I was in the San Jose area last week and had the chance of eating at Mio Vicino in Santa Clara. I couldnt be more happy with the food and the service. I am a vanilla eater so I go with a safe choice and ordered the Spaghetti. It was one of the best spaghetti dishes Ive ever had. In addition to the food the service was great. You can tell it is a staple of the community. The locals obviously love it. It was packed. Everyone was having a good time enjoying their dinner while socializing with each other. I found out there was another location in near by Saratoga so I went there the next night and ate at that location. Again, great food and great service!

This is one of those places we found quite by accident and are so glad we did! We often sit at the bar (there are only five seats there so it can be hard to get a place sometimes) and enjoy conversation with other patrons and the employees. You also get to watch the food preparation. The food is spectacular and the prices are very reasonable. They also have a great house wine that pairs great with their amazing food. Pasta, pizza, and salads; they have it all. I highly recommend Mio Vicino but hope that it doesnt get too crowded for me to get in!!!

Its rare that my family goes to eat somewhere and everyone Loves their food. But that was definitely the case here. Everything we ordered was delicious. The portions are generous and everyone was extremely satisfied. The desserts were superb. The creme brule was my favorite! The service was great especially one waiter in particular who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of! We will definitely be back the next time we are passing through.

Drove all the way from south San Jose to try this place because their website says lunch is 11-5pm. Got there at 4:15 and there was a hand written sign on the door saying that they were open at 5pm. After making the half hour trip back home I called to find out why they were not open until 5 and was told that yelp and google have the right time but the owner has not changed their own website. Should put some ergency in that task. Very dissappointed

Service was great, prices are fantastic, food was phenomenally delicious. Found this place by chance when traveling and now I wish they had a resturant back home! Shout out to one of the hosts Gerardo who was extremely helpful and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. I definitely plan to stop here again to eat whenever I am in the area. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. 5 stars :)

Went in solo for a late lunch and was greeted warmly and seated quickly. Although it was obvious that several of the patrons were regulars, I did not feel at all out of place. Warm bread and roasted garlic were immediately brought to the table. I chose the grilled scallop salad with spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, and corn. It was a deliciously healthy, but still hearty, meal. I highly recommend this Italian cafe.

i have been going to the place for over 5 yrs and I can not remember the last time I felt as welcomed as family and given the best service by all the staff . No matter the time I go service is the best that you will ever find any where and you can bet busy or not they will make you feel special every time . And the food is Great! I take everyone that I love to this place.

The Penne Marsala had barely any sauce, and service was very slow. My wife noticed it too but made sure I kept my mouth shut. By the time they added sauce and "re - tossed it", I had them just box it up because the wife and kids were all done and ready to go home. :-( Though its been a year since weve there, it was never like this.

This was my first time here. I really enjoyed my dinner. The bruschetta was very good as was the shellfish pasta and baked penned w/ sausage. It is a little pricier than we tend to spend but well worth it. Great service as well, I didnt have a coupon but I mentioned I saw a half off deal online and the server gave it to us anyway.

Great Place to have a family meal, quick bite, or business lunch. The food is awesome, the portions are plentiful, the servers are great, and if you are lucky Sean Caldwell, the owner, will be there and come by to say "Hello!" Dont hesitate to go seek out this little gem of a restaurant and dining experience.

A good cozy local Italian restaurant. Their food is good and very good service. I especially like their ciopinno which has just enough spice to the taste without over powering the broth. Its ciopinno comes with king crab legs in addition to the usual seafood. Also try their house made Tiramisu.

Mio Vicino has been my favorite place to eat for twenty years. It has become a part of what I have been doing because of the friendly service and very good food that they make every time. It really is like a restaurant version of the Old Cheers show where everybody gets to know your name.

I had the linguini with clam plate after a 40-minute wait on a Friday night. The clam was good, the linguini was not bad either. But the sauce they came in with was a little too tomato-y for my taste. The place is small, and seem to be very popular. Make reservations ahead.

Took wife here for a date night out. Very romantic atmosphere. Service from the time you are met at the door is fantastic. Food was exceptional and if you left hungry it was your own fault. Restaurant & restrooms were very clean. Expensive but worth it for date night

Rather good italian food. The best in the area from what Ive tried, but doesnt quite get to excellent italian for me. Id like to see some pasta focused less on a sauce and more on fresh veggies and they dont quite have much to offer there.

Small wait to get seated, was greeted with bread and garlic (so good). The food was delicious. The service was prompt and courteous. The New York Cheesecake and Brownie Gelato with a capuchino was outstanding. We will be back.

Neighborhood feel, all the staff was friendly, great wine list, and the food was absolutely amazing. Best antipasto platter Ive ever had. I had the cannelloni and that was also the best Ive ever had! Highly recommend.

Some dishes are perfect. Get the polenta with mushrooms. Take out is really fast and accurate. Staff is to the point. The pork chop though, they messed that one up. Used to be great. Lost its soul.
