In an area where there are no shortages of this style, and even more restaurant varieties, Ocha stands out for all right reasons. First, Ocha compares with other tastes of Stamford, consistently. Its a town with several great restaurants and even if Ocha isnt quite as well known it still tastes great whether on a Saturday afternoon or a Wednesday evening, January to December, which I feel is important. Bring a party of twenty or a party of two and Ochas kitchen or sushi bar again remains consistent. Second aspect is pricing, which is in many ways often I determine my appetite. The menu has range in pricing but after having gone through nearly all of it, I would say Ocha has been reasonable throughout. There isnt one item that felt over priced, the quality wasnt compromised at lesser priced dishes, and in most orders I understood the bill (preparation, ingredients, etc.). Definitely recommend checking this place out and dont feel overwhelmed if youre not a raw seafood expert. I asked a question or two and left once with a bag of some of quality green tea. Enjoy.

Ill keep this short because reviews are pretty much about perspective and I only write reviews if I have been to a restaurant more than 2-3 times. I dont eat Sushi but my wife eats it and said though she has had better it was still a stellar selection and very tasty. I have tried maybe 6-8 different dishes from this restaurant and was knocked off my seat when I had the spicy Mango Chicken! Mango was tangy and fresh, chicken was perfectly cooked and the portion was very large! So the food and the service were top notch. So to what I did not like, the place is not upscale and needs to be renovated. Actually scratch that move to a new location!! Secondly your staff the nice need to socialize and chit-chat away from the customers, this one waiter had a 8 minute conversation laughing and joking with his pal about 3ft from our table at a very loud volume! So for food and general service Above Average! But for Ambiance and Location not so good but what can you do, GET THEIR TAKEOUT!! The food is too good!

Customer service is horrible! Ive been a loyal customer with them for about 2 years since I moved to Stamford, CT. Today, I decided to go pick my sushi up. I ordered, picked it up, then walked home, which is about 20 mins away. Since it was raining, my food broke through the brown bag they gave me when I arrived at the parking lot of my complex. I called them to let them know that my food fell on the ground due to the bag they bagged it in. They had the nerve to tell me that it wasnt their fault because they didnt know that I was going to walk. Seriously????!!!!??? Its not my responsibility to inform them of whether Im walking home. They need to make sure that they bag all of their food so that it doesnt rip through the bag under all weather conditions. The lady in the end refused to send me the same order for free. That, in my eyes, is poor customer service that do not treat their loyal customers well.

I just bought Salmon Teriyaki and Salmon Sushi. Fish had skin on it, Hard Dark blue-grayish SKIN. It was tough to chew on it. The vegetables in it had a BAD SMELL and did not taste good at all. The sushi was tasted moist and old, Im a big sushi fan, and this was the worst sushi I have ever had! Basically, I had to throw away $40 worth of food and now I have to order something else... What a waste of time, its so hard to find honest and quality workers these days.

Over the last few years I have eaten a lot of Sushi. My girlfriend eats Gluten-Free, so it can be a challenge sometimes to find a restaurant for the both of us. Fortunately, sushi is a great middle-ground and Ocha is our favorite sushi restaurant. Very reasonable prices and the portions are always very generous. The spicy tuna rolls are out of this world. If you are a sushi fan and havent visited Ocha then you are missing out.

Great sushi and great Thai food. Awesome prices. Sushi for two is a great deal. The fish has a great flavor and is cut very well (not too big not too small). The rice is just right and the right temperature. Highly recommend their white tuna and uni. The Thai soups and Curry are also great! 5 stars for quality/price in the area.

I eat there regularly and the quality is always 100%. The staff there is great and makes a point to remember your name. I usually take out but when I eat there the service is excellent. Their prices are also cheaper than the other Japanese restaurants in the surrounding area. Highly recommended.

i being there twice now and i find it a nice thai place in stamford since Galangal closed but actually most of the dishs i tried is better than Galangal. i live off the high ridge road and i ordered delivery and they were here before after i took the 20 minute shower !!! yummy

My wife and I used to go here at least twice a month before we had kids (now we cant even sit down!) Service is excellent, the host and waiters are very friendly. The sushi is good, the sake is good. Relaxing atmosphere. Delivery is also excellent!

This is the restaurant where everybody knows your name because the food is delicious, the price is right and the family is great! So of course you return. Good for both eat in (clean fish tank, window seats and TV available) and take out.

Worse Thai food ever! I ordered pineapple fried rice & I never had bad experience with Thai food before. So Im giving them only one star. And they dont even deserve one star. The worst food ever I tasted. Presentation is the worst.

Tried the fried calamari and it was just okay. Kind of bland on its own but the sauces were yummy. Also tried the egg rolls and they were delicious! The Bangkok duck is not all that its made out to be, it was a little bland.

Was really disappointed. The service was pathetic - it seemed as if the staff had trouble even putting a smile in their face and just wanted us to eat and leave quickly. Never going back.

Great and cheap take out. I lived across the street and this was my go too. The owner is nice and food was always good. Loved the fact they put a piece of mango in their summer rolls.

Excellent Thai. 5 stars for the Tom kha soup and curries. Will have to taste the Japanese to see how it is. Suchi chef has excellent knife skills but didnt get a chance to try it out
