Eastern Connecticut friends: do yourself a favor and give Thread City Diner in Willimantic a miss. Had never been until this morning when I ordered the Spicy Chicken Omelette. Overcooked eggs, raw peppers & onions - its a diner - par for the course I suppose. But the mystery meat of the processed, pre-frozen, uniformly-shaped kind, was something I wasnt expecting and couldnt bring myself to eat. When I told my server she asked if I wanted to pick it out myself. I told her I didnt realize the chicken would be a processed meat product and would like another omelette. She came back to tell me that the cook/owner refused to replace it and did I want to wrap it to take it home since I would be paying for it. Serves me right for not going to Cafémantic for their Huevos Rancheros!

I have been eating here for the last four and half years and never experienced such distasteful food today I just order the Big Willy like I always do now this is the second time my food came to my tray burnt toast bacon hard and burnt eggs are green homefries are burnt as well now this happen the first time I said maybe the cook is having a bad day decided to eat here again and the same thing but this time was worst I can believe it wont be eating there again and I will be talking w the owner. Even though me not eating there wont stop business but I eat there all the time.

Great coffee, OMG the serving size is triple any other diner Ive ever been to! My only gripe is I ordered 3(huge) pancakes, I wanted to mix and match 1 plain , 1 chocolate, one peanut butter, and they charged me individually and it came our to $13.00, instead of $8.00 for 3 pancakes all one flavor. No big deal its now my lunch, my wife ordered eggs and bacon, and I think there was a pound of bacon on the plate, not exaggerating! I would come back again but I live an hour and a half away, but if Im in town Ill be stopping in for eats!

Steak & eggs - winner Homefries/potatoes - well seasoned Coffee - delicious Service - Excellent, fast, courteous, friendly Hash - out of a can, no thanks Sausage gravy - out of a can, no thanks Pancakes - Huge, but sometimes under cooked - delicious, but dont be afraid to send back if under done Spicy chicken with eggs - surprisingly delicious Gets very busy on weekends, especially after 9am

Large portion sizes, good breakfast options, bacon had issues... Had a funny taste. Mine was ordered xtra crispy and was soft, sons was crisper but both had that odd taste. He is a everything bacon lover and was not happy with this bacon. Waitress was good. Atmosphere was nice. Large tables great for groups.

Great breakfast! The staff are eager to please, and have great personalities. Monday is busy,dont be in a rush. Yummy bacon, good quality. Laura was definitely hating. Have you seen the omelettes? Huge! We watch to see who can finish it! Oh and make sure you park legally so you dont get a ticket lol

The place to go for breakfast. No diet food here. Super huge omelets! Big thick slices of toast. Incredible sides. Awesome eats. Can hear the cook barkin out orders. Only place that I have been where you need a doggy bag for a breakfast meal. I actually saw Elvis there too. Superb.

A local favorite week known for Andy banging on the grill when hes cooking and huge portions. Great bang for the buck. Share a plate or take leftovers home. One of the Pride of Willimantic restaurants. As long as this place is open, Ill be back over and over again.

Breakfast done right. From the time you get seated to the time you get your check its fantastic. Very attentive thruout. The Menu has the usual and some more adventuous items. HUGH omelets. Great value. It can be busy at times. Theres a reason ......its great.

the pancakes are to die for — soft, fluffy, and as big as dinner plate. biscuits and gravy was good. its a typical breakfast diner with a great and affordable menu. staff is great and attentive aside from the guys barking orders in the kitchen .

Looooooooooove their food, you will leave with to go bags. Coffee hits the spot, the waitresses are great. My only complaint is the place can get loud (high ceilings) And the cook can be a real jerk to his girls at times.
