Been coming thru this area on business for over the past 5 yrs & never realized this place has been here for over 20 yrs. Although the ratings were good, I was a bit hesitant at first, but really wanted sushi, so thought Id give it a shot. As some of the other negative ratings said, it did seem to be deserted. I walked in & didnt see the first person, but after a few seconds I was greeted & seated. Everything from that point on was as good as it gets. Ok, so maybe it was more of a 4 star for being in an older location, but gladly give them the 5th for hanging on to a part of town that seems to be closing up shop. Seems most businesses have left to move on to the newer, latest, greatest locations. If you find yourself reading this & on the fence about whether or not to stop in...do it, you wont be disappointed. I wasnt & will surely be back.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I ate here with my husband a couple weeks ago on a saturday night. The parking lot was empty which should have been a dead giveaway. We tried a couple sushi rolls and not only was there too much rice in the roll, but the rice could barely be called that. It had definitely sat out too long and was completely mushy. The chicken teriyaki had absolutely no flavor and the chicken was bone dry. It had definitely been precooked and then reheated. The beef yakisoba noodles had more flavor but were so salty they were barely edible. The beef made up for it by being completely tasteless. Admittedly the sushi chef (might have been owner too) did ask us if the food was okay, but nothing I say can fix food that bad. The ginger salad was the best thing we had. I will not be going there again.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. We got there at 12:30 and were seated promptly. But there was still NO soup/salad after a 45-min wait while the chefs were cooking at the adjoint grill. We were the only two at the Hibachi table and so we figured they were waiting for more people to come in. A family with a crying baby were seated at our table and their orders were quickly taken, after which their salads/soups were served immediately. At this point, I just had to walk out of that place. When we walked out, a very insincere sorry was muttered by one of the employees but that was it. I will never go there again no matter how good the food is.

We ate at Minami in early May 2008. There were 4 folks in my party and we were setted immediately. The service was good. The cook overcooked the fried rice and really every meat/seafood item ordered. Other than the food being more on the well done side the taste was good. My parents did not check the bill $110 when they paid and left a tip of $15. We figured out after we left that they had added in the gratuity to the bill and never mentioned it. I went there for my Birthday and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone else because of the overcooked food and the tip issue.

I had sushi and an order of fried gyoza. I will say that nothing I had was bad in any way. The gyoza was decent but had one less piece than the picture. The sushi and wasabi were served almost room temperature instead of chilled which would have given it more firmness. For this reason I deducted one star. I feel the sushi would have been excellent if served properly chilled. I would love to come back and try the hibachi grill as Im betting that this is where this place really excels. Service was friendly and excellent as well.

Ate their for the first time today. Ordered the Shrimp Tempura Dinner thinking there would be sushi, but it was just fried shrimp and steamed rice. The shrimp was okay, nothing special. The "Yum Yum" sauce was gross, so is their terriyaki sauce, and whatever sauce actually comes with the food. I think it was fish sauce. Luckily I had some orange sauce and soy sauce at my house.

We were hastely greeted as we walked in. They seem to be highly understaffed; their focus was directed towards the hibachi grills. The sushi was good, but the sashimi was sliced too thick. My table was left unattended for the whole duration of our meal. No one checked on us besides the sushi chef asking how was the sushi. I will probably not come back to this restaurant.

This restaurant is very friendly and good service. It is family owned and run. They have a great sushi chef Dustin, who is both friendly and knowledgeable. I personally get the sushi every time and both sashimi and rolls have been great. My wife and kids prefer the hibachi so it works out for both of us.

I love this place. The people who work there always do there best and making sure you well taken care of. It is a small place with great prices. We do lunch there a few times a week. There daily special changes each day and is a wonderful Meal for less than 10 bucks.

Our hibachi chef was wonderful, he entertained the children, our 3 yr old was a bit hesitant but he made her laugh which is impossible! The food was good I dont know if they changes management or what but the other staff didnt seem to be as friendly as they used to be.

I would give Minami 100 stars if possible. The food is very high quality and prepared perfect every time I have been to visit. The service is very speedy at lunch and always checking to see if something is needed like a drink refill. My whole family loves Minami !!

My husband and I were regulars here for years. Until one of the sushi chefs was beyond rude to us. We havent been back, and have since discovered Tokyo. Mito, miss you, friend...but Kool treated us very poorly. Sad, considering we were there almost weekly.

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat. The food and service is always top notch on a consistent basis. You can tell the people here love what they do and are good at providing a great dining experience. You wont be disappointed here.

Went in there in a Sunday afternoon for dinner. No one was in the place. When we started ordering they had to keep running into the kitchen to see if they had the food we were ordering.... I understand why it was a ghost town.

Walked in to an "open" restaurant. Not so, the door was open, there was no one there. My husband walked around saying hello? I gave up and went back to the truck. Guess their food is soo good they dont need customers.

Food was fairly good. Hostess that was screaming at our cook was annoying. Man that works at the front said she was talking to him, not screaming. Just like Jessica on Fresh off the boat over a crouton.

Went here for Yakisoba and was a treat. While the rest noticed they have a vivid sushi menu and will be going back. Highly recommend. This not a run if the mill buffet kind of place.
