While up at the Garden State Expo Center for a school competition the others in the group wanted to go to the shopping center with the Walmart to find something to eat but me not being too fond of the chain restaurants decided instead to take a chance at a local diner since I have usually done quite well at others. Prior to coming I did check out the Google reviews and decided to give the Manville Diner a chance. The first potential problem I saw however was that since I was driving the school bus I had to find a spot to park it and while driving through town I realized that might not be a possibility but then when I took a left turn to turn around and head back to the shopping center I noticed a street behind the stores on the main road that appeared to be offering plenty of areas to park a bus and so I did. It was only about a half block walk to the diner which was of course not much further than what I would have walked in the shopping center since the bus would have needed to be parked a little further out than what you would do with your car. When I entered the restaurant I noticed that just as I had expected it was a bit on the small side seating maybe 40 or so people but I kind of like diners like that so it was good. Looking over the menu I had no idea what to order since it was my first time but I saw the Chicken Parmesan, a dish I often order at local diners and decided to give it a try. The dinner included soup or salad of which I chose the Manhattan Clam Chowder which was a good choice, the 2 sides I got or pasta and then to top it off a desert which I chose the cheesecake which was also very good, not dry like some are elsewhere. My only complaint about the meal was that the chicken appeared to be frozen patties rather than fresh that were basically just heated up but when I went to eat it the taste of the sauce was so good that if they were frozen patties I did not notice it. If I am in the area again and looking for a place to eat or if asked by someone else where to go I will not hestitate to recommend the Manville Diner. The folks working here were excellent in their ability to have the food out at just the right time and oh I almost forgot they had some really good "home made" bread that came with the meal that I think was actually made there and not in someones home.

Waitress smells like pee like she needs to change her depends or something my salad was bitter af my husband had 2 bites of the burger and now has been in the toilet for an hour I hope he is okay. The soups are very salty. My sister in law and mother in law hated the dry ass meatballs and over cooked spaghetti everything was extremely disgusting. My husband told me he saw this was the 3rd best diner in nj I think he might of mistaken it for the 3rd worst diner in America!!

Great food that is obviously made from scratch on site. Large portions. All 4 in our party agreed that the food was great. Best onion rings and clam chowder that any of us ever had. The entrees were absolutely delicious! Wait till you taste the carrot cake - better than home made! We visited from Indiana and went here on recommendation of radio NJ 101.5. Great recommendation. Go there, NOW!

This diner is amazing, despite that fact that its very small and gets crowded in the morning. I get French toast every time I go with Turkey sausage(Yes they have Turkey sausage, along with some other healthy choices). The French toast its amazing. The portions are huge of course. Their chicken Cesar salad for dinner is also amazing and so big that is all you will need. I cant wait to go back there.

We just found this place, and fell in love immediately. Open-face Turkey Deluxe is awesome - 2 meals, easy. The Country Fried Steak & Eggs is another winner. And for some reason, their chocolate pudding tastes better than other diners, I dont know why. Small and busy, keep that in mind. And dont come for the decor, they put their attention into the food where it belongs.

Manville Diner, The one place where you can find what you looking for on the menu and if by chance you cant, Pete, George or Tony can usually make you what you want, if you can explain what it is you are looking for. Great place for a great meal, comfy atmosphere, good prices. Its a place where if they dont know you by name they soon will.

I have yet to have a bad meal at the Manville Diner, the portions are huuuuge, the food is inexpensive, and I always leave with a doggie bag from that I can get another lunch & even a snack out of. Its good old fashioned unpretentious food that reminds me of when I was growing up in New England. You cannot get a bad meal here.

Nope! Went there cause it was the only place open at 11:30 pm and what a disgusting hamburger! The waitress, damn bad bad, looked all dirty, her hair was a mess, I had those fries with cheese on top and eww. I was so hungry, fortunately my dog cause I gave her half of my order. I couldnt eat anymore the place was gross

First, there are less than 10 reviews. That tells you something. If you are a miserable #^@& then you will be right at home here. Keep driving to someplace inviting.
