Food: First of all the service and the restaurant decor is awesome, beautiful and modern with a Brooklyn meets Japan feel. Very busy on a Saturday night. They averaged about a 45 minute wait and we were seated within 10-15 minutes. The food just missed all the marks and left our cravings and appetite incomplete on so many points. The pork buns were OK; they needed to be softer and moist. The Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen was so unbalanced. The pork broth didnt lack spice but it seems to be that the flavors couldnt come together. Maybe it needed to be boiled longer and less black pepper and salt could have helped. Then the worst thing to order here is the pork curry. The curry alone ruined the dish with its chef boyardee resemblance. It was thick, sweet, and taste likes a bad marinara sauce. The only positive thing I could say about this dish is the pork was fried and taste great with the rice. Go to Curry-ya for the real experience. Brew: They had a really nice selection of Japanese craft beers. It ranged from your basic crisp Sapporo to rice lagers to a Hefeweizen style beer, and its all from Japan. Really cool place to explore Japans beers that you cant everywhere. I was really excited about Sapporo winter seasonal Stone Warrior Dark Ale but they didnt have it yet. Try it if you see it, its supposed to be awesome!

From the dozens of ramen places Ive been to in the city, this one surprisingly stands out in my mind. I was in good company and rather hungry, but overall I came in with a neutral feeling with zero expectations. Having been to the top ramen places in NYC paying $15 for a bowl, I was extremely happy with the quality and quantity of ramen and broth. The Spicy Tonkatsu, as most people will recommend, is delicious. I found it difficult to keep the broth for my second helping of noodles because it really had a nice taste to it when you add the fresh garlic. The broth is a solid 8 with a generous amount of garlic and pork flavor. The noodles are not really ramen noodles (as most ramen places dont use regular ramen anyway); Id say its closer to a somen thinner type of noodle. Pork is tender and flavorful, but egg/bamboo/nori seaweed was average. I think the whole thing pulled together well though and its on par with Naruto Ramen in Brooklyn. Best part about this is that its not yet super popular and I can still chow down on decently priced and delicious ramen near my apartment. Not to be racist, but I also find it odd being served ramen from white male waiters. It changes the experience, for some reason. *shrug* no big deal.

Im a fan of the Jin Ramen in Harlem, and so was super excited to check out the one in the UWS. I was disappointed. The uptown Jin Ramen served the best vegan ramen Ive ever tasted-- just overflowing with intense delicious flavor. But that same dish at this location tasted like a bowl of warm water. I begged for some more flavor, any more flavor, and it came back a little saltier. I could be convinced to try this place again-- I had expected to add it to my UWS go-to spots, and so I would be so happy to find out they were just having an off night last time-- but Im not hurrying back.

I was quite disappointed. I was told that the ramen is good but mine had the taste of a brown egg. I dont mean that the egg they gave with the ramen tasted like a brown egg (cus it was) - the whole ramen had that taste! It wouldve been nice to have some more flavors with my food. Except that, the atmosphere is nice, but the place is a bit crowded. They told us we had to wait 25 minutes for a seat, but we waited just 5 minutes until 2 bar seats were cleared. Prices are ok. I had better ramens for a lower price in other places. Overall - Im disappointed and probably wont go back.

So far I havent found a better cheese selection in Astoria than Sorriso. Their homemade mozzarella is sooo good. I have to say that this place keeps it real regarding anything Italian. I bought different types of sausage for gifts and everyone absolutely loved it. The pasta is also scrumptious. The best of all is that their employees are super friendly. They loved feeding us samples and recommending different products. The only downside is that it is cash only, but Im still going back with cash in hand.

Great place for a boozy sangria brunch but make sure to reserve far in advance! Service - Waiter seemed new and unfamiliar with the menu, and that may have contributed to the slow service. Bread - Freshly baked, and paired well with the strawberry cream cheese. Dough was nicely rolled, moist, and had a hint of sweet. Ropa Vieja - Meat was tender, and paired well with the egg and avocado. Loved the finishing touches with the crispy sweet potato shreds. Tacos - Great for sharing over sangrias!

I had the Salmon Teriyaki rice bowl and it was amazing! The atmosphere is nice but it is a bit loud because the place gets full. I would say when the place is packed its a bit annoying to have the waiters/waitresses constantly looking over your shoulder to see if you are done with your food. Although, I do understand there are people waiting to be seated so they have to try to move people along. I would recommend visiting the place when its less packed if that would annoy you.

Overpriced and super salty.... not the best Ive had in the city. They were very busy and the place is super crowded and there was barely enough of a gap for walking.... And some part of the service felt rushed...because they have more people waiting to be seated.... And the biggest issue is their bathroom....whoever designed this clearly didnt care about comfort....your butt is literally up against the wall.... now imagine how youre gonna wipe... smh..... horrible!

I had a Saturday lunch in this UWS joint. I tried the Sake Ikura Soba, cold soba noodle with sliced pickled daikon, topped with slices of salmon sashimi and dollop of ikura/roe. The salmon and ikura were amazing and fresh --- really brings out the refreshing flavor of cold soba. The cold broth was decent --- could use a little more taste. Service was friendly and fast. I give the food 3.5 * and service 4.5 *. Not a bad find for UWS.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ramen. The ramen game is a tough one these days, with fierce competition to produce the most authentic, or most extravagant bowl. Jin got the texture and consistency of the noodles right, and made a pretty tasty shoyu broth. A reasonably priced spot in the UWS with a good selection if Japanese beers. I need to try more sides before I give it a 5, but its a solid 4 at the moment.

My first Ramen House experience. I really liked the full flavor of the food and the warm, cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. The service department needs a lot of help. It took SO LONG to have my order taken and I was getting the impression that me and my friend were being ignored for not looking like one of their 6-figure customers. I would try it again in later in the year perhaps, but I wont be recommending it to others.
