I like Subway and usually pick them as my go-to sandwich shop. For years, I avoided the College St. subway because of problems with pricing and the attitude of the servers. I moved out of the area in 2004 and just moved back last spring (2011). This is the first time Ive been to the College St. Subway since returning. I figured 8 years was long enough to clean up their act. Nope. I went in May 5, 2012 at about 1 p.m. and ordered two 6 inch subs. The turkey sub and the tuna sub. Both were listed on their menu board as $4.50 per 6-inch sub, as well as a chocolate chip cookie for my son. On the turkey sub, I also requested bacon (an extra .50 cents). On the tuna sub, nothing extra was added. When they rang it up, the receipt listed the 6 inch turkey sub as $7.00, while the tuna sub was listed as $5.50. There was also the extra .50 cent charge for bacon, plus whatever they decided to charge for the cookie. Basically, nothing cost what it was represented on the menu. The total -- for two six-inch subs and a chocolate chip cookie -- came to $14.95. I tried to object. It was lunch hour and there was a line behind me. The cashier told me the extra charge was from the bacon. I tried to point out that the receipt didnt match the menu prices at all, and she told me they had other customers waiting. Im not real good at confrontation and I didnt want to be "that guy" who makes all the other customers wait while I argue over a couple dollars. So I bit my tongue, paid, and left. Ill probably notify the manager of the situation, but Im definitely not eating at the College St. Subway again. Every time I do, something like this happens. The sandwiches were good. But honestly, if Im going to pay $14 for sandwiches, Id rather treat myself to Wagners Bakery or Panera or something and have the whole-grain milled bread and avocado slices or sauteed mushrooms on my sandwich, with slices of Harvarti -- you know, the expensive and delicious stuff they dont have at Subway. Because Subway is supposed to be cheap.

Danielle was pleasant as soon as I walked in and was very upbeat and positive. Added bonus she also made a very delicious sandwich. Ive been eating Subway forever, way longer than I care to admit; I had my first "perfect sandwich" and rang the bell! I was starving so I sat and dined there. I noticed how clean every place was to sit usually finding a table without crumbs takes a second or have to clean one myself. Ive worked as a bartender and took pride in how people were treated and making sure my patrons were smiling and happy. It was easy for me to see the level of professionalism and pride the two ladies had behind the counter. Danielle and Eric were both very nice, polite, and friendly to every customer. I know where Ill be eating next time Im in the neighborhood. Thank you for an experience worth writing about!

If you are reading this right now, i am telling you do not waste your hard earned cash on this dump. Im serious these people are horribly rude and should be fired immediately. The blonde tweaker lady that works the graveyard is a straight up b word, not joking. If you try to tell her what you want she will rudely interrupt you and yell at you and tell you to speak up because she is the one making your sandwich. Well let me tel you something lady if your reading this now, f you, you hear me your so lucky i didnt jump over that counter and shove that sandwich down your throat. I wouldnt eat here if i was a starving African kid.

The lady working kept yelling over me at other people walking in and when she started toasting the sandwich she said, "you can go pay while its toasting". So I did. Well, it was done before I had finished paying and as Im trying to count the money for the cashier, she keeps asking me what kind of dang veggies I want(over and over). Shut up and give me a second!
