We went there tonight Dec 28, 2015 as a tradition for my daughters birthday. The only bad experience we ever usually have is a non entertaining chef. Tonights experience and how they decide to handle it when I call tomorrow to complain will be the deciding factor if I ever return. There are other restarunts like this in this town. When we got seated and were looking the menu they tell us that their soda machine broke. Instead of sending an employee to go get the soda they didnt have or giving a discount they stared at us crazy when we didnt like our choices of lemonade unsweetened tea gingerale or water. We ended up choosing ginger ale but it was kinda gross with fried rice. We never received any refills either ( your allowed 3 they offered none) usually they are refilling your glass as soon as its a quarter of the way gone. Our chef was good this time but by good I mean he had a personality and was funny, he only did 4 basic tricks. Our soup and salad came out at the same time and two seconds later so did our chef. I think this was because I brought in a cake so they knew we were going to be there for awhile. This brings me to their "celebration" which consists of them banging the drum and gong and saying happy birthday bringing a slice of once frozen plain cheese cake with a candle and taking a picture then printing it out. They never tell you this cost money until you see your bill. It used to be 5.00 until this year now be aware!!! The celebration is 7.00!!!! 7.00 is way to much money to charge for that!!! Had I known they raised the price I would have said no thanks. So buyer beware ask about prices on everything they are very sneaky there. This is why tonight since they didnt care about me being upset about the celebration price increase and the not having soda I did not tip properly. I only tipped the chef and I told him do not split that it was only for him!!!

Good food, dirty restaurant. On the positive side, the food was pretty good and the hibachi chef was excellent. As I walked into the place however, a cockroach ran over my foot. We probably should have left but decided to give the place a chance anyway. Our waitress was ok at first but then we never saw her again until we got the check. She didnt offer carry out boxes til we asked, then she handed them to us and we never saw her again. I was sorry I even left her a tip, especially since we had already tipped the chef. The place was very dirty. After being greeted by a cockroach I found myself constantly looking around, checking everything, etc. The silverware was old and had rough edges, the counters felt dirty, the salt and pepper shakers were gross. The whole place needed a major cleaning. And in spite of how the place looks, they still charge top prices as a really nice Japanese restaurant would. Also, our fried rice was extra which I thought was ridiculous. $22 for a very small piece of steak and less than a full breast of chicken, the rice should be included. Sorry, I tried to be fair about this place, but I wouldnt go there again.

I ordered the following dinner item: KOREAN SPICY RAMEN - PLAIN, CHICKEN, PORK, OR BEEF Korean ramen noodle and soup w/ egg and vegetables$9.00 (Lunch) | $13.00 (Dinner) The server did not ask my choice of PLAIN, CHICKEN, PORK, OR BEEF and I forgot to specify, but that is not the real problem. What was served was actually fast noodles (a.k.a. instant noodles) that you can cook in literally 5 minutes at home! I never ever experience or expect such a thing at a restaurant. I asked the waiter about this and he did nothing but confirming to me: it is instant noodles! Its like that is whats supposed to be. My family ordered several other things. Although not as ridiculous as this, they are at best about average level of a street-side Asian eatery. I will never go back.

I love this restaurant! I havent had the sushi - only the hibachi and the food is excellent. I will say that it is a bit pricy. If youre going for dinner and you want hibachi, expect to pay $20+ per plate. I have been here a few times, once on my birthday. As another reviewer mentioned, if you say its your birthday they will bring you cheesecake but they charge you for it without saying so first! Overall, it is excellent food if youre looking for a nice place to eat, but it is expensive which is why I am giving it a 4/5 rating.

Four stars for prices. Five stars for quality. The sushi is far and away the best in Frederick and Ive had Hinode, Chef Lins, Matsutake, Rapponghi, Edo, Tjs. Matsutake is a great value for lunch, and Chef Lins adds amazingly fresh chinese buffet but the sushi is mostly cream cheese... so try the Golden Mile at Miyako... it is amazing.

Love the sushi. LOVE IT. Moto the chef is always polite, even recognized my sister and I as siblings when we went in the first time (rare for us). Preparation is quick, visible from the sushi bar, and fantastic every time! Favorite place to go, hands down, out of every establishment in Frederick for food!

We tried miyako yesterday for the first time and we were impressed! We have been to several japanese steakhouses and I think this is our new favorite. The service was fast and courteous, the chef was amazing and fun and the food was mouth watering! If you havent tried it I recommend you give them a shot!

Always great, have been there several times; Id only go to a place like this with 6+ people as we did. The hibachi chef does all the standard tricks with the egg, fire, and throwing of the food pieces. Steak was cooked perfectly, which isnt always the case on the flat iron hibachi, along with scallops!

I love the food, they cook it right in front of you, chefs are fun & entertaining! Meet new people as they seat you with others to fill a booth. One time, our meal was payed for by the people we had just met! Awesome experience and great atmosphere!

Often go to the FSK location for Sushi, this time we went the prices had a significant increase and they no longer give out the crab salad at the sushi bar, sushi was not as good as before. Were now looking for a new favorite Sushi place.

I seriously hated it. I lived in Japanese for several years so It is really hard to find good japanese food in the US. Out of all the hibachi restaurant Ive had in the USA alone, this one was the worst. Find a different restaurant!!!

Best sushi in Frederick. Fresh fish, well made, friendly staff. The hibachi grill is also quite good. The scallops are to die for and the filet Mignon is better than Benihana. 10% off coupons available for most nights.
