I went to this deli today with a co-worker. I was charged an extra $1.02 over menu price for my sandwich. My co-worker was charged the menu price. She is white, I am black, I do not think this is a coincidence. I brought this to the attention of the cashier, at first he denied over charging me. Eventually, he apologized and gave me a $1. Also when I ordered the sandwich I was told to pay immediately even before they made the sandwich. I was the only black customer in the deli. I noticed that the other customers (including my co-worker) didnt have to pay until their sandwich was made and given to them.

This is a wonderful deli that serves freshly made sandwiches. The Sloppy Joe (no not the one with ground beef) is teh specialty of the shop. Three pieces of rye bread with multiple meat and cheese choices along with Cole Slaw and Russian dressing, a classic. I prefer the Roast Beef, Turkey and Swiss. Pro Tip, call ahead and place an order as during peak lunchtime hours you can have a ten to 15 minute wait. All kinds of cold and hot sandwiches and subs are available.

A classic. Ive been going to get subs here for 25 years, since I was in high school. The shop hasnt really changed much in all these years. Excellent subs and decent portions. There is usually a line but they keep it moving. I stopped in a few weeks ago for the first time in years (I no longer live in the area) and was rewarded with the same great sub I remembered.

Mainstay for the locals. Absurdly-sized heroes, free pickles, and a menu too big to fully digest while you wait in line. Nothing too adventurous offered but they have everything a deli should. This is the sandwich shop you want when you want a big-ass sandwich with friendly service. Packed with youth.

I hadnt had a sandwich from here in more than 20 years. I happened to be back in the area recently, stopped in, and was so happy to see that the employees are still very nice and the sandwiches are still outstanding. The quality of the bread, meat, and toppings is fantastic.
