I have gone to Hana many times over the past few years. It was my father in laws favorite place and after he passed away a year ago I avoided it because it wouldnt be the same without him. One of my best friends loves sushi and talked me into going. The service started off really good. The waiter talked us into getting sake and our food was great. After our meal we decided to relax at the bar for a little bit. We tipped really well and we were overall extremely happy. We decided to go again the following Thursday night. As soon as we walked in the door the bartender (I also think she is owner) said out loud to me "You here to have six more glasses of wine". No hello or nice greeting. She embarrassed me in her establishment. First off I wasnt counting how many glasses I had but even if she was you dont announce that to the public. I should have left right then and there but we decided to stay because we were hungry. As we ordered our drinks my friend got the key lime pie martini and the bartender looked at me and said "You should get this you like booze". I have never been treated like this ever! About a half hour into our food our waiter from the previous week comes over and says "You were drunk last week". I did nothing the week prior to even give them the audacity to talk to me like that. First off they serve little glasses of wine and they only fill it halfway. Second off I am a paying customer and a adult. If you are going to harass people about drinking then dont serve alcohol! Or better yet if you think I have had to much and am being belligerent then stop serving me. Dont embarrass me in front of my friend on top of announcing it to the whole restaurant. I was so insulted by how I was treated by the staff especially after my very generous tip of over 20%. I will never ever go back and neither will any of my family or my friends. Instead of my good memories with my deceased father in law I have reminders of these people basically calling me a alcoholic. Unprofessional!

Ive been here quite a few times in the hibachi area. The tricks the chefs does is quite entertaining and a nice experience. The food also comes out great. However, I went to the dining area today for the "All you can eat" experience. I was disappointed for many reasons. First off, it was a Sunday so I had to pay more this special than expected. I guess only on other days is it cheaper. I find this out and Im like okay.. they should have made that more known. Then, me and my friend figure that one person can get the all you can eat special and we can just share. Then the waiter comes by and sees me eating and is like" sorry, Im gonna have to charge you if you share." That was completely rediculous, feeling like Im being watched and I cant eat peacefully.. like we seriously cant just share food?! Anyways, I also wanted to order some sushi cooked, BUT they didnt even have that option! Only served uncooked, and when the waitress told me she was kinda rude about it. Then, we didnt even get a chance to ask for another check off slip to order more food for the supposed "all you can eat" deal. They gave us the check before we could even ask.. basically like kicking us out. The sushi itself was average, I could have had better elsewhere. Overall, unpleasant expereince and definitely wont be back for the dining.

We have been here several times over the past few years, seems to be headed downhill. Hibachi: this should be an entertaining experience, but is flat. The food comes in stages, first rice/noodles, then protein, then veg. Dont wait to eat your rice, it will be ice cold by the time your veg is ready. And the veg is cooked on the grill right after ALL proteins for the table, so they taste like beef, chicken, shrimp, scallops, etc and their seasonings. But no veg flavor left. Sushi is okay, nothing special. The service is slow and frustrating. There is zero decor and from the Hibachi room, the view is of an unused room with chairs randomly piled up to the ceiling, cleaning products, bags of whatnot. Weird. The beverage menu has specialty cocktails with only sweet, fruity options with the exception of a bloody Mary. Dont ask for something not on the cocktail menu because they have no idea how to make anything else, and dont have any other products in the bar anyway. It doesnt look or feel clean in here, even salt and pepper shakers were gross. This was the last chance, wont be returning. Hubby had diarrhea all night.

I just had all you can eat sushi buffet at Hana Japanese Steakhouse this past Monday Jan 2 2017. The sushi rolls and other food were good, but they dont have many choices for the buffet. The waitress was nice when you first ordered or handed in paper for the buffet. However, when your ordered more than they expected, the quality of food was decreasing. For example, I ordered fried caramari; it came in 5 nicely done rings. The second order came in with the tiny end of squid. First bowl of Miso soup had some of seaweed and a couple pieces of tofu. The second bowl, I got just soup broth. Well, I prefer another place more. PS: The waitress was sick on that day, she had her running nose. I understand people have to work to pay bills, but at least, you could blow your nose back there before you came out and serve your customers.

Oo lord out of all the places to dine, especially with AYCE sushi- there are better Service is super super duper slow! No sashimi! Food is ok, sushi is packed with rice! Did I say slow service like dont get mad if youre waiting 10 minutes with an empty cup and plate, or to give in your order. Server was nice but sure the owners make them be inefficient for AYCE guests, service seems prompt for hibachi folks. Skip this place!

We went strictly for sushi this time and it was quite good. Not the best I have ever had, but everything was very fresh and very tasty. Service was quick. My only concern is we went on a Friday night from 7:30 to 9:30 pm and the place was an absolute ghost town. O know on Valentines day it is next to impossible to get a seat. Will they survive to the next Valentines day in six months?

Food had no taste, the cook we had almost put me to sleep and you have to pay for everything separate and it was super expensive. Noble In Southington is great you get soup/salad rice/noodles with your order and it comes out cheaper than Hana. They will never get my money again.

I have gone to this place for many years. It has good food, but it is relatively over priced. The thing I loved the most was their all you can eat for 22.95 but they just got rid of it. My bill has soared because of it. I must say that Hana has gone downhill in the last year.
