I was very skeptical about eating at a hibachi restaurant where they dont cook the food in front of you - its part of the experience, right? We all walked away pretty impressed with the service, speed of food preparation, and the quality/taste. The kids had the $5 chicken bowl, which was a good deal. My husband had the noodles instead of rice and it was very good. I was in the mood for a big salad with ginger dressing and hibachi shrimp. My favorite though was the vegetarian spring rolls. My husband ordered sushi, which is prepared fresh on sight. I dont normally do any raw fish sushi, but in the spirit of being at the beach, I decided to give it a try. It was very good! Everyone walked out with plenty of leftovers for the next days lunch. As we were getting ready to leave, the restaurant was able to accommodate a party of 16 in a side room. In the main dining area, there was definitely not room for that many, and I got the feeling that the party was happy that the restaurant was able to make it so they could all sit together, even if it was in an area not typically used by diners. All in all, if you want something reasonably priced, fairly quick, and yummy and dont mind missing the hibachi chefs performance, this is a good place to try.

Ive always loved Japanese food before I found out about Jimmyz Hibachi in Surfside I would search for good quality, but decent priced hibachi and would always end up eating Ichiros or Mon Cafe, after getting food poisoning from Mon Cafe I stopped going to those places and then found Jimmyz. Jimmyz hibachi is a wonderful place to sit down and have a meal without having to worry about horrible service and flat sodas coming out of the drink machine. The portions are HUGE and you can practically eat one order for lunch and dinner. The staff are excellent and always greet me with a smile I eat at Jimmyz often and have grown very found of the place. AMAZING hibachi without the ridiculous prices and chef performance of other places in the area. My favorite item(s) of choice are the steak dinner plate with a crazy roll, delicious!

Staff was very friendly. Food was sub par for a hibachi restaurant in my opinion. I had the chicken teriyaki, which should be their signature dish as a hibachi restaurant. The rice HAD to be mixed with white sauce in order to be edible. The chicken was dry and less tasty than teriyaki chicken Ive had elsewhere. The vegetables were actually awesome. Also, the experience could be easily improved. #1, its awkward to walk into a sit down restaurant and not be greeted. Fix the line-of-sight issue. #2, all the tables were wobbling and seating seemed to be an issue. This place could easily get 5-star reviews with a little more attention.

We stopped here after reading all of the great reviews. We both ordered teriyaki chicken. I didnt want vegetables so the server told me that I could do away with them for extra chicken. Sounded good. My plate came out with a huge heap of rice and a small line of chicken. I realize they had just the chicken bowl, which is what I shouldve bought but I figured if I was getting extra chicken this option was good. The chicken wasnt terrible. My boyfriend, who likes vegetables, said his were undercooked and very salty. He likes salt so thats saying something. Needless to say, I dont think well be going back.

Bad, bad, bad. The restaurant was dirty, the staff seemed unhappy, and the food looked terrible. Luckily, we ran into a relative who happened to be eating here, who, based upon his experience, convinced us to go elsewhere; it was his first and only experience at this restaurant as well. Perhaps one of the other Jimmyz locations would provide a higher quality experience, but the Surfside Beach location is a definite no-go. I cant imagine this place will be open much longer, if it remains in the shape we found it.

We originally wanted to get this delivered but we were out of the district but we are only 4 minutes down the road. So we drove down there, there was no one in the restaurant but 1 other couple. Even though it was at prime time for dinner around 6pm. We got sushi and hibachi. The sushi was OK but took forever to get both rolls. The hibachi had no flavor and tasted burnt. This place is over priced for the quality of food you get. We do not recommend this place to anyone.

My favorite place to eat, including our work office! We order Jimmyz a few times a week for the last few years. They even make the lunch plates Gluten free for our 1 special person in the office. The hibachi wraps are delicious too. Always nice employees, great lunches and dinners. You get a big meal for a great price. The driver who delivers our food is great and personable. All around great place and great hibachi food. Quest Custom Homes, LLC loves Jimmyz :)

I called in for delivery but they dont deliver past 9pm, so I took the take out instead. Seems they turn the outside lights off at 9:15pm and close at 9:30 instead of the listed 10:00pm on the website. The popcorn shrimp was old and tasted like it was fried yesterday and then refried tonight in old oil. Not good at all. The staff were nice but the food was very bad. It could be due to so close to closing but that should never be an excuse.

While a bad storm was raging, the wife and I were looking for something different to eat. We drove up and down the road and could not make a decision. The storm got worse and I pulled in to Jimmyz. This place was better than any hibachi that we have back home. The portions were huge and the rice did not have vegetables in it. The service was friendly and fast. The price was also comparable to anywhere else that offers inferior options.

It is one of our go to places every time we visit Myrtle Beach. Their hibachi is nothing short of phenomenal. I can never decide and have the 3 meat combo plate. This time I enjoyed the scallops, salmon & Korean beef. My wife had the chicken and it was delicious as well. The staff was friendly and polite. I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of great Asian food

Delicious! This place is awesome. I recommend getting the noodles with any dish instead of the rice, but really thats just a preference. Friendly staff and awesome food. The smell is awesome! I work next door and I find myself taking a deep breath every time I walk outside. I wish they made a jimmyz smelling candle. Great place to eat. Fast, delicious and filling!

My family and I had an awesome hibachi experience. The food was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The prices are very affordable even for dinner. My kids who are picky eaters even loved their food. Great service and greeted with a friendly smile. If you dont want all the fluff and just want great Japanese cuisine then go to Jimmyz. Highly recommend.

I feel like some people have unbelievably high expectations… To give this place anything but a 4+ star is disappointing to me because this place is amazing. The staff, atmosphere and food are top notch as well as very reasonable prices. Been here many times and have never had any issues with food or service. Will go back again and again.
