Avoid this black mark of a restaurant if you want to enjoy a good time with friends or family. This is a long review, but I felt its important people know what happened with me and my family. Do you enjoy being stared at by restaurant staff simply because you are enjoying a good conversation with friends during your meal? Do you like being handed the receipt before your food arrives? Do enjoy paying restaurant prices for fast food service? If so you will enjoy being abused at this branch that gives a bad name to Hotel Saravanaa Bhavan. In the many years Ive eaten at a restaurant, Ive never been outright asked to leave a restaurant. You may wonder why. Was it because I was drunk or talking too loud? The truth it seems is that the main goal of this restaurant is to turn customers around as quickly as possible by getting you in and out fast. As soon as your food is served, youll be on the clock. God forbid its a busy weekend, because the eagle eyes of the restaurant staff will have you on a timer. Hows the food? Mediocre at best. With so many options for good South Indian food, you are better off going anywhere but here. The food was salty and much too oily compared to even other branches we have been to. We complained to the waiter about this, but they didnt care. Hows the service? Useless! Youre lucky to have someone take your order, and once you order, youre lucky if they come back. You literally have to flag down random staff because your waiter will probably be somewhere else. If you add something to your order, you will have to remind them later, because we ordered coffee and it never arrived. Instead, we got a bill within 15 minutes of our food being served. You start getting hints that they want you to leave when they start removing your plates as soon as THEY think you are done, not when you are actually done. If you remind them you are still eating, they will come back every 5-10 minutes to check. After just 30 minutes after the food was served and while our son was still finishing his food, the mustached manager came to tell us to vacate our seats because he needed to seat other people. We were shocked and embarrassed at such rudeness. Does hospitality end when the food is served? I reminded him that a restaurant does just succeed by making money, but only when patrons can enjoy their meal. He didnt care, which sums up the attitude here.

Was very enthused to go to their new location closer to home only to find out that I would never be going back due to their terrible staff and service. Chutney, being a basic human right at a south indian restaurant, was denied to me. When I asked for more chutney they seemed hesitant and then when I asked for more, our server said "finish that first then ill bring u more" (as if he was my dad!) We asked for splenda with coffee which he forgot to bring out and when we asked again he took a really long time to bring it out by which time my was coffee was cold. Their staff should be trained in professionalism and to be respectful to their customers. Now I drive to a further sarvana bhavan for better service and food. Step up your game milpitas sarvana!

Very Pathetic Service!!!! I wouldnt have given even 1 rating. I went last week there had mini ghee idly and I asked for coconut chutney on the side which they gave. However, today when I went there for a TO-GO order and I asked same extra coconut chutney with mini idly and sambar, the female at the counter completely refused to give it. She said I have to pay for it. I said I have never seen such a Customer Service, Sunnyvale Saravana Bhavan is much better than this and I am definitely going to give you a bad review. To which she replied "You can give bad review if you want but you cant get chutney on the side". I mean seriously, you give some service to a Customer and next time refuse to give it. Worst Customer Service ever.

Not so great experience on two occasions.. First, they put my cell on hold for 15 minutes when I had canned to place an order to go after which I just hung up and drove up directly. Next time, they didnt come to us with the menu for about 10 minutes after which I lost my cool and demanded for it. People that serve have absolutely no idea of what good service means. Theyre in their own rush, pushing customers around, leaving plates on the table without caring about who ordered it. The food is very mediocre and very strong in taste with heavy masala - nothing like the actual Saravana Bhavan in Chennai. I could go on and on, but I guess Ive made my point.

Zero star. Food was ok. CUSTOMER Service was VERY POOR!! Not recommended ! I visited this place today at 2:45 pm. What a warm welcome by the hostess. There is no respect for the customers and they were keen on closing the store. I was eating the Rava Dosai which I could not enjoy. As I was eating, the lady brought the check and asked the credit card immediately. It was ridiculous that the next guy came & ask me to sign the check while I was eating. PLEASE have some courtesy for the customers. If yiu want to close the store early, dont let the customers in prior to 30 minutes of closure. I hope annachi will fix these issues

As others have mentioned, they dont care about customers. Do not come here. The service is absolutely awful and the food is not good. The first guy to take our order was rude and asking for our order the second we sat down. Then after getting a new waiter who took our order we ended up with one dosa coming out burnt and another one missing. They thought it was OK to bring out the burnt one and then gave us attitude when we asked for it to be remade. Please do not come here. The manager, Raj, asked me to post his name on my review to prove how much he didnt care.

No doubt its good place for vegetarians, but serving the order takes place more time. Its almost an hour that ai waited for my order, placed three dishes and got one in 5-10 mins after that they comoletely forgot us and we sat for almost an hour still no food. When we checked with the waiter he said will check in the kitchen and he didnt returened back. Still waiting for my order. Its sk ridiculos.

You know how some people kills it for everyone else? Yes there are a few people here who just cant respect their customers. They tell you how much of curry you need to eat with your bread. I have been to their restaurant in all three locations and their staff needs to seriously learn how to speak. Good food and decent ambiance but Im sorry I am never going back to a place that lacks respect.

Food is good.service can improve it took 15 mins to take our orders but they got them in few mins .tables are too small to place the foods if you order more than 1 dish.water jug and water glass are cheap dollar store stuffs .Aurora Balaji temple pongal prasad is better than the pongal served here. Waited 15 mins to get the cheque.dont wait for the service guys to come to your table .
