This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit. This is the second location, the original being much smaller in downtown Richmond. Upon entering you will notice the theme is clearly fireman. There is a fish size fire truck acting as a all around bar. On top is a reserved seating area for special guests or events to my knowledge. They have a wide variety of beers and liquors. They even make their own last I visited so you can get a good beer for a low price. Food wise they have a large range of options. I would say they lean towards a BBQ and hot plates style menu (thus fireman themed). I have always found the portions to be enough as well as prices reasonable. I generally will make the effort to stop here when I pass through or am visiting. The staff is always friendly and they are dressed the part in firehouse style clothing. Upon my next visit I will update as appropriate.

End up getting charged 3 times, when I should have only gotten charged 2 times. Wile I was leaving I was hearing an employee complain about her tips which happened to be the server I had. Well I guess since Halligan allowed this to happen, its the same a stealing in my book and wont fit it even though I have the 2 copis of my tab. This place use to be very good, and great atmosphere and people, but now its more like a dance club and not a bar or grill. I will never be going back, they might have gotten me once but they will never get me again. I implore you to find abother hang out spot.... like keigans right down the way, pour house....exc they are not worthy of doing business with the public.

Food was outstanding that and atmosphere was alright. The service was the worse I have seen in many years. Waitress never recognized the need for refills. Had a party of 7 that consisted of 3 children. The food came out in 3 waves. Two older kids first, 10 minutes later the 4 adults, 10 minutes later the youngest came out. No apologies for the mix ups and the place was not that busy. All and all it took an hour and a half to dine after only waiting 5 minutes for a table. I would not return.

Came here with the family and I order the bbq nachos with brisket which I had to pay $2 extra for and it came out with hardly any meat. I said some thing to the waitress and she went to talk to the kitchen manager and I could hear the entire conversation. He said it would be extra for more meat when my husband has the same nachos and he had three times the amount of meat on his nachos. Never coming back. Thanks rob I for ruining my outing.

Went on a Saturday night and the word that comes to mind is trashy... food is meh, drinks are overpriced, dj was super outdated and played those stupid wobble songs that only obese white girls like. Guys in confederate flag shirts and camo hats, sloppy drunk girls that dont fit in their shirts, sloppy drunk guys trying to start fights etc... it was interesting... a dress code and good dj would probably clean the place up a lot.

Our waitress was attentive and the food was good. The atmosphere and name suggest a bar scene but the fire house motif makes it kid friendly. If youre not a Carolina BBQ fan then you probably wont like the strong vinegar flavor of the pulled pork or the house pickles. My only complaint is that everything from the french fries to the brisket needed salt and pepper.

The food was really good. The service was terrible. It was only two of us. We ordered nachos and a hamburger. There were only two other people dining at this time. We waited at least 15 minutes before the waitress came and got our drink order. It took over 35 minutes to get out food. The waitresses were no where to be found. The nachos were awesome.

Had the Carolina pulled pork sandwich and the chiefs chilli. Cost 9$ and both were good. Drinks seem a bit expensive, paid 7$ for a shot of well vodka and a soda. Service was fine, nothing special. There was a poker group in one area so my experience may not be representative of a regular night.

Halligans is an amazing place, and they earned all 5 of these stars. They have a wide variety of options on the menu, the staff work very hard to ensure you get your food/refills quickly, and theyre very friendly. Plus they even have food challenges.... Cant ask for much more in a restaurant

Havent been to this place in a while. I was thinking about having my birthday gathering here until I heard about you not letting in a paying customer bc he had trump appereal on. With that attitude & customer service you will not be my go to place. This place doesnt even deserve a 1 star.

The staff are friendly. Ive had better BBQ. My reason for going was because I was told they have the best BBQ. The appetizer menu was limited. Also, there was an issue with the beer on tap as it was hot no matter which one you got. I just walked back down the sidewalk to Keagans.

I went here for a company event and I loved it! The food was phenomenal and the service was off the charts amazing! Cant wait to go back! FYI, try the mini corn dog nuggets, they are addictive!

Best brisket I have ever had and the fries were delicious . My husband had the brisket wrap and absolutely loved it. Couldnt careless about their political views. We will be back!

Burger undercooked and service was slow. Decorations are nice, local, and tables were clean. Staff is polite, nice place to drink but eat before you go.
