Heard about this place from a coworker after having a bad experience at another Richmond area sushi place as well as one in Fredericksburg, was skeptical...but it is AMAZING! The sushi is so fresh, its the best Ive had-I am never disappointed here. The prices are nearly half of what the other places are. The service is also great-Amy the owner serves us every time, made a point to know us by name, and is a gracious hostess. I love everything about this place. Favs are the lunch box-teryaki chicken (SO MUCH FOOD- $7.95) and the shrimp tempura roll.

Extremely friendly customer service in a clean, relaxing environment. Sushi rolls were some of the best weve had in Richmond and surrounding area. We tried the lunch special Angry Dragon Roll which was very fresh and delicious. The lunch bento box was so filling we took home leftovers or shrimp teriyaki and dumplings. Our meal came quickly & the waitress was attentive. This restaurant really exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be returning here again!

Ill summarize... Its really good food every time, and the price is great. Heres what makes this restaurant worth it... Ive eaten at Tokyo Sushi five times in the last three years, and the hostess (a very sweet older lady) still recognizes me and treats me like a regular, even to the point of asking why I dont come in more often. Honestly, with the food as good as it is and the staff that nice, I really should make it a point to eat there more often...

Tokyo Sushi is by far the best place in Richmond to get sushi. My husband and I have tried over 10 places around the Richmond area looking for the best sushi we could find, we kept finding places with bland, dry, and expensive sushi rolls. Tokyo Sushi has moist rice, flavorful ingredients, and fresh vegetables in each and every roll. If you are searching Google looking for somewhere to go for sushi tonight - stop looking. Go to Tokyo Sushi!

The service is great. The hostess is so sweet. The food is amazing. They will do any roll with soy paper instead of seaweed. We drive past many sushi places to get to this one; it is worth the drive. We make it a point to stop here if we are going to short pump mall. My wifes favorite roll is their veggie roll in soy paper; my favorite is the spicy snow crab roll; my son gets thier teriyaki chicken and my daughter loves their dragon roll

Great little sushi joint in the Crossings shopping center. Reminds me very much of Umi in Short Pump which I thought was also very good. Highly recommend the spicy tuna roll and a beef appetizer that includes beef wrapped around fresh scallions. Unrelated for those seeing this via Google Places Directory you can leave a review buy searching for the restaurant within Google Maps on you computer. One of the links is to leave a review.

This place was amazing! We went the first week it was opened and thought it was excellent. We ordered tempura, steak hibachi, and 2 sushi rolls. Service was fast and the rolls were plentiful. We were given a free appetizer Volcano Roll and it was amazing, too! Prices were great & we are very big fans of Akida - this just happens to be more convenient. Highly recommend and cant wait to go back again!

We have recently been comparing sushi restaurants in the Richmond area and thought we had it all figured out. Last night, we visited Tokyo Sushi and had to revise our favorites list. This place is really, really good! Extremely friendly staff, great service to start. The sushi was great and featured the most tender and tasty rice we have had anywhere in Richmond. We highly recommend this restaurant!

honestly i love the sushi here. like its good. but the employee was RUDE! she refused to seat us because they were closing at 3. my family and i went in this establishment at 2:40, not 3. she said that unless we could finish soon that she wouldnt seat us. i find that very rediculous considering it was 20 minutes to three and she refused to seat us. she had a terrible attitude and i want her fired

This place just opened around the corner from my house so I decided to give it a try. I have tried sushi from almost every sushi restaurant in Richmond and this is the best I have ever had. The prices are great, the portions and the sushi rolls are very generous, the food is extremely fresh and the staff is accommodating and warm. I cant wait to go back. If you love sushi, you have to go.

In the heart in Glen Allen is new little Japanese Paradise. Small a comfortable this venue offers some of the best and freshest sushi. The Hibachi grilling is delicious and a lot less in price than the fancy flaming grills of the other Japanese Steak houses in the Richmond Area. You will feel at home when dining with this family run very good restaurant. Hope to see you there.

Not a bad experience, just not that great. Soy sauce is not Kikoman and has a weird flavor. Waitress leaned over my wifes plate to put mine in front of me. Fish was fresh, but the rolls were a little on the small side. I eat a lot of sushi, so my expectations may have been too high. Staff was nice and service was quick.

The cutest little sushi shop on this side of town with 3 sweet old ladies that wait on you very attentively. The double crunch roll was fantastic and the volcano roll was actually super spicy! Also, the fried red bean ice cream pretty much is ice cream encased in tunnel funnel cake batter. Well definitely be back.

I have recently been to Tokyo Sushi at least 3 times and all 3 times were AMAZING. Took my boyfriend there tonight (he is a cook) and he fell in love with it. Might be a weekly stop for us. Great service, Awesome food, decent Sake and we left with leftovers and MONEY STILL IN OUR WALLETS....

Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. We got a three-roll lunch combo and a chicken teriyaki lunch box. Both surpassed my expectations! Fresh ingredients and great taste! Im already making plans to return. They even made my seafood hating fiancé into a sushi lover!

The service and the atmosphere were great. The miso soup was perfect. The sushi was good but not great. The food to price ratio was appropriate but overall sushi, though good, just wasnt good enough for me to recommend.

I went in for the first time a few weeks ago because I was visiting the area. I live about an hour and a half away and Ive tried places closer to home, nothing compared to these.... I will return. :)

Solidly good sushi. We did not try any of the special rolls, just ones that were fish and rice, and they were delicious and fresh. Ive eaten a lot of sushi and this is pretty darn good sushi.

This is now my favorite sushi place in Richmond, and Ive been a lot of places. The food is fantastic and you get it FAST. The place is very clean and well kept, and not too expensive. So good!
