I knew when when my husband and I were seated that it wasnt going to be a good experience with at least the customer service. The young man who sat us seemed disgruntled at the world. He didnt say a word, nor did he smile, just pointed at the table and walked away. The table where we sat had speakers right overhead ~ and the piped in music was very loud. We couldnt get the attention of the young man at the desk, so we just moved ourselves to another open table. It went downhill from there! The waitress seemed impatient and distracted. As the restaurant became busier, the noise level increased; it was impossible to have a conversation for the volume of the music and the loudness of the voices. The soup, salad and sushi appetizer we ordered came fairly quickly. The Miso soup and salad was okay; for soup and salad. The sushi was very good and the presentation was attractive. After an extremely long wait our main dishes finally arrived. My Vegetable Tempura was okay. Nothing spectacular; my husband ordered the Pad Thai Shrimp; he said once the shrimp was gone, the rest of the dish was bland, uneventful. Our waitress was very amiable to folks who were getting Sushi dishes, but folks who ordered from the kitchen, she couldnt be bothered! We both agreed the Sushi dishes looked fantastic and their presentation was lovely. It isnt difficult to see what others are eating as the tables are very close together (especially those against the wall). We finally flagged her down for our check, she dropped it off at at table, and that was it. She never returned. We finally left our table to pay at the cashier. My husband left the tip on the table. We hadnt even made the register when my husband noticed our waitress had removed the tip from the table. It was remarkable that she couldnt be bothered to take our payment, but within 20 seconds she had taken her tip! When I tried to express to the cashiers about my disappointed experience, they simply smiled and nodded their heads. We decided that Hachi Japanese Restaurant is worth taking home Sushi versus sitting in for a meal. We both can highly give a resounding yes for the Sushi! But a disappointing No for service and lackluster main dishes. The two stars are both for the Sushi ~ if it wasnt for that it would be no stars!

This is such a great restaurant. It has a really good, modern feel to it. The staff are all really nice, and it has a good ambiance. The music is loud enough that you can hear it, but its only too loud if the place is totally empty, which it rarely is. The food is delicious. The rolls arent these tiny things -- theyre a pretty decent size, made right in front of you if youre sitting at the sushi bar, which is a super cool experience. The average price is $15-20, which I think is very good for such high quality sushi. I especially recommend the rainbow kimono roll. Its gorgeous and delicious. Hachi also has an excellent range of salads and surf and turf, if sushi isnt your thing. Then, to finish it off, they have a wide range of desserts, with a lot of really unique flavors of ice cream like carmel cashew, pineapple coconut, and cinnamon. The carmel cashew is my favorite.

First Id like to say that Ive been to countless sushi restaurants all over PA and after my first visit here, instantly became my #1 spot! Sushi rolls were exceptionally fresh, flavorful and bold. Also a huge selection of signature rolls is available. The place itself is super clean, modern, inviting and service staff is helpful and friendly. BIG note about the place that really set it apart from other sushi joints for me was the fact these guys do their own twists on a lot of classic menu items! For example, Ive ordered little neck miso soup which was delicious and new to me. As well as signature rolls have been reworked a little, like they still have spider roll but also have Dynamite Spider roll. My personal favorite and instant hit for me was their Hachikaze roll. If youre a fan of Ooka, this place blows it out of the water, definitely give it a try.

We go to Hachi often for lunch. We love the food. Usually get sushi , hibachi or teriyaki. Last night my son was in from college and we got takeout. We ordered a ton of stuff including 2 chicken teriyaki $18 each. When we got it home I thought they gave us the wrong food. The portion was 1 chicken thigh with the bone so small , a 1/4 ear of corn and literally a piece of broccoli rabe. I called and the young man was rude and said thats the dinner portion! So at lunch you get a very large chicken breast boneless , rice, soup , salad and a large serving of broccoli rabe for $12 ???? Im very disappointed- just be aware of portion sizes at dinner and ask if something is the same.

Needs a little improvement in the service department, though I cant be exactly sure whether this is just the situation for late lunch. Weve ordered an Omakase, which came magnificently serviced with an ice sculpture and fish that was delicious like Ive not tasted in quite awhile. Tuna, Salmon, Mackerel, Snapper, etc, etc, etc. Presentation of the food other than an Omakase was also wonderful and the Spicy seafood soup was as they say "just what the doctor ordered" Usually places like this you dont find the level of service and food presentation like this but this restaurant is a welcome exception.

My wife and I went to Hachi on one of the few dates we get to go on having a 22 month old, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. We got an appetizer, entree, and desert, and each course was some of the best food each of us had ever had. I highly recommend going here especially on a nice date night, it is very unassuming from the outside, but once you are inside the restaurant is clean, well laid out, and has a great environment and vibe. We loved it please check it out for yourselves!

My new favorite place. They have some great food with a laid back atmosphere. The music is relaxing and the wait staff never made us feel rushed. My wife has a severe gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. She had a very large selection to choose from. Price is reasonable and I highly recommend the teriyaki chicken steam buns for a starter.

Excellent food and going back tonight for takeout Pad Thai. We were here for the first time Leap Day; had the Carpaccio – Filet Mignon which was fabulous. We then split Seafood Udon, also an excellent choice, fish was fresh and very tasty. Service was excellent along with the atmosphere. A little pricey but, well worth it! Dont forget to BYOB!!!
