I just ate here. Came here on a whim after a night in DC. Im from Seattle where much good Indian is to be had almost anywhere. Out here in Reston I wasnt expecting much, but even then Paradise Indian was a letdown on many levels. I start all reviews at 5 stars, lets see how they earned themselves a 1-star score when I came here with a party of 5 on a Saturday night. -1. The drinks. Myself and another ordered Chai tea. It tasted burnt and old, similar to how Twinnings tea might taste if its boiled or left steeping in a pot for too long. When I questioned my server about it, he said it was traditional spices that we werent used to. Not only was his reply offensive, it was inaccurate. Chai should never taste burnt. -2. The service. While the appearance of the wait staff was impeccible with black and white formal wear, their service did not match. One of our party ordered a side of paneer that never arrived. All but the primary server mumbled. Curry was spilled upon delivery at the table. The primary server was dismissive. They were all very nice, but not friendly or professional. As Ive seen in at similar establishments in Florida I believe some may be illegally here or even possibly trafficked. -3. The food. We ordered paneer stuffed naan. Rather than being dry and fluffy, it was greasy like Pizza. The rice was dry, slightly discolored. The masala did not have minced onions but instead full chunks. The chicken tikka was very dry. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt great. This is a dish I can easily make at home way better than I had here, and if me, a regular untrained guy from Seattle can make it much better, Id rather not pay for the quality I had here. -4. Atmosphere. Multiple TVs playing inappropriate Bollywood music videos. What. The. Hell. Kids are eating in here while they have scantily clad women and men dancing on the TV with strange commercials in-between. The wait staff also just seemed to look around and watch us eat. It was also very strange the very large number of staff they had when the restaurant was not busy by any means. I will not be returning here ever again. I can buy a frozen palak paneer and have better taste and service from my microwave.

Sunday lunch buffet at an Indian restaurant sounded great. I was expecting Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala, great briyani, and delicious appetizing food. There was no curry, or masala, but the Butter Chicken was decent. The chicken was not tender, but the creamy sauce was nice. My guests did not eat much, and one even vomited afterward. We spoke to the manager and asked them not to charge one of my guests as they barely ate anything. At a normal restaurant, they would say no problem, or allow you to try somethings to see how it suits your taste buds. This manager responds, "next time you touch, I charge." I was outraged, and fortunately for him, I was not there to hear it. Not to mention I was not done trying the dessert dishes I had picked out before the waiter rudely removed the food while I was eating it. I am a local Herndon resident all my life, and this is the first time I have experienced bad service at a restaurant off of Elden St. I have traveled around the US and eaten at different Indian restaurants. They have always been good. Herndon is a small but busy town that is known to be friendly. Walking into Paradise Indian Cuisine, was more like Hell in a hand basket with table cloth. Great location, wasted on such a poorly managed establishment. Unprofessional.

This restaurant is horrible. We took our friends for the first time to have some spicy authentic food for lunch and decided to eat buffet. We also had kids at that time. It was embarrassing to take someone out to a resturant with bad customer service, rude servers, cold food specially when you pay in advnace. I WILL NOT EVER GO THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANY ONE for the following reasons: 1. The servers are very rude and obnoxious (Specially the Manager : KHAN) 2. Very Bad Customer Service. Very rude, specially when you to pay in advance, then do not proivde you the quality food and service. 3. They just want you to eat quickly and get out. They dont like any kids centric famalies. They want people to come and leave quickly and have no courtesy for parents with kids. 4. We have been there more than one time and the second time we went there nearing the time of closing in the afternoon. They will ask you to pay in advance, they the will start cleaning the resturant and then they will ask you to leave even if you have not finished, since they already got paid. 5. Overall, Very Bad experience. If you want to have a good experience, DO NOT GO THERE.

My husband and I went for dinner to Paradise for the Dosas. We got there and the restaurant was pretty empty. I would say there were about 3 families and 3 other couples. The first thing you notice when you go inside are the TVs with Indian Channels playing Bollywood songs. The lights are pretty dim too. It takes them about 5 minutes before they notice us standing at the door and decide to seat us. After about another 15 minutes they decide to take our order. They brought out our main course before they brought out our appetizers. The dosas were not so bad. A bit on the oily side. My husband ordered a masala dosa and I ordered a spring veggie dosa. The masala dosa had very little aloo in it. The veggie does was pretty good, but a lot of chilli sauce in it. The veggies added a nice crunch. The sambar was a bit on the cold side. The coconut chutney was a little bland. While we were eating one of the servers kept walking by and would just stand and watch us and then leave. I heard the guy at the bar (I guess he was a manager) yelling at a couple of the servers. Thought that was a bit unprofessional. Other than that, things were OK.

Bad attitude by the person at the counter. I went with colleague of mine for buffet and the person on the counter denied payment by card as it is "house policy" to not take cards for less that $25. 1) There was no such policy written anywhere in the restaurant - he just bluffed 2) When questioned, he just showed us some corner of the restaurant where it is displayed - which is not true. Even if there is a policy, it makes sense to have on the front door visibly so customer can make a decision to enter that restaurant or come back with cash. 3) When we were upset, instead of apologizing, he was rude at us. When we said we are not going to come again, he said that is fine!!! What kind of restaurant is this? What attitude? Wonder how they survive when they treat fellow Indians like this when most of the folks who visit these places are us. OWNERS - Wake up and fix this!! This is not 1990, when there is one indian restaurant in each city, there is on each corner now!! VISITORS - BEWARE!! if basic visible attitude is like this, wonder what goes behind the doors in the KITCHEN!!
