Food was ok and selection comparable to other Japanese steakhouses. Prices were also competitive; eating here was on average cheaper than other places with similar menus. Service is usually friendly and helpful, and after having visited about 5 times, the staff became a bit more familiar. Where Sogo falls short is in their management and food staging. On our final visit to the steakhouse, we placed our order as usual, appetizers and entrees. The first thing to come out was a sushi entree. We asked why this would happen, since we hadnt gotten anything else. The waiter apologized, and said he shouldnt have put everything in at the same time. But thats really the expediter who should be organizing when food goes out. Then the appetizers came out and then the other entrees. We asked what happened to the soup and salad. They were both brought immediately, while we basically had all the appetizers and entrees on the table. It was just very disorganized. When we spoke to the manager about it, it was clear that he didnt comprehend the situation at all. Come here if youre in a rush, and want edible food. But if you want a nice experience, go somewhere else.

Place was virtually empty at 5pm so wait staff wasnt exactly overwhelmed while we were there. kids enjoyed the hibachi cooking demonstration, but no salad or soup ever arrived although it was ordered by everyone at out table (3 separate groups of customers). One ordered sushi appetizer but it arrived late; one meal order was placed wrong by waiter & it involved a FOOD ALLERGY and I heard her say it from across the table so she said it clearly. every single person at our table had to request drink refills since none were offered. Waiter was gone through entire meal. Disappointing experience here. Owners need to train wait staff or their doors will be closed soon from no return business- we wont go back there.

Matt is wonderful cook. Food awesome. Owner is a jerk. He chased me and my fiance and friends out in parking lot because we didnt tip a second person. We tiped chef very well. So out in middle of parking lot my friend says heres 5 bucks give it to the kid that just brought us drinks once. Owner look at the money and shakes his head like it wasnt enough. Very unprofessional to chase someone in parking lot for second tip. I was a faithful customer and referred tons of people. My friends that was with us was their first time. All of us will never go back ever again

While very entertaining with great tasting food, clearly my gluten free needs were not met. Despite calling ahead to discuss my concerns, addressing it again on their website and speaking to the staff while I was there to ensure my food allergy safety, I was glutenized for sure. Even though my food was cooked in the kitchen where I was told it could be made gluten free, there is no doubt it had gluten. I would recommend it for non-food allergy people but for those with a gluten allergy, BEWARE!

The food is very good, but if you want to do delivery, which they offer... Dont. Ive had my order messed up and when I called to complain I was told I was lying. Just tonight I told them I was paying cash. The driver, who is an actual manager, told me he didnt have any change. I had to argue with him to sign a receipt saying he was returning with my change. I am very unhappy, and you cant call the owners since they dont speak English. Customer Service is dead.

Orting Hibachi I thought I was going to get something like the Plum Garden or Kobe Rochester or Sakura house instead it was like typical Chinese food .... taste like beef and broccoli from a regular Chinese restaurant. I love Hibachi fried rice and this tasted nothing like Chinese fried rice or Hibachi fried rice I feel sad cuz Kobe is so close but I wanted to try this place and I feel like I wasted my money that I didnt get the same value

Honestly, the place is beautiful, the staff is friendly and attentive, the chef was great, but my food was just ok. The lemons in my water were rancid, I got two pieces of chicken with tendons/stringy inedible parts, and the only seasonings were salt, pepper, and tons of soy sauce, (maybe some hoisen?) Under seasoned and too much salt. I was disappointed. And no changing table for the baby!! I miss Shogun in Irondequoit.

This was our first time at Sogo at the Greece mall and it was horrible. The service was awful, we waited 10 minutes until someone came to the table to take our order. And it wasnt even busy. The chicken and shrimp hibachi didnt look fresh, it looked like something you would get from the frozen aisle in your grocery store. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This place was amazing. My wife and I went there for our anniversary and were seated right away. Their onion soup and salad were really good and the hibachi chef was friendly and funny. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was tasty. I would recommend this place for hibachi or sushi to anyone. We will be back

Even though they didnt all speak great english everybody was very friendly and pleasant and my food came quickly and it was all DELCIOUS! !!! Most importantly it tasted very fresh as well as good. Would definitely come again. Atmosphere was nice and quiet too. Felt very comfortable. :)
