2.5 of 5 Stars. Made dinner reservations for 7:30 Friday night. Arrived at 7:12, but NO available parking spaces...waited a few min, and finally decided to park at hotel across street and walk over after seeing others do this. Walked in at 7:21 and was told wed be seated closer to 7:30. Went to bar (if you can call it a bar...it was so tiny, only like 8 seats), and after 10 min finally got a drink ordered.....had to pay for it right then and there though, which was stupid. At 7:50, asked hostess about being seated and was told they were having a lot of people leaving right then, and would just be a couple more minutes, as soon as the tables were cleaned. At 8:15 our buzzer went off, finally, and then we were taken to our table. We were seated and our orders taken. Soup was given to us before any drinks...!? Water and soft drinks were brought about 5 min later, but no cocktails....they didnt come for another 10 min, when they brought our salads. So its then about 8:30, and we finally can eat our soup and salad.....a full hour after our reservation time. While waiting on the salads/cocktails, the chef comes, and begins with the meal preparation, which I thought was odd. I had the filet, and my wife the same with shrimp, and we shared a shrimp tempura sushi. Overall, the food itself was good, as was the presentation.....but, it was odd to me the way the chef prepared everything....the vegs and shrimp 1st, served them, then prepared and served the main dishes, starting with the seafood, which only 1 person at our table ordered so I was kinda glad of that.....then, bean sprouts....and lastly, the fried rice. Why it cost $2 more, I have no idea and find that to be a little offensive....I mean, its just freaking rice with a little egg....?!? Oh, and then the tempura came out. So....its then about 8:50 and whats on my plate of food?.....cold vegs, kinda warm bean sprouts, room temp steak, and hot rice (maybe thats why they charge the extra 2 bucks)....joy. Surprisingly, the food was still pretty good....but I wonder if I was just so hungry by that time, it made everything taste better...I mean, those people on Survivor go gaga over peanut butter and crackers....know what I mean? We had tix to a 10pm show downtown, so had to scarf our food down and move like the wind to make it. We decided to just not go....we HATE having to rush rush rush, and then walk in at the last minute. Between my wife and I, we had 1 appetizer, 4 cocktails, 2 entrees.....cost, including tip, $100. Parking 0 stars Hostess/Waiting Area 1.5 stars Bar 1.5 stars Service 1.5 stars Presentation 4 stars Food quality 3.5 stars Price 1 star I think when we want really good Japanese food, well stick with House of Tokyo.

Since were from Carmel, it was a bit of a drive down to the south side of Indianapolis. Our first impressions were pretty average. The decor was so/so, it seemed in need of some remodeling, but definitely conveyed pleasant scene. But we were quickly seated at the hibachi grill and served by a very attentive waitress. There at least 100 other guests in the restaurant but the waitress we had was polite and attentive. For dinner we ordered the Hibachi chicken and steak and the Playboy roll and Soft-shell Crab roll. We frequent Benihanas for Hibachi so we were expecting similar quality and entertainment. To our pleasant surprise we saw some tricks that we hadnt seen before. I was very surprised at the quality of the food that we ordered. The chicken was very tender and the steak was cooked just right. You could definitely tell that the quality of the meat was very fresh. The real treat in our meal came when our sushi was presented. We were expecting traditional presentation with our rolls, but the Playboy roll came out in a tinfoil boat and was lit on fire! The sushi was definitely some of the BEST if not the best sushi currently in Indiana. I would definitely say that it is comparable to other sushi paragons such as Sakura or Naked T-chopstix. Definitely a great experience! Well definitely be back for half priced sushi on Mondays and Tuesdays!

My family always goes to Fujiyamas for our birthdays. This year we went there for my wifes 50th birthday. We were met by our waitress Summer, she was very friendly, brought our drinks, soup and salad. My wife ordered a sushi plate and I ordered the Geisha dinner. My dinner did not come out with my wifes dinner. At first I thought that it was ok, because they had to cook mine, but it was about 15 to 20 minutes later and still no meal to eat with my wife. I finely told our waitress to cancel my order, because we had another place to be and we were on a time-line. Finally the manger came over and said sorry really quick in passing, and she went back to hurry the cooks after we said we wanted to cancel the order. The manager brought out my food anyway. The chicken came out hot, but the shrimp was warm to cold. The bill came out and nothing was done and there was a 50 cent charge for condiments that supposedly came with the meal that we did not use, because we needed to rush. We told our waitress and she took care of that and gave us five dollars off the meal. The manager did NOTHING!!! Im sorry, but its time to find a new place to celebrate our birthdays! This was a very special birthday as it was a 50th!

we use to go here 3 times a week but we were getting a chef that didnt do well with showmanship , seasoning of food or cooking food thoroughly. This particular time we got the same chef no big deal we knew what to expect, no showmanship and lightly seasoned food and we would tell him cook our food well done. instead he was cross contaminating our food. shrimp on grill , vegetables, salmon. ok . here comes the raw chicken touching the other food. same spatula used for all the food . shrimp tossed on raw chicken then flipped and put on our plate.seriously. my husband made the manager aware of it and she sent the head chef to the table and my husband told him about the contamination. he said do you want me to remove the shrimp? my husband said all the food on the plate is contaminated. He then told the lady manager and she she agreed the food was contaminated. they still let the so called chef finish cooking with the same raw chicken spatula and serve the food. the customers were eating it and the manager was letting them. my husband told her we werent getting sick and will never be back. which is a shame because that was my favorite place to eat.
