I consider myself to be knowledgeable about coffee. I also usually buy my beans from Starbucks. I do this because even though the beans were probably roasted a few months before my purchase, the vacuum seal keeps them fresh for quite a while, so long as they arent ground. That said, I think Im going to be buying my beans from Wildfire from now on for several reasons: The first is the benefit of knowing exactly where your beans came from and when they were roasted. My visit to Wildfire produced beans that were roasted on that very day. The second, the beans are cheaper than what I normally get at Starbucks, which confuses me, but Im not going to complain. You also the benefit of supporting local business and not giant corporations, if thats your thing. Theres no doubt that these folks know their coffee. They even brew it well, too, with my black coffee boasting a wonderful aroma and full flavor that you only get by using the recommended two tablespoons of grounds per six ounces of coffee. The beans may be only moderately better than what you may find at Starbucks, but the coffee is leaps and bounds over the chain. The desserts look a hell of a lot better, too.

A small shop with very little personality. Owners are not particularly tech savvy so have a lot of problems keeping the WIFI up. They password protected their WIFI and have problems diagnosing password encryption issues. I get the feeling they dont want people using the WIFI as very rarely is anyone sitting in the shop with their laptop. Place is usually pretty dead, coffee ok but nothing spectacular. Owners seem to really like it went customers buy their coffee, spend money and then LEAVE. Pastries and muffins look a bit stale; like they have been under the glass for a few too many days.

I was visiting from out of town and been trying different coffee shops and been disappointed with each one... either no selection or no brewing variety, baristas that know nothing. This coffee shop was the best. They offer any brewing method you could want... even a siphon! They also have multiple kinds of coffee to choose from and baristas that actually know what theyre talking about... and best of all, a great cup of coffee! Thank you!

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, clean store. Unfortunately, I did not like their coffee. I am not a coffee snob by any means but I do prefer it black. I can respect that they roast their own coffee beans, but unfortunately my coffee tasted burnt - even for a dark roast. I will try again another day, but I have to lower my rating since theyre a coffee shop with bad unadulterated coffee. Maybe go for a latte.

Close to work;) However coffee was served in a styrofoam cup like a HS football game... Young lady was nice, Old guy making coffee didnt seem like he wanted to be ther or that I was there. And looking on their website, I know, you had to change your name. Big deal!? The blog is depressing... lol. Closings, people leaving, nothing about their coffee. Coffee was ok tho.

Loved chatting with the employee who helped me! He was very responsive to all of my coffee-related questions. In short, Mildfire is one of the few "local" coffee shops that actually roasts their own beans, and their roast is amazing. Im pretty picky about my coffee, but what I got here hit the spot. I ended up taking a bag home! I highly recommend it!

One of the very few things that I missed about San Antonio, Wildfire Roasters is reminiscent of the coffee shops back in the late 80s/early 90s, where it was all about great coffee, great customer service, and a great ambiance to chill out with some friends. Staff were always friendly, and very accomodating, and never had a problem with the WiFi there.

I get home open my coffee bag and its all burned ..hopefully they will fix this issue tomorrow. So i returned today 3/25 and was able to exchange for another bag and different flavor, not burned as bad but still it was also burned .... terrible roasting...I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL...I WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN!!! Waste of money..

I dont even like coffee, but needing a WiFi spot, I was drawn here by the hilarious description on their website. I explained my dislike of coffee but went with their recommendation of an iced vanilla latte, which was delicious. Fun and friendly people, chill music, groovy atmosphere. I will gladly come back and try more.

The coffee is great and fresh. The cafe is spacious and comfortable. The people working there are really friendly. Free wifi and a great place to study or read on your own (on your own b/c the tables are only for 2 people). Highly recommended.

On a recent trip to San Antonio, my husband and I stopped here for a cuppa joe. The shop was cute and quirky, the coffee was very tasty and the service was friendly and fast. Ill definitely hit it up the next time Im down that way. Good stuff!

I really wanted to support a local roaster. The coffee was okay. It seemed a touch on the burned side especially for a light roast. I couldnt justify the pricing considering the aggressive competition ~ BRCC.
