Cute place. Only enough parking for staff...not kidding, you get towed next door so be warned. Ambiance quite nice. Staff was very nice. Now for the food...the roasted brie plate was delicious. I had shrimp broquett (7 pieces, an odd number for 2 skewers, maybe they ran out), it was overcooked and therefore a bit rubbery... and burnt, the char flavor ruined the meal. If cooked right im sure it would have been lovely, the asparagus was very good. Friend had tuna, requested well done and it looked barely medium, but she said it was ok, but would not order again. Other friend had spaghetti marinara, she said it was good. We thought about getting pizza to go and asked to try the sauce. It was very vey very sweet. Some make their sauce with sugar, they might and may have used too much. We decided to not get any to go. This place is expensive. In my opinion the quality of our food was not comparable to the cost. It was 120 for the food listed above and 2 glasses of wine, the wine was excellent btw. Id go back for a glass of wine and the brie plate prior to going somewhere else for dinner just for the ambiance to unwind. For now, I think Id pass on going back here again for a full meal unless friends really really want to go there. Thats my experience, hope yours is a bit better.

The food was very good, but it was overpriced. We ordered [email protected]$28 and [email protected]$26, which were both served with pasta. We asked to substitute , since we are gluten free, mashed potatoes on one order and green beans on the other instead of pasta. No mention of an additional cost was mentioned. Our 3 scallops and 8 shrimp came with the substituted items and were very good. When we got the check, an additional $2.50 had been added to each entree. As said, the food was very good, but it was very overpriced!
We had the most incredible food at The Groove! Grilled shrimp and mushroom risotto and pesto shrimp pizza. Both were prepared perfectly and the tastes were divine. Our waitress Kate was AWESOME and very well informed about everything having to do with The Groove. The live entertainment was excellent. Dessert was the best creme brulee` anywhere. We enjoyed talking to the owner and learning that everything is fresh and made from scratch. We will return again and again to enjoy such a fine dining experience.
My husband and I ate here while we were down in Rockport for work, and it was wonderful! Nice wine menu, really nice wine menu... great food from steaks, seafood, and handmade pizzas in their pizza oven! Love the vibe and the light live background music (it doesnt over run the place were you cant hear the person next to you, its perfect background music). We would recommend this place over anywhere in the Rockport area. Friendly staff and patio! Must try! We will be back! Thank you!!!
Food was exceptional Waiter was VERY raw, but he was working hard. Certainly cant complain about his effort. With time, he will be a very good Waiter I believe. Live guitarist was a nice touch. Price for what we got was very ridiculous in my opinion. While my salmon was exquisite, the size of the fillet was okay. It only came with a scoop of rice. Thats it. Kids has spaghetti. Cost 17:00 for a regular sized bowl of spaghetti. A bit excessive me thinks.
We dined a late lunch today and were simply wowed by the staffs attention and the flavorful entrees. The outside appearance may not portray a five star venue but, the inside communicates a cozy elegance with a hint of Sicily. The back outside would make any Texan seeking a Biergarten atmosphere right at home. Fresh herb garden, fresh meats and attention to detail, indeeds makes this restaurant one of the top restaurants in Texas to dine in!
Superb food, fresh, well prepared and great presentations! This is probably one of the best restaurant we ate at. Food was well prepared. We ordered Wood Fired Brie, grouper, pizza, house salad, and Steak and cheese sandwich, everything were fresh & superb!!! In fact, my children are usually very picky about fish, because it was so fresh, it wasnt fishy at all, and they ate most of my dish.
Owner begrudge my husband a place to park in the aftermath of Harvey. He was picking up our mail while The Mail Center parking lot was full. The Groove had been one of my favorite place, but no more. We will not be returning, and I encourage other to avoid this mean spirited place. Blocking in a pick up truck of an evacuees picking up mail is unworthy of continued patronage.
We went for lunch on 7/23/2016 with friends who own a second home in Rockport. The wood fired brie is an excellent starter. Salads were excellent. Burgers are excellent. Service excellent. The owner came by to chat to be sure all was going well. Will definitely go back. Not a big wine list but what they have is very good. Dinner menu looks very good.
Horrible service!!! Had to wait 10 min for the stupid waitress to bring us our waters and then proceed to wait another 15 min for her to come back and take our order. There was also a couple sitting next to us who hated their food and when they told them it wasnt good their waitress told them "well thats what it always taste like" and just walked away.
Tried this quaint, cozy place just passing through for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised and excited with the menu. I ordered the scallops. I cleaned my plate, completely ruining my diet but it was totally worth it. Everyone who works there from the kitchen to the front was friendly and inviting and the atmosphere was comforting. I cant wait to return :)
This is one of my favorite "nice" spots to visit in town for dinner. The atmosphere is great, the service is wonderful and the food is delicious. I will say its a pricer spot in town, if youre from larger city youd probably expect the prices to be a little lower for food quantity. However, its consistently good food.
Seems someone built a building to house their dream kitchen but failed to think about the customer. Dont order here for the standard pie and salad because the results are not standard. Bland pizza and over priced salad with no options of dressings was the results of my visit.
We absolutely loved it here! I had the Philly steak sandwich and my husband had the Rockin Rockport burger both were delicious. Our waitress was so friendly and the design of the restaurant is so cute! Wait til you see their Restrooms! Id highly recommend this restaurant.
The Groove is Great! Totally enjoy ourselves every time we go. Great Pizza, Specialty Salads, be sure and try the Watermelon and Arugula Salad...burgers are terrific as well. Rockport was in dire need of the Groove!
Excellent food and quaint atmosphere! A little pricey, but worth it!! We had a large party, so we sat in the garden area out back. It was nice and breezy, and they provided mosquito spray.
Worst definition of fine dining ever. BAD FOOD BAD EVERYTHING. SAMMY WAS A UNDER EDUCATED ON FOOD AND DRINKS. THE OWNERS GIVE CALIFORNIA A BAD NAME. I ALSO HERE THE COMIT TAX FROUD
