I used to come to this restaurant many years ago when my kids were still in the house. The food and service were exemplary...then. My how times have changed this restaurant. My first clue was the lack of customers during the middle of the dinner hour (around 6:30 PM). Maybe four customers including us. The place was always full before... My second clue was the duct tape on the seats. What happened there? I threw my coat over the rip. My third clue was the high prices on the Denny-esque menu; a very hard-boiled chain restaurant flipper with lots of photos and special deals. Nothing about the restaurants history or any Village-like connections. Very off-putting right from the get-go. My fourth clue was the service which was initially friendly by the gal behind the register who showed us to our table...but later became just mediocre when our serving waitress appeared. Just bare bones friendly. Nothing overtly bad, just very minimalistic. I had to ask the waitress directly for more water instead of having her keep an eye on our table and ask us. Not exactly cold service...but just cordial enough to ma-aaaaybe justify a tip later. Still and all, I was hoping the quality of the food would counter all of my misgivings. Sadly, I had hoped in vain. All my instincts saying beware were right on the money. I had brought my friend here for a good meal like Id remembered and I was hoping for the best but what I got was just an overpriced poor mans Dennys. I ordered the Ultimate Skillet and my friend ordered the fish & chips. The only thing that could remotely be considered good was the tomato-basil soup my friend got and the big glass of ice water. Everything else seemed like pre-prepared TV dinner fare. My sourdough bread was greenish in spots and very stale. The bacon was see-through and one of the sausages tasted weird. Everything looked piled onto the too-small plates. You might as well have used a feedbag or a trough for all the nice preparation that went into this meal. If youre a starving man who doesnt care about price, presentation or service and just want to jam whatever down your gullet...guess what? Youd still feel ripped off. Apparently some national corporation got a hold of this restaurant and downgraded the food and raised the prices to make a buck. Its been running on the goodwill of past customers like me, coffee & pie, old folks and probably the pancakes which I saw good reviews on. Sorry Village people. Me NO like. Get the water, the tomato-basil soup and the pancakes...if you can afford it. Skip the rest and get it to go.

My fiancee and I were loyal to Village Inn back home in Arizona - Now that weve settled down up here in WA, we were delighted to find this locale, the only one in all of Washington State, at that. We came in on a slow day, being the only customers in the restaurant, but we could not have been more pleased with our server and quality of the food - so much so, that I think the Arizona Village Inn we ate at was ripping us off! The corned beef hash and eggs was excellent, and in such a generous portion; cooked to perfection. Their raspberry tea isnt pre-mixed like it was back in AZ, here they use a syrup, giving it a much more rich, smooth flavor. Also unlike our old restaurant, here, they season the fries and garnish the dish for their Hot Turkey Sandwiches, and are much more generous with the gravy as well! And our service was so delightful. Cheerful, happy to please, and attentive - she even took my fiancees personal water bottle and filled it to the brim with nice cold water, at no charge. Its the little gestures, and big meals, that made us so happy here, and I think well be return customers for a while now.

I drove by The Village Inn many times until one day I was craving an all american menu (Pot Roast etc.) and decided to give this place a try. Well Ive been back many times since. You will not be disappointed no matter what you order. Ive had the Rubin several times! The Pot Roast, tender and delicious. As good as my own at home. If you order anything with turkey, dinner or sandwich you get REAL carved turkey. Not that pressed, processed stuff. Mashed potatoes, the real thing. Broccoli was cooked perfect. Not to hard or soft. Even the music is great if you like the old oldies. 50s, 60s 70s. I actually heard the song Close to Kathy 1962 by Mike Clifford here. Im getting hungry so Im on my way. Check it out! I really dont think youll be disappointed.

The Village Inn is your typical breakfast chain like Dennys and Sharis. It wont wow you, but itll fill you up. The service was friendly, and they seemed to be working hard. I got the California Skillet which is potatoes topped with hollandaise, eggs, and avocado. The hollandaise was almost like a cheese as it started to gelatinize after a few minutes. I found it interesting that they serve it on a glass skillet rather than a cast iron one like most restaurants do.

Soooo many food varieties! The combo meals are my favorite because i can literally build my own breakfast and substitute anything from the menu into it for a smallish price. The portion sizes are perfect -to a little large! I have never left this place hungry or dissatisfied with the food/service. The prices did go up a bit, which is a bit annoying, and the menu has shrunk a bit, but the taste of the food hasnt changed and thats what matters!

Village Inn is one of my favorite restaurants for breakfast, so when I found out half a year ago that there was one in Federal Way, I had to try it, and I dont regret it. Because its the only Village Inn around here, the service can be a bit slow, but the food is worth it and just as good as at any other VI.

I have been going to Village Inn for over a year now and have been very happy. I used to go to Black Bear Dinner but when I went i had to wait for a table so I found Village Inn. Village inn has just as good good and the wait staff is great and I dont have to wait to be seated. Kids eat free mondays tuesday!

I havent been here in a while. They do have decent pie, and they offer a good variety of breakfast options. Their food has always seemed on par with Dennys, with the exception of the pancakes, which are golden and delicious. Service has always been hit or mis.

Restaurant was clean, food was good service was good and friendly. Prices were reasonable compared with the quality. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food for not a whole lot of money. Dinner for 3 with drinks and dessert came to about $50.

We love this place. We enjoy the food, service is good, prices reasonable, theres never any wait time, music is nostalgic and soft enough so we can easily carry on conversations. And family friendly with a good childrens menu. Grandkids like to eat there.

Great place to eat. Nice and peaceful. Three of us got some good food. Ultimate breakfast, Combo (choose your own food), and bacon and eggs plus 2 coffee (ahhh just right) cost $41.38. At Dennys $60.00 dollars but the food at Dennys yuck.
