Went for my first time on Cinco de Mayo and I expected there to be a wait and I was cool with that. However, a lot of the kids that were dining with there parents were Super BAD (wild and out of control that day). The parents could NOT control them at all and that kind of messed up our visit. The music was way too loud and people were yelling to hear each other which made it worse. I was sitting directly in front of my best friend at a small table and we could barely hear each other. Since it is a bar and grill and it seemed that just about everyone was drinking except us, they were in no hurry to leave. Therefore, building up the wait time for everyone else and the place was crowded inside and out. The food did not live up to the hype and was a little disappointing. My best friends ordered a grilled taco salad with chicken and I had an avocado chicken salad. Our chicken looked very different from each others and mines was super salty. Hers really had no taste at all. The fried ice cream was good, but Ive had better. We hurried up and ate so that we could get out of there so that someone else could have our seat. The servers were so busy and we waited for our waitress to come back by, but she didnt. So, I took my check up to the register with my card in hand and one of he girls replied that "You have to pay at the table!" Keeping in mind that the noise was so loud that I could barely hear her and it seemed as if she was speaking above a whisper. I proceeded to tell her that we were trying to make room for someone else since they were so busy. Finally our waitress came to the counter and took care of it, but she wasnt friendly nor happy about it even after I explained. She just came by, dropped he check off, and walked away WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING. If we were dishonest people, we could have walked right out the door and been inconsiderate of them and or just sat there a let others kept waiting, BUT WE DIDNT AND WE WERE CONSIDERATE. As far as the staff, nobody was friendly or approachable. It was terrible walking to the front door when just about everyone out front was smoking and your choking trying to get into the restaurant, but NO smoking inside. What made it even worse was when we were leaving the smoke was even worse and people just kept smoking around the door and the steps. We both are willing to go back on another time like on a Saturday when they first open up or during the week before everyone gets in and starts drinking. But so far, my experience was not that pleasurable!

Went during brunch hours last Sunday. There was plenty of seating and no wait. The service was fast and attentive. I ordered the Enchiladas Mendoza. It came out hot, and was filled with chicken that tasted like it was freshly rotisserie or oven roasted before it was pulled, and freshly sautéed veggies. The sauce was made from scratch out of green chiles. Delicious! I tasted the red sauce on my wifes enchiladas, and it was rich and full of red chile flavor, not the weak stuff that most Richmond Mexican restaurants use. I dont know about what makes Mexican food "authentic," but this was freshly made from scratch, which is a far cry from typical Mexican restaurants in Richmond. No canned sauces or meat that has been sitting in a pot all day. Some minor negatives: lighting could have been better (it was daytime, and most lights were off), interior could use a fresh coat of paint, the rice was slightly plain, and the refried beans were too spicy for my wife and son. The beans had a good flavor, but they couldnt eat much of it. The execution of the main entree was good enough that I can let those things slide, but it will be harder to convince them to come with me next time.

Went here for a friends birthday party. There were about 15 of us. There was an average wait after we took our order, however much of my food was only room temperature when it came out. Approximately 10 minutes after I finished eating, the remaining food for the rest of or party members came out. Also, the birthday girls order was incorrect and that had to be remedied. Im reasonable certain that had I come alone or with my family, the food would have been hotter. I think the food tasted pretty good, it was on par with what Ive had at other Mexican restaurants in the area. Nevertheless, Lalos loses points because this was a special occasion in which greater care should have been taken to ensure everyone received their plates hot, in a timely manner and as ordered. If I lived closer to the restaurant, I would probably return, but there are comparable restaurants that are much more conveniently located to where I live and work.

My friends have vouched for this place and its normally great. We had horrible service. Im 24 and granted have a young face but the bartender took my friends orders and straight up ignored me. They continued to ignore all of us after we ordered our drinks and it took us about 15 minutes to find someone to even pay when we decided wed had enough. Eileen was our server and rang up our drinks wrong which wouldnt be a problem except she assured us the drink was the same price when it was 2 dollars more....she did change it but I dont appreciate the attempt to mislead. In the end we left without ordering food even though we were very hungry... multiple employees, in fact all employees were all their phones and congregated watching a soccer game. I get it soccer is awesome but youre also working.

Got delivery, so I cant offer any guidance on this places in restaurant treatment. I would never advise anyone to ever order delivery from this place. I ordered online with the expectation of a 45-50 minute delivery time. Reasonable, right? 1.5-2 hours pass. I tried to call multiple times. I guess everyone was working so they couldnt answer any calls. At the 2 hour mark, I get a text from a guy who says hes outside. Food is extremely cold and just not even good tasting. Dont do delivery here.

Very good. The place was nice and open, and clean. The food was very good. The tacos were really good, not just the usual bland repeat of most Mexican places. Prices may be a tad high, but not too bad. My wife loved the chicken and rice, and somehow still had room for dessert (she is pregnant though...) and had a hard time choosing since they had two different chocolate desserts. We will probably go back the next time we are in town.

I live an hour away and was looking for a kid friendly place to take my kids near the CMoR. This was across the street from it so I thought why not? This place does NOT disappoint. Super friendly, patient staff (my kids are 13, 13, 6 and 4) coupled with fast service already makes for a relaxed dining experience. What makes this place worthy of my continued business is the delicious, affordable food. I will most definitely be back.

The food was just okay- everything seemed bland and flavorless, like a Mexican TV dinner. There wasnt anything special or truly authentic about any of the food. It all could have used a ton more Mexican spices. The "Mexican" rice tasted like plain white rice and the refried beans tasted like they were from a can. Salsa was watery, chips werent fresh. It wasnt horrible by any means, but we wont go back.
