This place is amazing. Ive been going here for years and the owners are always excited to see me. They are always very nice and friendly and give freebies sometimes. The sushi chef has been making authentic Japanese sushi for 20 years and the quality is definitely the best Ive had in the NOVA area. I would even compare it to authentic Japanese sushi from Japan. I come to this place everything I visit Fredericksburg because its so delicious. I recommend the beef box and gyoza. The spicy salmon rolls are always great. They have so many different kinds of sushi. I would absolutely recommend coming here if you like sushi or want to try it for the first time.

Bad sushi. Nice, friendly environment and awesome location but sushi is not excellent or even okay if you like good sushi. Seems that the other reviews are opposite so maybe it was a one off for us, but the sashimi was old and the volcano roll was baked with spicy mayo as is typical, but the mayo was broken and cottage cheese. The waitress was very nice but unfortunately the sushi chef argued about our opinion of the sashimi which seemed like bad customer service overall. We probably wont be back sadly, because we LOVE sushi. We just moved here about a year ago and are accustomed to great sushi, so far Umi has been our favorite.

An incredible place, tucked into what looks like an office building (dont blink, youll miss the sign in the window) owned and run by the friendliest couple ever. We went in once and the lady knew us the next time. We also left with our to go boxes with explicit instructions on which to eat first and how quickly. The sushi is excellent, but tip: order the chef specials. Everything is great, but the Usuzukuri is to die for. Or just ask for the sushi chef to make you something: I guarantee it will be lovely.

Fantastic place. The owners and staff are incredibly warm and friendly people. The restaurant is in a great location right in downtown Fredericksburg. Inside the atmosphere is very soothing and welcoming. Food is phenomenal, their lunch specials are an amazing deal and the dragon roll always amazes me. Easily my favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg 5/5 must eat here if visiting or passing through

Service was an A+. But food was a C-. Ive only been there once, so thats all I can comment on, but the sushi was "just OK". My wife was very psyched to go there, and enjoys sushi quite a bit, and was hungry to boot. And even she was not impressed with our food that night, and I agreed. Based on other reviews, maybe the sushi quality that night was a bit off, and its not the usual quality.

Took my mother for her first sushi experience. The staff went out of their way to explain everything, but the truly unforgettable moment was the impromptu display the chef put on for us after learning it was my mothers first time. Haru turned our dinner into a memory we will forever cherish. Did I mention the sushi was top notch too?

The owners, Sooki and Chef, are fantastic! They make you feel like family. Weve been regular customers for over 3 years at their last location on Route 17. We have never had a bad experience and the sushi is always very good! The new Haru Restuarant, is very nice inside and perfectly located in downtown Fredericksburg.

this is the best place Ive ever ate sushi from started going when they where located off rt 17 and this was the first time Ive ate sushi tried a few others but still nothing compares glad to see that they have moved into there own location they have a faithful customer for life

Remarkably delicious and fresh sushi. Well definitely be back. The staff is incredibly friendly, one of the owners coming by frequently to check and make sure my daughter and I were enjoying ourselves. The menu itself is vast, anything you want they pretty much have.

Love this place. Lunch specials are well priced and delicious. They are right next to the Worst deli so mixing both menus can be fun. Staff always greets me when I come in and actually remember my face and family. Highly recommend this place if you like sushi.

I have been coming to Haru since they where located on rt 17. All I can say is Ive been coming here for over a year, Ive never had bad food and the service is ALWAYS amazing!! If you havent been to Haru you need to try it!!!

This is honestly the best sushi in Fredericksburg. I have eaten sushi all around the United States and I havent had better sushi anywhere. Its a small hole in the wall. They are always very welcoming.

This place is the real deal. The sushi chef is legit. Everything is fresh and delicious. This is in the same space as Worst Deli but the sushi side is open evenings and weekends, and they deliver.
