Considering this countrys health crisis, finding a restaurant such as Tofu Hut is truly a breath of fresh air. Restaurants that serve an entire menu of healthy and scrumptious options are hard to find, and many times when you do find them they’re pretty bad, aka: bland, boring, and for some odd reason the service staff make me question their sense of hygiene. Tofu Hut is NOT one of these places. I have had the privilege to come to this particular restaurant more than once and every single time it has been an absolutely delightful place to eat as well as an adventure for my taste buds. When I am able to enjoy food at this wonderful restaurant I sincerely do wish my mouth was bigger. I have had numerous dishes at this amazing place, and so far not a single disappointment has been served up with the delicious platter placed in front of me. The only two issues I have with Tofu Hut is that the prices are kind of steep, and the wait time from ordering to being served is pretty long. Let me assure you though, once your food makes its slow motion entrance to your table, both of those slight problems evaporate as the steam lifts from the meticulously prepared delicacy placed ever so carefully upon your dish.

They have vegan cupcakes! I had the German Chocolate vegan cupcake. It was more brownie like than cake like in texture. The frosting was hard and too much. Over all it was a good, 4/5. They have a good selection of food on the menu. I had the spring rolls and sweet and sour tofu. The spring rolls fell apart when eating. They have a lot of lettuces and bean sprouts in them. 3/5 on the spring rolls. The sweet and sour tofu was a good portion. It is fried tofu cubes, red bell peppers, onions, pineapple and rice in a sweet and sour sauce. The fried tofu has a good texture and taste. The inside has the usual bland tofu taste. The sauce was overpoweringly sweet. That made everything else but the tofu taste monotone half way through the mean. I still say it is a good dish, 4/5. The service was very good. They were not very busy so that maybe why the waitress came by frequently. She let us stay past closing out on the back deck which was very nice. They have very nice out door dinning on their deck. They are vegan/vegetarian friendly. There is parking in the back.

I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I have great meals, other times the service or food is inconsistent. Its a quiet place with something for everyone. They have many vegan options, though only a couple Id actually eat. One time, I got a $10 green salad that was way overpriced, with mass-produced, thickened berry dressing and a couple of huge, unripe tomato wedges - thats when I wished I was at Lemongrass paying a dollar more for a masterpiece salad instead. Our favorite dish is the sake tofu! And gyoza appetizer (cant remember if they call them gyoza or dumplings). The cupcakes are great, when available - they usually have vegan and gluten free options. Id buy dessert more often if it was just a little cheaper - Id even go there just to get the cupcakes and stay for a meal. Family friendly!

I go here all the time, its my favorite restaurant. The tofu is amazing and all there sauces have wonderful flavor. The service is truly a hit or miss. There is one server there who obviously is overwhelmed when she is working. She never asks how my food is and walks away when me (or other people im with) are talking to her. This is hands down the worst service Ive ever received from anyone and she is the primary server who is working. This isnt just a one time instance either, its every week or so. The only reason i go back is because the food is so great. If I was rating the restaurant purely on their food I would give it a five star. This individual just makes the mood of the place chaotic and she shouldnt be working in customer service.

They are under new owners Im thinking. I walked in smell was first red flag. Then they repainted it,paint all over the beautiful floors and splashed around with no care. Absolutely no decorations at all. It was a cold ambiance they painted it light blue. They took a permanent marker and crossed off many items. Which then transfered all over tables. Took waitress over 5 minutes to come greet us. There was only 2 people in restaurant. We got up and left. I did not a good vibe. I adored this restaurant for many years. Just had a nagging feeling to bolt! Huge believer of Trust your instincts!

I really enjoyed the fact that the Tofu Hut presents itself first as a vegetarian restaurant, but then you find that they serve meat as well. I got the V8 with pork. The pork was a little dry, but if theyre used to cooking tofu maybe I shouldnt expect too much re: the meat. The other thing was that not all the dishes had heat. I had to add sriracha sauce to mine - which isnt bad, just noting it. Over all, I enjoyed the meal and look forward to eating there again, even though I live in Tacoma.

I ordered a bit garden bowl from the Salad menu. I dont know the dish they were trying to recreate, but it came with a large amount of broth in the bottom of the dish. This was not mentioned in the description of the dish, though all other aspects were. Because of this I did not enjoy the dish. I also had fresh spring rolls. I thought everything i had was bland. I have eaten here years before and enjoyed it, but this really did not live up to the past or food I would want to eat again.

I discovered this place completely by accident, but Im glad I did. Their cuisine is novel, authentic and unlike anything else youre likely to find in the Olympia / Lacey / Tumwater area. Their prices are also quite reasonable given the quality of the dishes they serve and the pleasant ambience of the place. If youre at all interested in Asian food, you definitely need to check this place out! (And no, Im not a shill, just a regular customer ;-) )

The Bulgogi and roll sampler appetizer are always excellent at Tofu Hut, the peanut sauce that comes with the spring rolls is probably some of the best Ive ever had. I tried a couple bites of a noodle dish the other night that was also delicious. The service is always great too plus food comes out quickly especially on slow nights so thats always a plus when eating with a toddler. We will definitely be back soon!

We go here for the bulgogi - it is insanely good! As well as their fresh spring rolls. ❤️ We have to give a shout out to Chad, as well. We recently went again Monday night and it was the busiest weve ever seen it. We got our order to go, however we couldnt help but be impressed how he flew around. Despite it being so busy, the tables were cleaned and everyone cared for. He very works hard, you can tell.

Its true what many are saying, that the food is a bit overpriced. There are, however, many vegan options. I always have the Teriyaki Yakisoba noodles and they have always been delicious and flavorful. Oftentimes they will have a vegan cupcake or two and all of the ones Ive tried have been amazing. Considering the lack of vegan restaurant options in the Olympia/Lacey area, Id say this place is pretty okay!
