Above average Chinese food for L.I. - deplorable ambience and service - deafeningly loud, unless you go off hours - reserved a table for 8 with lazy Susan for Moms 96th birthday lunch 3 days in advance - when we got there at 2pm, they had given our table away to a Chinese party who they said came at 12 (they left at 3:30), and basically called my Mom a liar saying she had never made a reservation! (She had made it directly with the owner) - would have walked out, but was with older family members, some of whom came out from Manhattan - after a good 10 min. of arguing (they were 2/3 empty), they begrudgingly set up a table as we requested - Owner is oppressive- stalked the room giving us dirty looks and shouting at waiters, and never once came to our table to apologize, or comp us on something like any professional restaurant would have done - I thought the Chinese venerated the elderly - not this place -major attitude - they seriously need to get over themselves, and they definitely let you know if you are not a regular - will not be going back.

There is no denying the savory delicate chinese cuisine that Pearl East has come to perfect. With such incredibly delicious food and moderate prices one would imagine that it would be a shoe in for 5 stars. However, the hostess who acts as a living breathing coat hanger is absolutely useless. She doesnt honor reservations, nor does she greet people who enter into the restaurant. There is no doubt in my mind that she should be fired and black listed from the restaurant business as a whole. The restaurant would be better off hiring a 7th grader for $10/hr. Every time I have been to Pearl East this hostess complains about how busy she is and how overwhelming the night has been. Frankly, I could write a 10 page essay detailing the reasons that firing this hostess is the only viable alternative to solving this problem, however, for the sake of this review I will keep it short and sweet. THE HOSTESS IS DEAD WEIGHT, FIRE HER IMMEDIATELY!

Love this place!!! If you are looking for high-end Cantonese style dimsum, this is the place to get it. The arrangement of plates and flavors are like no other dimsum place. All of their large plates come with some type of veggie sculpture, shaped like dragons, phoenix, and other cute animals. The restaurant is pretty fancy too so expect the crowd to be dressy. They also offer a large backspace for group parties. Ive hosted a surprise birthday party here before and the host was extremely helpful with not only the menu, but giving my group enough space to set up for the event.

I went in to place an order for takeout . Took my order and told me to have a seat. A young black couple came in to get takeout. When placing the order they were told they had to pay then not when the food came out. I got up and said I didnt realize I had to pay before getting the food. The guy at the register said youre not like them you dont have to pay till the food comes out. I walked out. No place should treat anyone like these people were treated. I will not spend my money in a place that promotes bigotry

Dined there last night for birthday dinner. The food was superb, the service top notch and we kept exclaiming how delicious everything was. Cathy was so very kind and gracious; suggested a fabulous chicken dish for us to try. Ample leftovers for each of us to take home. The restaurant is a must try. We will be back very soon...best Asian food, hands down.

Hands down the best Chinese food Ive had. All of the ingredients are so fresh and of the highest quality and the sushi is the best Ive had on Long Island. Cathy the owner is always there talking with you like old friends and the place is decorated to perfection. You have to try it.

Some of the best Chinese weve ever had - although the prices are a bit on the high side, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. We head to Pearl East when were looking for great Chinese food in a nice atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation on weekends, though.

Spares were dry and had little meat, duck was extremely fatty. Service was beyond terrible and when we asked the manager, we were told the kitchen is busy. Our fault? Sat for 15 minutes with finished spare rib plates and 45 for the main course.

The food is amazing. Its ethnic, but its not too ethnic. All of the staff are super-attentive, but not in your face. They really have something for everyone, even if you dont normally partake of Asian cuisine. Try it, youll LOVE it!

I had a horrific experience with a take out order. The fried rice was burned plus, the chicken dish also had a strange after taste and we all felt a bit woozy the next day. They seem to have a quality control problem, beware…

Worlds worst delivery service. On average, delivery is 60 min which is unacceptable, but tonight it was 1hr 50 min with an absolutely unapologetic staff. when informed that we would no longer patronize them, they were "sorry."

The wonton soup was amazing... I took Melvin, Irwin and Ira for a dinner not to forget. Ira had diarhea when he arrived and after eating their meal was cured and had normal bowel movements...

Cant get any better Chinese on Long Island. Probably even better than most if not all City Chinese. Presentation, food quality and service all top notch.

CHINESE CUISINE AT ITS BEST WHEN ONE HAS A BANQUET. HOWEVER, JUST 20 MINUTES AWAY, ONE HAS FLUSHING FOR A QUARTER OF THE PRICE.

Bland food that can be gotten anywhere for much cheaper. Horrible service, unless you order a lot.

It was bad service, mean waiters, disgusting bathrooms. Food was OK, but not traditional Chinese.

Great food! Much nicer looking inside than outside. They need to redo the exterior.

Food came out warm. The amount of rice they have us was sad, it was a tiny lump.
