I love this place. Truly LOVE it, and I consider myself a discerning customer (some ex-boyfriends might say a snob). Ive been a Supper Club fan for years, but began eating at Harvest of India when the two restaurants combined. Ive never had a bad meal or a poor experience at either location. The service is always excellent: timely and attentive. I prefer vegetarian dishes when I dine out and those have been my menu choices at this establishment as well, but Ive never been disappointed with a single menu selection and have snobbish friends with broader ranges of taste who also love to dine here. I can only imagine that those reviewers who gave the restaurant only 1 star must genuinely have it confused with another place, because they dont describe this restaurant at all.

This is the first time I am writing a review on a restaurant. I was just motivated to write this because of the horrible food they had. I totally do not recommend this restaurant to anyone that I know. The quality of the food was just horrible - You could smell the skin fat in the chicken curry (how lame is that?), Naan was too salty, even sliced cucumber had water spots on them (meaning they just happen to find this in the back of thier freeze), and the list goes on. The only think that I could eat was green beans. The food just did not taste good. I left the place with a bad feeling and immediately called few of my friends to let them know about the place. I hope someone reads this and avoids that place. DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE with this place......... Peace!

One of the most pathetic service and food combined together. It’s a shame for a name like “Harvest of India”. It should be renamed “Frozen Harvest”. Décor and plates: All dinner plates are of different types/design on the same table. Some plates are chipped. Guess they were bought from a garage sale. Service: There were hardly six people and it took 10-15 minutes to get them a Nan which is complementary with buffet. We were almost done, finally the hostess “Lucy” dumped the Nan and was trying to leave. I got hold of here and complained “I almost finished the food isn’t it too late?” Lucy replied “The chef is too slow”. WOW. Imagine if the place is crowded. Food: EVERYTHINGS FROZEN. I can make better food then this. DO NOT WASTE UR MONEY.

I think this is the first review i am writing about a restaurant. But I have to say that the food was really bad.We just went there once and were shocked to find the food so bad.The service was really good but the food was horrible. We being vegetarians had very limited choices and the tarka dhal that they made was something i could make at home.Nothing special about it.And the paneer dish was red in color dunno how much coloring was dumped into the pot and worst part it was sweeter than sugar. We were highly disappointed with the food and I am really shocked to see all these good reviews about this place.Whoever has eaten proper indian food would not get into that restaurant again ever again in their life.I am sorry to be harsh but it was that bad.

Food is not good... Not suitable for South Indians especially Telugu guys.... Went to the restaurant to use the coupon... Samosas which i ordered are the same samosas(frozen) I eat at home which i bring from Lotte... Server asked me Chicken Tikka Masala (Hot or Medium or Mild) and I asked for Hot.. Its tasteless with no spice... I wonder how Mild will taste ? Took the left over to home but didnt dared to eat it... Thrown in trash... Only thing I liked there is water.. Yes you heard me correct.... Water is good... will never go again to that restaurant, Just for water.. Ended up paying 15 dollars even after having $30 coupon....

I have lived in the Reston/Herndon area for the last 15 years & as a person of Indian origin I do look for authentic Indian food & can say that Harvest of India meets the approval of all my family & friends. I am particularly happy with the fact that the spices in their food are well balanced and suit our palates. The recent upgrade in the decor has given it an excellent ambiance. The staff is always friendly & warm & surprise surprise - the bathrooms are squeaky clean. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good, tasty, wholesome & fresh Indian food.

I have been a patron of the Harvest of India for the last 20 years. This is probably the only Indian Resteraunt I frequent (apart from its sister concern The Supper Club of India(same owner) and not too frequently at that! The food is delicious, freshly cooked and not too spicy(I have a sensitive stomach)I order from the menu and the staff always obliges me with the specifics of the meal and the way I want it prepared. The prices have been pretty stable over the years, and has not broken the bank yet! Please keep up the good food and service.

If you hate someone so bad then the best way to express is to get food from here. 0 Me and my roommates are here for dinner and order Murg Kholapuri and basket of breads. First of all I was surprised that dish was on my table in 5 mins. It is not hot and chicken doesnt taste good. When we asked to cancel this dish and get another one the waiter gets it as fast as first one this time its hot but tastes as bad as the first curry. I would never prefer this place or recommend anyone. One star for the bread basket.

I stopped at this restaurant while on a trip and loved everything about it. The staff were very friendly and kind, the services was great, quiet atmosphere, although it was pretty much empty. Last of all, the food was incredable. I got the Thali and every single dish was extremely flavorful. The price was moderate and I got more than I could eat. I would recommend Harvest of India to anyone, and I would eat there every day if I lived in Herndon.

The food is quite good. However much of the food is a little spicy hot which I personally find too hot for me. Some of my family loves the spicy food. They do offer some highly hot spiced food. I understand that it is very good, but none our guests have tried it. They also have a nice buffet at lunch and at other times during the week. The buffet gives you a chance to taste different Indian foods without having to order a whole dish.

I went to this place after reading all the reviews but my expectations werent high. The service was good but the food was just horrible. I ordered a Chicken makhani which Ive tasted in numerous countries and it has never tasted so bad. It was so sweet and honey tasting neither my husband nor I could stomach it. They offered to replace it but since both dishes we ordered were awful I opted not to. They were extremely pricey as well.

Whenever we feel down, HOI is our restaurant of choice to dine out. Lily, who manages the restaurant, is the star who makes HOI tick. From complimentary lassis to food made to precise specifications, she seems to leave no stone unturned to make us feel special. The food in is good but it definitely not the best Indian restaurant in town. Go, if youd like a pleasing evening with decent food and great service.
