I cant believe the Deal!! $3 sushi/rolls/sashimi after some hurdle $5-8 per person (based on time of day/week). High quality fish. Friendly staff. Generous portions. Tiny restaurant (seats maybe 40 people max). Very busy on Saturday nights: 15+ minute wait around 9pm. Favorite rolls: Maru Maki Dragon Shrimp Tempura Crunch Rainbow Say "Hi" to chefs Kyle and Alvaro for us! Wish we lived in Long Beach for this restaurant alone! Regarding other reviews: No strange Asian Pop music. They have sports on TV. The rice is fine. The portions are generous. Yes, they do ask you to pay full price (up to 3x the deal price) if you want to take it to go but they also ask you to pay full price if your eyes are bigger than your stomach and you have tons of leftovers. I think thats a great idea to reduce waste, but also if they didnt theyd be out of business in a New York minute. Eat in the restaurant. You are allowed one small to go box. Dont go hogwild on your order because of the amazing deal and youll be fine. We typically ordered 6-7 (big) specialty rolls and 3 sashimi for 2 people and it was perfect. $50 with good tip. We didnt try their Sake because we generally dont enjoy it. We always order water with our sushi to enjoy the pure sushi flavor.

The one is because the food is great. I was there the other night and they have a new special that you pay $8 for and then each roll is $3. It was not very clear. It also says no take out, to me as a consumer this mean you cant get this deal TO GO- right? Well I ordered too much and I wanted to take it home and asked for a box. They denied me a box and said the OWNER does not care what I do but I am not getting a box. I asked for the owner and he too said he was being fair and compared it to a buffet where you are not allowed to take food to go. They said that if I wanted to pay "full Price" I could take it to go! I said I was paying the full price they were asking and that this food was going into the trash for some bum to eat it. I demanded my food to go and they would not let me take it. This is disgusting and a waste of food and HORRIBLE business. I paid for it - it was MINE to do what I wanted to do with it. My bill was almost $30 dollars! How completely SHITY is that? They lost a regular.

Great spot to fill up on a variety of menu items from basics to original house rolls. The $11 person charge starts the $3 item deal - so two items costs $17, three $21 etc. This is a decent deal considering Sushi Stop is ways up north - and for those who really get on a roll when it comes to downing the raw seafood (pun intended no shame). However this isnt a connoisseur spot and my small stomach rather wished I had prepared better. Any leftover rolls and the prices revert back to the non-deal prices. The rolls taste fresh enough and flavors work great for chowing. But as said, those wanting a fine dining atmosphere and proper sushi quality best look elsewhere. The rice was really packed on and sauce too - rather overwhelmed the rolls. Im not really used to such an assault from ingredients typically checked by the fish and other bits. But for the hungry hungry types, the variety, service, and prices here are plenty good to recommend.

great sushi for great price. I could do without the weird Asian pop music videos that are playing all the time but thats just me and doesnt knock any stars off. What does knock a star off is the servers. Ive been to this place many times, usually during the day and I have never had a bad experience. Went there the other night (wasnt terribly busy) but the two servers running the floor seemed to be actively trying to avoid eye contact with myself or my friend. I finally got annoyed, got up from my table and stood directly in front of one of the servers and told him wed like menus. He huffed as if it was a great inconvenience for him and brought HANDED me menus. I had to AGAIN stop him when we were ready to order. All in all the one guy knocked a whole star off an otherwise great place.

I wanted to fall in love with this place since its right around the corner from me but the food was about as average as you can get. The fish came out room temperature which was a bit of a red flag and brought out the fishy taste to some of the dishes. The rolls didnt look like what was shown in the menu and was a bit of a disappointment. The service was far from knock your socks off and we werent even sure who our server was as multiple people came to the table with no introduction to what their roll was. I wouldnt say this place was horrible but there was a lack of attention to detail here that will probably keep me from coming back.

Affordably priced sushi that tastes good. The sushi chefs are actually Latino, not Japanese. So is it going to be as delicious as Octopus or Wakano up the street? Well, no. But the customer is also not going to pay Wakano or Octopus prices. I also like that this restaurant allows customers to phone in orders for pick up. This is especially useful on Friday and Saturday nights when this restaurant has a wait out the door (it is a physically small place). If you are into sports you can sit at the Sushi bar, have sake and enjoy the game.

This is a great little place ! Welcoming Community feel , with photos of regulars on the wall. Decent specials. The Rolls are fair sized , very well made. I always feel like I got my money worth. Selection is fair. Sake not over priced. They do allow To Go orders unless specially marked. ( like buffay) Nice , Small Bar area.. intimate . Good for a couple or small party. Chief will make to Order if available. Good sized parking on side / in back.

This place is an old, dingy, soiled dump. The food is mediocre and they have a bizarre pricing system where you pay $8 to be seated then $3 for each sushi dish. For us it was cheaper to pay by the dish. Do not recommend this depressing place. Sushi restaurants should be sparkling clean with absolutely fresh fish.

Terrible atmosphere, but the rolls are decent. I came here because it was described as a good value, but the sushi is not significantly cheaper than nearby places. The deals are silly. Happy hour at a nice sushi restaurant is less expensive than this dive.

This place is cheap... cheaper than most happy hours in most restaurants. Love the service. Plus the food is delicious. I recommend a lot of friends here and this place is the favorite place they go for sushi now too.
