My experience with the Mountain House restaurant has been almost universally good. The restaurant has a nice dining area that has a rustic and relaxed feel to it. There are large windows in the dining hall which afford you good views of the forest and trees. It is a nice place for a relaxed romantic dinner for two or as just a nice meal with the family. In the summer months I think you can eat outside but I always seem to be there in the winter. There is a small bar and a big fire place when you walk in and this has a nice feel to it. If the dining hall is full you can order a meal and eat it at the bar. Good friendly service. Oh, and don’t forget to glance at the specials on the right hand wall just across from the bar. They often have something interesting. For desert I always go with the Chocolate Espresso Mouse.

We just got home from having a Valentines Day dinner here. Everything was outstanding; from the moment we walked in & were greeted, to having a special Valentines Day polaroid, to having an excellent & attentive waiter (Rick), to having the most delicious meal EVER!!! There are so many choices for every single course of your meal and it is all fantastic. We loved sitting in the atrium area, and being able to enjoy a rustic view at sunset. Jerry, the owner is great ~ a genuinely nice man. In fact; every employee there is friendly & attentive. We are SO, SO happy to have found a restaurant that satisfies our every need!

Last weekend this restaurant hosted my daughters wedding reception dinner. It was fabulous! The peaceful setting of the mountain forest, the elegant setup of the dinning room, the great service and excellent food all gave us a night to remember. If you want a romantic dinner for two, or to share a lovely evening with friends, go to this enchanted place. You will not be disappointed.

This place was excellent from its homey feeling to the service and the great tasting foods that you dont often find at other restaurants! The food was very good and the service also! Very friendly. The location was fantastic. Surrounded by all the Redwoods. You have to drive a long and very curvy road to get there. Its just a little bit to pricey! But I would go there again just because I liked the location so much and the food was yummy

Memorable dishes every time and every time everything is perfect. Service not too intrusive and eating among the Redwoods always satisfies. Good fish and seafood and always a hearty meat-menu. Topped by home made sorbets and granitas, my place for a special occasion where you dont get soaked.

A hidden gem. The dining room offers the full menu, but the front bar area has lighter fare. Excellent food and cocktails: duck confit spring rolls and pierogies with boar belly were excellent appetizers; the elk medallions were perfectly cooked medium-rare and delicious.

MS is a gem. Perfect place for a romatic dinner in the sun room to a great burger in the bar. The staff is awesome. Wine list could be more extensive so bring you favorite bottle. They know how to serve and treat it well.

I love the atmosphere, complete with wood-burning fireplace. I visited in December and they were well-decorated for Christmas. Food was tasty; I had the skirt steak with balsamic reduction sauce and sweet potato fries.

This is my familys favorite place to eat out for special occasions. Very warm atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. The food is really solid and I recommend one of the specials which is usually fish or steak.

Had they Wygu hanger steak over mash and the wife had the elk medalions over sweet tater mash. Elk had a fig sauce that was awesome. Desert was apple biegnets. Everything was great.
