Food was good, not the best Ive had but Im from NC and we have a lot more options. BUT. The service from start to finish was the WORST Ive EVER experienced in my life at any given restaurant. We had a 7:30 reservation for 2. We checked in, they didnt give us a buzzer, 2 couples walk in behind us with the same reservation and were seated in front of us, I brought it to the hostesses attention, she did not apologize, but we were sat immediately. Our server was awful. I dont know what kind of day he was having, couldve been there all day, may have had a cold, but he was still getting paid so I still expect quality service. (I work in food and I tip well) he did not say youre welcome once to anytime anyone said thank you, actually the cook didnt either, and while he was taking my wifes order he sneezed INTO his hand and walked away. He was gone long enough to wash his hands so I hope thats what he did. When he returned he didnt apologize or verify her order but went on to the next person although she wasnt finished. After we were finishing up our meals I notice that even though I ordered the chicken and steak dinner I only received the steak. I wasnt upset but I didnt wanna be charged for both, my wife politely pointed it out to our server and he said he would "try" to get it fixed. He then disappears for easily 20 minutes. My pregnant wife goes to find him at the front with all of the bills printed and laying out open trying to decide which bill needs to be fixed. I point to our bill and it gets fixed in a matter of seconds, I have no idea what he had been doing the last 20 minutes. My wife looks at the check to find that they added an 18% gratuity to the bill and questions why its there, when what she assumes is he manager jumps in to say "we add an 18% gratuity to parties of 6 or more" which my pregnant, now very annoyed wife responds with "we werent a party of 6 or more so I dont understand why its on there." The server says he can have it taken off and again is fixed within a matter of seconds. He walks away with the rest of the bills for our table, she says she stopped and talked to one of the other employees for a good 5 minutes before returning to the table. When she came back she realized that we were the only people with our bills and our server returns shortly with the rest.

Wow. So where should I start? I went there for a big formal dinner with a couple friends.. We get there and our party of 8 just stood around for a good 10 mins.. DID THEY HAVE A WAITING AREA? Nope. MIND IT, WE HAD RESERVATIONS. So were all just standing there with our formalwear looking like goofballs and being stared at by the employees (no smiles or anything, just awkwardness) while they frantically looked for a place to put us... Oh HOLD ON, I thought we had reservations? After being seated, we waited for about 25 mins until a lady actually took our drink orders. Now I know 25 mins isnt a lot but when youre hungry and already frusterated with their attitude its actually an eternity. So I got up and walked out to speak to the manager (which was some asian lady with short hair) who DEFINITELY had NO business etiquettes WHATSOEVER. Wait? Dont you have two locations now? By now Im assuming you know damn well how to treat your customers, guess not. I spoke to her and her first response was a dirty "ok ok yea yea ok yea, go sit back down" All I wanted to know was why it was taking another 30 mins to get our hibachi chef over to cook our food.. (btw the hibachi chef looked dead tired and least-interested in everything that he was doing, no tricks, no fun, no anything, in a super rush too) Afterwards, We finally got our miso soup and salad which this stuck up manager brought out and she came up to me and starting whispering "THIS IS NOT FAST FOOD" in my ear. OMG I wanted to take that miso soup and dunk her face in it. I told her I wasnt here to take her attitude and definitely wasnt dressed for fast food and also told her that maybe SHE SHOULD keep her attitude to herself.. Maybe she got so many complaints that she herself was getting moody. As I finished my dinner I saw a prom group who waited over 35 mins and finally left because no one was taking care of them. Wow. Shows a lot. As a daughter of an entrepreneur who owns two beautiful salons in richmond I personally know customer service and the #1 rule; THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.. A message for that lady who ruined my night, "Honey, fastfood service is good and great tasting compared to your place, McDonalds actually has wayyyyy better service than what youll ever have."

Me, my girlfriend and her mother went out to celebrate my girlfriends Birthday at this place. When we got into the parking lot, my girlfriend asked "are they closed? Where are all the people?" We walked in and the person attending us had no greeting and did not speak or tell us where we can sit to wait. So we took it upon ourselves to do so. We waited for about 20 mins for a seat which was fine. Patience is virtue. Then we were finally seated. We waited another 30 mins for our chef to come out after ordering our food. The waitress explained to us that we can get a combination on the menu or create our own combination of two meats or three meats. I chose this combination: salmon, shrimp and chicken because I dont eat red meat or pork, my girlfriend got the chicken and shrimp combination, and my girlfriends mom got the combination: steak, shrimp and chicken plus drinks. Then we ordered a Happy Birthday which they charged 9.50$, anything for my baby so why not. We got our ticket that rang up to a WHOPPING 174$. the waitress charged us for 2 shrimp 15$, chicken 5$, 3 fried rice extra charge 2.97 etc they took it upon themselves to add the tip to our receipt of 24$ and some change. First she mislead us and then they are way over priced. A steak and chicken dinner shouldnt cost 28 then charge to put fried rice. They basically over charged us for a meal that should have simply been 18$ with everything included , maybe a little more for seafood. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE UNLESS YOURE PLANNING ON SPENDING MONEY ON OVER PRICED FOOD. NO WONDER THE PARKING LOT WAS NEARY EMPTY.

Went there for lunch, and was generally disappointed. One ordered hibachi, one ordered sushi. The hibachi used bagged frozen vegetable medley in the fried rice - carrot and peas make sense, but corn, lima beans, and green beans dont seem to belong in hibachi rice. It seemed less than authentic based on experiences at other Japanese restaurants. Overall, the rice was bland. We were working with a food allergy, and even though the chef made sure to mention it before cooking, he forgot and used the allergen anyway. The management apologized profusely when they found out. The sushi was a mixed bag. I ended up waiting longer than I expected to wait for lunch, and the Hibachi was done by the time it came out. The spider roll was amazing, and beautifully plated. The sushi meal itself was less impressive; some of the fish seemed like it wasnt the highest quality, and one piece was downright unpleasant - it had a hard, rubbery texture and was completely flavorless (it wasnt squid, nor octopus; I couldnt identify it though). Overall, it seemed like the ingredients used were of a lower quality than one would expect from a restaurant that charged that much, and the service seemed lacking. The one thing they had, though, was good atmosphere and good technique. I would not go again, not for the price they charged.
