Puerto Vallarta has good authentic Mexican food. I like this place and have gone many times. There ceviche is one of the best. Really good and should not be missed. They also have good Micheladas that are very generous in size. When you get the check you will find the prices to be very good. Now to the reason it does not get a 5 star. If it were for the food and the staff I would have rated it much better. And the reason has nothing to do with it not being fancy. When you go to this kind of place you dont expect anything fancy. My issue is only safety. I have been there with friends and family and on occasion found my/there safety questioned. If Puerto Vallarta were to fix this issue I would be there a lot more. I still go and have found that if you just avoid the evening (meaning after 3) you are fine. I hope you will try this place some afternoon.

Horrible service, the waitress only came to drop off our food and pick up our plates. Never refilled the drinks even when our water cups were empty. The waitresses would gather around in the back to talk. When we ordered a drink the waitress just walked away. They charged 15% tip on the ticket. Which personally they did not deserve. The only good thing was the music.

The horchata was bad, no flavor at all. The shrimp in the cocktail was bad. My cup was dirty it had something red inside and outside. The waitress never came to the table to refill water or ask if we needed anything, they were in the back talking.

Good food and friendly service. Pretty much all a restaurant needs. The back is a little dark for my tastes but the booths at the front are nice event if there isnt much of a view. I liked all the artwork. Very colorful.

ordered an appetizer and a soup, they came together, so dont order an appetizer if you want to eat something while you wait. but if you want to drink the service is good, and dont order the fettuccine
