Lets Review
I purchased a Groupon as a Mothers Day dinner. I made sure I chose the Burr Ridge location as indicated on the Groupon. Groupon led me through to make a reservation through their app. I received a text confirming my reservation. When we arrived and there was no reservation, the girl at the front seemed nervous and got the manager. The manager rudely told us they dont do Groupon and that theyre booked for the night. Leaving me no options... He said that Groupon didnt inform him and they dont do reservations through text/Groupon. After going back and forth several times showing reservation text and my Groupon....he said we could eat in but not do the hibachi, but would take the value of the Groupon. We settled...which was still frustrating. The service wasnt good. The food was OK. Ive had much better Pad Thai. The bathroom was so dark and the stalls were so small you can barely maneuver. We will not be going back and I have informed my family and friends to not visit this restaurant. So much for a pleasant Mothers day dinner. Seems like other peoples reviews lately are right in line with mine. Also, it seems like the location of this Dao is in a very uppity area...so that could be an added reason for the rudeness.

Please do not spend your money here. Horrible service from the waitress up to the owner. Came in for a family party of 24 on a Wednesday night. They did not have enough plates or forks. Let that sink in for a second... Not only was the service horrible, they screwed up our order and refused to remove the charge on our card. They also charge for the hot sauce (sriracha). Ordered 9 of those for our party having no clue of this nonsense. Complained to the active manager at the time who claimed to have talked to the owner and said they could not fix our bill besides removing the hot sauce charges. I asked to talk to the owner and the manager said that I can call in the next day. I told him to call her back and let her know we just spent $500 on a Wednesday night, still said no. If you are looking to have a big party, DO NOT give this place any of your money. There are plenty of other sushi/thai options around the area.

Visiting from out of town and our hotel was near here so gave it a try, everything was amazing! Oysters were $3/piece, but they were good size (a playing card) and very fleshy. Sashimis were very fresh and tender. Im not a fan of tom yum soup with coconut milk, but they made it very light yet the flavors were very strong at the same time. Though under the soup section, there was enough meat and veggies to be a meal of its own. On the other hand, I normally order coconut shrimp as an appetizer, but they have it as an entree here. There was about a dozen jumbo shrimps placed on lettuce with a sweet glaze and sugar glazed pecans. It was an amazing combination of flavors and my only complaint is that I wished they used sweet coconut shreds instead of plain ones. Highly recommend this place and would go back the next time I visit chicago.

This place was OK. It seems to be the only sushi place in Burr Ridge so we tried it. We like to sit at the bar and appreciate a bartender who knows how to make us feel welcome. This was lacking at Dao. It took forever to get another drink once we finished and when we did ask for more drinks the girl almost seemed bothered by it (even though we were the only people at the bar). The burr ridge roll was excellent but the rest of the sushi seemed average. The ambiance of this place is cool and their music selection is great if you like lounge-house-chill sounds. When its cold out there is a huge gust of air that hits you when the door opens if youre sitting at the bar. This place is ok but would I return? Eh, I guess if its my best option, I might.

I was very disappointed. We had a large group, they gave us one server, so service was very slow. Half way through my hibachi meal she suddenly remembered the rice. But the worst of it was I was paying for everyones meals and they paid for their own drinks. They therefore tipped the server for their own drinks. Then I get my bill and I was charged 18% for the meals AND the drinks AND on the tax! That is completely unethical. I called three times, they gave me the run-around telling me the manager would return my calls, but he didnt. So I went in and they continued to argue with me that what they did was fine. This restaurant is dishonest, very low class and cares nothing about customer service. Obviously I will never go back.

We bought a groupon, excited for hibachi only to find out they had 3 tables before ours waiting for the 1 chef they had working! Being with a 1.5 year old we knew that wasnt going to work and instead of ruining others experience we opted to dine in the sushi part of the room plus now times ticking after having waiting it out 15 min with no drinks or any waitress. Thai was mediocre, fried rice was cold! Sushi was surprisingly good. They did not honour the Groupon we bought, everyone seemed to not know what was going on!! Unorganized Rude and Disappointment will never be back!

UTTERLY DISAPPOINTING AND A COMPLETE RIP-OFF! I am a physician living in BR and can say I paid more for Hibachi here than what I would have in downtown Chicago. They charge an unreasonable amount even for children and added $5 just for a side of noodles for each child. When I complained, the manager made no changes and did not even bother coming over to explain. Would NOT recommend to anyone. Drive an extra ten minutes and go to Oakbrook for better dining at better value.

We go to Dao every chance we get. The food is excellent and the service is too. Everyone from the owner on down to the bartenders and servers is friendly and obviously enjoy what they are doing. They have rolls that you wont find anywhere else, and the care taken with each dish is wonderful. The wine list has some surprisingly good choices as well. Now they have a small Hibachi area which is really nice. I love this place!

The decor is great, but the food is only okay. They have your standard rolls, with some premium options added in, but nothing really stands out. Id stick with a Thai specific place if thats what youre craving. The place doesnt get too crowded during lunch, but I dont think thats a positive in this case. The staff is friendly, but they cant do much to increase the taste of the food.

Worst place I have ever been to! service is terrible! our waiter did not bring half the stuff we ordered and we waited a good 45 min for him and once he brought it he spilled a whole bowl of rice at my fiance. The hibachi bar Chinese guy looked liked he was forced to do his job or something. I would never expect a service like this. Train ur people!!!

Ive been going here for lunch at least once a week since they opened. They never fail to impress; whether Im picking up or eating there, the staff is always extremely friendly and quick. The sushi is some of the best Ive had in the Chicagoland area. The restaurant has decent prices, a great atmosphere, and awesome lunch specials.
