I was so excited to try this place, loving both donuts and ramen, and was SO disappointed. I tried the veggie version as I do not eat pork and the ramen arrived tepid instead of steaming hot, the noodles were undercooked and stuck together in a giant clump. The toppings were meh, and the braised tofu was not really the traditional type for japanese ramen. We ordered the half lunch portion that came with a donut, and the donut was also very disappointing. They were supposed to be freshly made and it was greasy, heavy, squishy and pasty and the miso/honey combination was awful. I thought it was overpriced for what we received and $4.50 for 2 cups of tea that consisted of a tea bag and a paper cup is ridiculous. For that price we should have received a tea pot and 2 cups to go with the porcelain bowls and spoons. I had the impression this is one of those restaurants that is trying to be casual and high end at the same time, and it just isnt working. Our waiter also brought the incorrect total the first time, and apologized that we didnt like the donuts. Since we didnt like the donuts and he forgot to charge us the first time for the tea, better customer service would have been to not charge us for the tea, instead of ringing up another check knowing we were displeased. I used to live in Japan and eat at a lot of ramen shops and this was just really a bummer. Will not be going back.

The service was frustratingly bad. There were numerous open seats and I was told it would be a wait, and then they couldnt keep my water filled, and messed up my drink order. They had multiple servers confusedly running around. They were nice and it was a little bit busy, but my only expectation was to have water and the ability to place my order, both of those things seemed difficult for them to pull off. The ramen was relatively flavorless and when compared to the price, it isnt worth it. I was bummed, because I was super excited to see we finally had a ramen place. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the donuts are quite good.

This place fills the izayaka shaped hole in my heart. An innovative restaurant, to say the least. Korean and Japanese cuisine comes together in perfect harmony for what just may be my favorite dining experience in Charlottesville. All the stocks are made in house from scratch, as well as their BANGIN kimchi, which is an excellent addition to any of the ramen or rice bowls. Their doughnuts dont disappoint either- whether its topped with miso buttercream, or cucumber yogurt glaze, you wont be disappointed. *Pro tip: be sure to try their Sunday brunches. Omurice+kimchi Bloody Mary= best brunch in Charlottesville.

My teenage daughter and I visited this place because we wanted Raman on a cold day. The server said the special was a bowl of Ramen and a doughnut, we both looked at each other with a WTF look. Doughnut? But we ordered anyway, we finished our Ramen the server came back and asked "what kind of doughnut would you like?" And listed them. We both chose the most popular with the thought of we are not going to eat, just take a bite. We each had a doughnut placed in front of us. The small bite turned in to us devouring the doughnuts. We have gone back several times and have never left disappointed. Great place!

Absolutely phenomenal! Ive loved just about every donut they make, but the brown butter and crème brulé are are probably the best donuts that Ive ever had in my life. Then theres the noodles and rice. Im partial to mushrooms, so their Fushroom with pulled chicken is my favorite, but the chicken rice bowl is fantastic too. All of the staff have been very kind and quick on service. We frequently meet the owner as weve become addicted to this unique gem. If we ever leave Charlottesville, I think Miso Sweet will be what we miss most of all.

Been there several times to date and tried at least half their menu to date. The ramen is great, with a variety of fresh ingredients and delicious broth. The donuts, in my opinion, are actually better than the famous Spudnuts shop (which is not something said lightly around here). The pricing can feel high, although they do have a reasonable lunch deal (smaller ver of any bowl + donut for $9). The only major downside is the wait... I wouldnt stop by unless I had at least 45min to spare, even when theyre not busy.

We just got AMAZING ramen as take-out from this place! It was truly excellent. We had two Classic and one Curly Chicken, for our more trepidatious eater and she ate it all. Even the toddler had pulled pork in ramen when were prepared to make something at home separate for him. We also enjoyed a kimchi and pork donut as an appetizer on the car ride home. Price definitely matched the quality in my book. My daughter also commented that its pretty cool-looking inside

Our dinner at Miso Sweet was all that we had hoped. I had the Curly Noodle Soup. The chicken broth was very tasty, the noodles piping hot and delicious, pulled chicken pieces prime parts, and lots of other included bits all a delight. My husband had a special of tofu rice bowl and really liked it. We also liked the donuts. With their miso glaze, they were a new experience, but a nice combo of sweet and savory. We will definitely go again.

Finally check out Miso Sweet and enjoyed it a lot. It stands out on the downtown mall with a unique menu and style. The only thing that will reduce my visit frequency is the bowl prices. The add-ons come across as emphasized/recommended but they add a couple dollars on top of a bowl price that starts off higher than the average. Having the lunch special price structure available at other times could turn Miso from "good" to "the best"

Been going there since it opened and came to the conclusion that if you walk away hungry, its your fault as the portions are generous and the prices are great. the doughnuts are a new experience, dont expect your standard glaze, their miso glaze adds a new depth that i didnt think was possible with what in most places is a simple sweet pastry. I look forward to every time I get to go.

Absolutely great place. Chef really knows what hes doing on the line. The ramen that I had was bursting with flavor, and you could tell that EVERYTHING was made in house. And the Enhancement with the fried pig ear was the perfect touch. Loved the savory brown butter donut. Grear flavors, great environment and great attitude all around. Happy for Miso Sweet, Thanks for keeping it Real!

Stopped by to check it out, on the way to eat elsewhere. Best ramen Ive ever had - loved the Enhancer options to customize. (And my son - a ramen junkie - was swooning). Bon U appetizer an amazing combination of flavors and textures. And the fusion donuts really work. Hats off to the chef and team on what is obviously a labor of love!

This the best noodles and doughnuts in town. The lunch portions are a great deal and will hit both the sweet and savory spots. The GOAT is great with home make pickled cucumber, hearty broth and Nori garnish with wow your palette. I really enjoy visiting to see what amazing and creative doughnuts they have in the doughnut display.
