Not impressed. Went here for lunch with a group of 14. Waitress took the drink orders, took the food orders, delivered the drinks, brought bread, delivered the food, took away the plates, brought the check. A chance at a drink refill would have been nice, I was thirsty when I left. I ordered an Italian sausage sandwich with peppers & onions along with onion rings. Note to apprentice cook: first you cook the sausage, then you cut it in half to put in the bread. Dry, dry, dry! If there had been two less pieces of pepper or onion then they wouldnt have needed to use the plural form of pepper & onion. Another note to apprentice cook: you shouldnt place the sausage lengthwise across the narrow side of the bread. Having 2 inches of sausage sticking out of each side of the sandwich is annoying. I would not go here again.

This restaurant is one of the cities historical landmarks. It has been in business for years. Chateau is very well known and respected among Waltham natives as one of the best restaurants in the area. In fact, many people recommend it as a good Italian restaurant to have dinner; however, if you have had real Italian food in the past and have high expectations going into this place, you will be disappointed once you walk out of this establishment. You have to go to this restaurant knowing that you will be having “American food” inspired by Italian cuisine. Italian food has personality, flavor and color (thyme, basil, garlic, oregano); qualities that the food at chateaus has in scarcity. If you think Chateau is good Italian food, you have never had tasted real Italian cuisine.

Not what it used to be ordered yesterday couple pizzas and chicken parm family meal first they over charged us by 12$ the girl was very rude on the phone food was horrible pizza was burnt and the toppings couldnt be found with a telescope the chicken was dried out the toasted ravs where cold and not as many as we used to get plus the gave us and the sauce 2 small containers when we used to get quart containers no parmesan cheese which they used to supply it looks like they are caring more about money than they are there loyal customers like i said NOT what it used to be stay away

I have been to The Chateau many times growing up around here. There is nothing that will blow you away but the basics are very solid. They have exceptional Toasted Raviolis and the Chicken Parmigiana is seasoned very well. They always have fresh bread which is also used for their delicious cheesy garlic bread. If you are looking for inexpensive basic Italian then this is a good spot to try. If you are looking for something a little more authentic with a smaller more intimate setting I would suggest Fiorellas on the other side of town.

First time visit here. I went with my boyfriend who took me here for Valentines Day. Despite being very busy and we did not have reservations we were seated in "The Ruby Room" within 15 minutes. Our waitress was friendly, professional and attentive. Our food was cooked to perfection and was served rather quickly considering how packed they were. We were so full from our portions that we could not order desserts. This is definitely a restaurant we will be returning to, maybe even with the kids since they are family friendly.

Nice atmosphere, but poor service. We waited 10 minutes after being seated before our drink orders were taken and before any silverware was given to us. I went for at least 15 minutes with an empty drink, waiting for the invisible waitress to finally attend to our table. Plus, she and the staff werent very friendly. I had the manicotti, which was a HUGE serving, but the taste was rather bland. Also, my shrimp cocktail appetizer was not up to snuff. Overall, an okay place, but it does not live up to its potential.

I actually love the Chateaus food, but having been to both the Norwood and Waltham locations with my friends and family, I can honestly say Ive never once felt welcomed there. I went out with colleagues one day and was called "chocolate" by a drunk patron who grabbed my wrist and held me at his table, while the wait staff pointedly ignored the situation, I vowed never to go back. My father loves the food and feels its ok that we get looked at like pandas at a zoo, but I think its disgraceful.

When my wife and I did a take out order of side order of cheese raviolis, the raviolis were shaped in a rather large egg shaped ravioli and they tasted rather hard and doughy. She was accustomed to the regular size ravioli, square shape and tender. She was not happy and barely finished them. We were told to complain about this, so people would know that when they order raviolis, watch out, and ask the server what is going on. So, be aware when you order.

I thought the food I had was good. The initial impression this place has given me the three times Ive been is that I was lucky to be eating here. How about teaching the greeting folks how to actually greet someone? . If Im going to drop $50 for 2 people I expect to be treated well. There are plenty of places to eat Italian food; I wont be back here too soon.

I liked the food. To all those that would rather make comments about the comments from others, I just have to say, everyone has their opinions, every place has good days and bad days, and every menu has good and bad selections. If you want to make a comment, give your best honest opinion, but do us all a favor and refrain from bashing others.

Wonderful family atmosphere, fantastic food! My family, multiple generations have been going to this restaurant; it grew from a little hole in the wall place to multiple well-known locations around the area, all without losing that family run feel. I always and most heartily recommend the toasted ravioli.

Went for a.dinner with the family. Service was extrely slow. Shrimp scampi was loaded with oil. Other dinners were warm. It took for ever for them to take order and long time to get the food. They did not charge us for desert and apologized for poor service and all the problems with the order.
