This place is the real deal and offers the best Ramen in Richmond by far. They offer six different styles - Tenka (Tonkatsu/pork bone broth), Shio (sea salt flavored broth), Shoyu (soy sauce flavored broth), Spicy (Shoyu broth with added spicy paste), Veggie, and Miso (Shoyu broth with added Miso). All are delicious and expertly prepared. Their ajitsuke tamago eggs are to die for, and their chashu pork is amazing. They offer nori (seaweed) and bamboo shoots as optional extras, which are a must in my book. They also offer traditional Japanese style appetizers, including Gyoza and Takoyaki, among several others. In addition to standard soda offerings, they serve Ramune drinks, Sake, and several local and Japanese beers. Mr. Yutaka Nogami, the owner and head chef, is an awesome person and we Richmonders are lucky to have him here! He frequently checks in on customers and makes conversation, which is a rarity and speaks to his character. I sincerely hope Tenka is here to stay and will do my part to spread the word along with being a regular at this fine establishment!

I think the good features of this restaurant is that it offers authentic Japanese Ramen and small dishes. Their featured ramen noodles are okay in my opinion. We tried almost all their small dishes. They are pretty good. Price is good for a downtown location like this. Service is good too. One thing it may strike me wired is that they dont play Japanese music in store but American pop music...well no biggie tho. Id wish they could open an west end location with extended operation hour on Sunday.

Ive been once for comparison with Foo Dogs ramen. Foo Dog stomps this place when it came to the broth. The price a tad bit higher than foo dog if your a penny pincher. But I only been here once and any restaurant can have a day off even Michelen star ones. Will try again another time and satiate my parched ramen broth lubricated mouth. To all the ramen nut, "May the ramen broth bring you prosperity and happiness!"

The Ramen bowls are pricey, but delicious. The staff however, is amazing. Our wait staff was very friendly & attentive. After ordering what we believed was a vegetarian bowl, but immediately realizing the broth was meat based, they promptly replaced my order without hesitation. Based on the staff alone, we will visit Tenka Ramen again when in Richmond.

This is an amazing AUTHENTIC Ramen resturant. Delicious food with amazing atmosphere (also the music playing was pretty good). My only complaint is there arent any seafood/chicken Ramen options and the prices are a little steep. The service was amazing and even though I had the vegetable ramen it didnt lack in flavor. Ill be back lol

Food and price is good. VERY slow service, 15 min for drinks type slow, and wait staff that seems unfamiliar with Japanese cuisine and beverages. Owner is Japanese I believe and the food is pretty good. I have worked in Japanese restaurants and traveled to Japan a couple times so Im a little more critical, most will love this place.

Best noodle...al dente, not too soft. I had the vegi bowl and the waiter suggest that we have the miso paste also, and it makes our soup so good not bland. Spring roll is good with the Bull Dog sauce. Service is great, ask for Toni...very knowledge with the food. Will be back.

I grew up in Japan- and this place had a very cozy feel like some of the restaurants Ive been to. They also offered authentic drinks beyond japanese beer and Ramune. The menu isnt large, but it made it easier to choose.I would definitely visit here again.

The noodles and broth were amazing, but getting a grey egg with no remaining in it and thick cut beef was not. Grey broth with grey egg and grey beef. No color, a complete lack of bright flavors and fresh ingredients.
