Meijers is usually a real nice place, but this one is full of unfriendly, unhelpful associates. Ive never had a good experience there. They speak to you like youre stupid, they rush you through check out, especially self checkout. The department associates act like youre inconveniencing them when you ask questions, and one time I was told "theyd check in the back" and after 30 min of waiting I realized they werent coming back. Oh, and if you go there early enough you can hear grocery management making 5-10 minute pages over the intercom to his associates...I just thought that was highly unprofessional. Call them on their work phones and relay messages like that. And the "security" at the front doors are some of the most unfriendly people Ive ever seen at a store. Most of the time I walk in theyre on their phones, or taking with other associates about weekend plans and such. I love going to Meijer usually, but because of the horrible experiences at this one, I drive out of my way to go to other ones.

Ive been going here for a couple years. The good side of this place is that their meat and produce selections are better than other nearby grocery stores (Kroger or Walmart). But there are a lot of negatives, and more by the day. There are always a ton of older people shopping here, and they never have enough checkouts open, so shopping takes a long time. This place is always busy. It doesnt matter what time or day I go in, there are always a ton of people in there. They mislabel a lot of things too. Ive gotten screwed over a couple times on sales because they had the tag over the wrong product, and I didnt qualify for whatever promotion they were doing and wasnt willing to go back and fix it then wait in line another 15 minutes to check out again. And lately, theyve been out of a ton of basic things. Every trip Ive taken there in the last couple months theyve been out of something I want. Im very close to finding another store to shop at at this point.

I could quite literally steal anything I ever wanted from your store. The lack of appropriate management is appalling. I come to bank and shop for groceries at this location all the time.. Every single time that I come to this location at the bank. I listen as your metal detectors / anti-theft devices go off. You have a Huntington bank inside of this location, if I were to ever work here, I would be in fear of being robbed on a daily basis.. Consistently I watch as your Asset Protection employees leave their posts, or just are completely absent in general. I am not asking for an "expert" security team here.. But at least someone smart enough to not leave their posts 24/7 and actually have pride in their job to check a bag.. If anyone reads this posting and takes action in a negative light, I seriously do not feel bad one bit. This is complete negligence on the part of your company..

I shop at Meijer a lot. Over the past few months (probably longer, time flies), I have noticed the store going downhill. The produce department is disgusting. It is dirty and always tons of fruit flies. I used to get all my produce from there, but lately I can only get bananas...and they arent great. Ive also bought yogurt that was outdated, once. I now check the dates and have noticed several times that there was outdated yogurt on the shelf. Ive been in the self scan checkout, and noticed that Ive picked up something that was opened. In my experience, the staff is not helpful and sometimes rude. Ive spoke to a manager on a couple of occasions. She was apologetic, nice, and helpful. Unfortunately, the store has seemed to go to heck in the last year, or so. I need to find somewhere else to shop : (

All their mens bathrooms claim to have baby changing stations in them. A nice little sign out front of the bathroom door, but of the three mens bathrooms not one had the changing stations, very disappointed in this sexist discrimination, was shopping here and couldnt even change my newborn diaper. When I asked the customer service they laughed at me and said "didnt know men knew how to change diapers" very disrespectful. Brought up to the cashier and she laughed at me too, I told her it wasnt a laughing matter and she still thought I was joking. We will not be returning here for shopping and I recommend any other family find a different place to!

If you are a person of color, expect to be profiled...every single time you enter the store. No matter if you are shopping, if you are at the checkout (whether it be self or staff) operated. I just relocated to this area of Westland, MI. Ive been to this store four times so far. Each time I was profiled. Ive made several complaints and the issue was ignored. I assume because they are a biased location who do not seem to care or value consumerism from a certain demographic of their customers. Will never Return to Meijer

I like Meijer but I dont appreciate the associate at self checkout being so rude and not helpful and she is like that everytine I go in there...I was getting a pillow that was marked 19.99 but was scanning at 24.99 so I told her the situation she took the pillow and threw it to the side and walked away and was not very nice. She could of offered to do a price check I mean that is her job I also work in retail and now how it works but she is useless and needs an attitude adjustment!

I always enjoy going to the Westland Meijer, the staff is friendly and Ive noticed that they always have enough lanes open, I never have yo wait in line long. I cant give a five star because I noticed every time I go into the bakery section the donut shelfs always have 100s of knats in it. Other than that it is a clean place. They have a great seating section in the book isles, its welcoming and Ive seen people reading there. Over all a great Meijer!!!

I was looking for a pair of shoes for work and was looking for a boot/like shoe that would be slip-resistant and would last longer then the other shoes that where comfortable and nice looking but seem only to last about a year and costed $80. The boots(shoes) I got from their were half off and had steal toe. I think theyll last longer then the previous shoes since they are more like boots and costed $50 instead of regular price of $100.

Always the lowest prices never shop anywhere else I feel pointless giving my business and money to another place when they have the nest deals here and you can go anytime you want I love their 24/7 schedule. And the employees are always helpful especially when you feel like your asking a question thats stupid. They make you feel welcome with their door greeter and the check out is fast and efficient. More stores should be like meijer!

Half of my shopping list was not in stock. Very few lines open. Ended up at a SCO that continuously malfunctioned. They had ONE employee running the entire SCO area. That employee was very frustrated and took her time getting to those needing help. Comment was made that she has been threatened to be fired however, Meijer cant do that when theyre already short on employees. Not exactly what customers should be hearing.
