four of us ordered the hibachi chicken, which was chewy and tough...definitely not cooked on a hibachi grill "in the kitchen" as they say it is. The vegetables werent even edible and clearly not cooked on hibachi. My wife, who was clearly not happy, asked again if the meals were prepared hibachi style and the waitress said again that they were. The waitress never smiled and was not friendly at all. As noted by another reviewer, someone was asleep on a cot behind the bar. None of the workers bothered to ask why we werent eating our food, if we were happy, etc and still charged full price. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone. We just hope we dont get food poisoning at this point.

This is probably the worst place Ive ever been to. I never got served my sushi, my family ate and I waited but after 25 min, I asked (I had to get up because the waiter never came back to see us after he took the order). The guy in charge of the sushi was eventually taking orders and cleaning tables and when I complained he simply said "eh, were busy!" No apologies for the fact that I didnt even eat. Another weird thing is that a kid was actually sleeping on a cot behind the sushi bar, no kidding. We asked for the check and they charged us full price, no "make up/apology" discount. This doesnt even deserve a star.

Kumo is a Japanese Restaurant that serves amazing sushi! There sushi menu is huge and very cheap. If you go from 12-6p its by 2 rolls get 1 Free. My Favorite is the Large hot sake for 6 dollars all day everyday. If thats not enough to convince you you need to try some of their food consider that they are family owned and operated and the sushi chef and chef in the back are very dedicated to the restaurant. They will literally make you feel like family. Here is a picture of the last time a went: Tuna, Salmon and Tamago (Egg) Individual Sushi Tuna and Salmon Crunch Rolls

Seaweed salad and another side dish portions were generous. Rolls were small and sad looking. There was nothing in the presentation of them. Also a small amount of fish in them. They tasted good at least. Prices were lower than others Ive been to. The place was pretty much empty. There were two guys preparing sushi, one looked very young and I had to wonder if he had any formal training in the technique because the rolls came out sloppy and fell apart. I suspect that many of these other reviewers do not eat sushi on a normal basis because its definitely lacking.

this is coming from a guy that really dont like sushi all that much. I had went here for my birthday thinking id try it one more time. I loved it! I told myself that i was going to try the eel from the kibachi bar and it was great! Everything was great and I am planning on going there again soon! I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit! I had the shrimp, salmon, and eel from the bar and shrimp tempura from the back and because it was my b-day i had gotten a free tempura ice cream. As i said everything was great!!!!!

We are in Orlando for a Disney Christmas, and we visited this Japanese Steakhouse. I order steak teriyaki and my wife had veggie tempura. The food was nothing special. The restaurant was not very expensive, but the quality of the food could have been a lot higher. My salad was soggy, and the miso soup was a bit too salty. The sauce for the steak teriyaki was a brown sauce with onions--nothing special. I would not recommend this restaurant. Google had a rating of 26 on this place. I would give it a 15.

There is never anyone there even on a Saturday night! Their customer service sucks. They argue with their customers. They gave me the wrong food order and the food was so cold. My friends and family couldnt even eat. I went back for a refund. The food cost is 32 dollars but they stood there and argued with me and handed me a ten dollars bills back so they kept the food. Whatever u do. Please do not go to this place. Its disgusting!!

Been coming here for years now, enough for the staff to know what we like and remember it. Best sushi in the area with the best prices too. Yes, the place is not fancy.. its a small family ran business. If you want to eat in a dimly lit room with candles, cloth counter tops and exaggerated prices this isnt your place. If your goal is great sushi and better prices and fast service this is it. This is our favorite place to eat.

All these people writing good reviews for this place must be paid or friends of the owner. I went in after reading the good reviews on this site and was highly dissapointed. By far, this is the worst japanese restaurant I have been to. The food is tastless and no creativity on presentation. I should have walked out when I walked in and realized that there was only two people eating there. What a waste of time and money

Very nice interior, low key but extremely clean. Excellent sashimi and other traditional offerings. Price was very reasonable for this area. It is a family run restaurant with very attentive service. After a few visits the wait staff warms up but it is nice not to see pasted on smiles in this area. Very large portions and always nicely presented. Will definitely go there again many times!

The food (we had the Kumo for two) was generous and tasted ok, but not sure if it was value for money. The reason for the one star was the service: the waitress and one of the kitchen staff looked very miserable and appeared to hate their job. Very unpersonal and no feel for service whatsoever. The taste of the food rescued the score to one star, the service was zero!

Ive been a long time customer of this small, family-owned business because of its sushi. I love going there and am never disappointed with the sushi I have. I dont really have experience with other items from the regular menu, but I also love their salad and soup. I love taking friends and family there to try out the sushi.

Maybe some people dont have taste buds, but the sushi is absolutely disgusting. I got the volcano roll and the topping was ice cold when it should be warm, the dynamite roll was so soggy nothing had any taste. The lo mein was horrid, I wish I ventured out to get some food that didnt make me want to vomit.

Was in the mood for sushi while on vacation in the area. This little restaurant is charming and the food totally blew us away. Everything was so fresh and flavorful, from the spicy tuna roll to the miso soup to the hibachi plates. If Im ever in the area again, I will most definitely be stopping back in.

Very small but quaint Japanese Sushi Restaurant located on US 27 by the Berry Town Center Publix Plaza. Husband and wife operation with a large Sushi selection. Quality and taste are probably the best in Central Florida. Do not judge the Restaurant by its look. Try the food !
