I had a nightmarish evening las night at this restaurant. First let me say, that the food is excellent. The service wasnt bad either. But the management? Awful! This restaurant is owned by the same company that owns Ninja Sushi and Tomo of Plymouth. They chose to go with Groupon and that was a mistake on their part. I went in to the restaurant with an expired groupon with a paid value of 15.00. I followed the terms on the groupon and got a dinner food item for 15.00. At this point, the manager came to my table and told me I had to spend 30.00 to use it. I told her she was incorrect, and that she couldnt force me to buy any more than the dollars on the certificate, since that would be a bait and switch, and was illegal. No where on any terms and conditions they had set was this mentioned. So while I was eating, she called groupon customer service and shoved the phone in my face, to talk to a customer service rep. I confirmed with groupon that I did not have to spend one penny more than was on the certificate, and that she had to honor it. ( I did that today since the rep last night was confused about what I was saying.) I repeated to her that I would not buy anything more and that the only payment for the entree she would get was what was on the groupon, and I left. They had also given me black beans with soy sauce on them, to which I am allergic, and I had notified the waiter that I couldnt eat soy sauce. When I am eating with an unexpired groupon, I consistently spend more than the value of the certificate, and tip the waiter 20% on the full value. I will never go to any of their restaurants again. Ive had too many problems with customer service at their restaurants. I had my daughters graduation party at Tomo Plymouth, and since it was also her birthday, the waiter brought her some ice cream. The manager then told him that he would have to pay for it, as it was not their policy to give away birthday ice cream. The total on the bill was over 300.00, and she was arguing over ice cream? The waiter said that she gave it to Korean customers, but was not giving it to us because we were white. We made sure to pay him the extra amount in his tip. But seriously, this is how they treat a large party? That manager moved on to one of their other restaurants, and we havent had problems in Plymouth since. But these people clearly have no idea how to treat customers.

Ive been here several times with friends and also gotten carryout from them almost on a weekly basis. Their sushi is fantastic, I love eel, but every time Ive been in, Ive tried something else (even sea urchin :P) and have yet to be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable for a sushi place and with the location in mind I would even go so far as to say well below other prices in the area. I will be back, no question, just perhaps be prepared to be rushed as they can be busy especially later in the day and especially during lunch hours so be prepared to wait. Google offers a great business traffic tool that shows you how busy a business is at a certain time its saved me tons of time and headaches in the past (just a tip). (I highly recommend calling in your order if youre doing carryout at least 15 - 20min ahead of time, for your sake and theirs). Their udon soup is amazing also, :) Sorry Naruto; Youve met your match because this place rocks.

(Updated October 2016) The restaurant change name back to Tomo because of an allegation of a restaurant of the old name Haru in different state, an waitress said. (Original review in year 2015) The new management changed name to Haru in early 2015 and changed menu by eliminating most Korean dishes and concentrated on Japanese dishes. The Japanese dishes are very authentic, and not Americanized. They have very good sashimi and sushi. Ramen is good as well. Dont expect to find rolls like so called Michigan roll or Dragon roll here. Instead you will love the nigiri and sashimi. The attention to the choice of raw ingredient and the preparation is appreciable.

Everything from the curry to ramen. Even appetizers of fried chicken destroy your taste buds and stomach making you wonder how this place has good rating. At the beginning is was better, but recently it has gotten worse. The food has a bad after taste with the fried chicken tasting like they heated it up in the microwave. The ramen tastes like nothing but the noodles that they put in, its supposed to be ramen taste not noodles alone. The curry is just cheapest boxed curry you can get. Sadly I dont recommend Tomo Sushi and Karaoke. Oh the sushi it aint fresh.

Staff were pleasant. The place was quiet even though there was karaoke in the back. I didnt even notice until a patron asked where the karaoke was. The food was okay but not like the Tomo im familiar with in Indiana. Not sure if there related or not but this location did recently go through a name change. The food was fine but didnt overly impress me. The crunchy crab roll was okay, the deep fried soft crab was average. It was cooked too well where you couldnt really taste the crab.

Excellent sushi, perhaps the best sushi I have had other than sushi from the West Coast. Found Haru using YELP! and Ive been back multiple times since then. The wait staff are friendly and very knowledgable about each dish. The cooks are also friendly and are masters at their craft. If you can sit by the sushi bar as the cooks are a pleasure to watch while they make your food. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good sushi.

They appear to be under new management as their menus have a different name on it. The sushi was excellent, great variety of "traditional" roles and roles that seem to be a house specialty. All of them were of good quality and size, price was reasonable. Only get a markdown because they almost forgot one of our rolls (egg sushi), but brought it promptly when asked about it. I plan to return here in the future!

Ate here with my girlfriend. Great prices for good qualities of authentic Japanese food. The seafood tasted fresh and nice presentation of the platters. Fast service and friendly staff. Its in a strip mall and the frontage is kinda small so it took a minute to spot, its to the left of the Korean grocery store. Its bigger than it looks from outside. Decor was nice with various Japanese artwork and such.

Good curry noodles and chicken katsu. The meat was very tender and good. But it feels more Americanized and more Japanese than Korean. They didnt have bibimbap and the music is top 40. Kinda like something youd expect to see in Royal Oak. If you want a more authentic Korean dining experience, go next door. Otherwise, this place is still great with good service and clean establishment.

安心して食べることができる日本食。ただ量は多い。カツ丼を食べたけど丼がラーメン鉢みたいな感じ。3ドルで小うどんつけることができる。うどんはなぜか関西風。美味しくいただきました。

So much fun!!! We had a group of 10 people and got a room for karaoke. They had a wide range of songs which was awesome. They also served drinks and had snacks! The girl running the karaoke was so sweet and accommodating! We ran an hour late but she still reserved our room for us. We will definitely be coming back!!
