Me name and my husband used to be the frequent visitors to Banjara Indian cuisine. We loved everything about the place : food, service and hospitality. We recommended this place to all of your frens and loved to take our frens and relatives there for dinner. However, what we went through last night was a entirely different story. We had our seat booked in advance for last night considering the fact that it was vday and lots of crowd might be there. We reached there at sharp 7.30 pm. No body bothered to greet on the door but we were okay with that as we could see good number of people waiting for their tables. We approached the VERY BUSY GUY on the bar counter and told us about our reservation. He took notice and after 10 mins we were taken to our seat. The person was quick to give us menus but that was it.We sat there like idiots for 30 mins but nobody came to take our order for appetizers or anything. Finally, after 30 mins a guy approached us and took our order and we were delighted. Another 30 mins went by and we did not even get our appetizer. At last, appetizer arrived and we thought at least after the wait of more than an hour at last we got SOMETHING to eat. Butwe didnt know it was all we are going to get at all.We never received our main course. We waited another 30 mins and now clock was showing 8.50. We had been sitting since 7.30 sharp. So at last we got up and decided to leave. We went to the bar counter again and asked the same VERY BUSY GUY to give us our bill for appetizers. Surprisingly, the guy was real quick in doing so. He never asked why were we leaving without food or apologized for delay and that was THE WORST. Needless to say my valentines day was completely ruined and because it was almost 9 pm, we could not get our dinner anywhere else. At last we had to settle for Pizza. I hope you can understand how disappointed and sad we were.

*Note I ordered delivery. I thought I was ordering from the restaurant in Leesburg, I have never tried this Indian restaurant before, only the one in Leesburg inside the hotel. I have to say... the food is better (and I love the food from where I normally order). The paneer was great and the butter chicken was seasoned perfectly. Food was delicious, and honestly, they would replace my normal place based on just that. The only issue I had was... delivery time (I realize I am further away than I thought and they did come before the expected delivery time which is great.. just some nights I will go for the 20 minute delivery time for pure convenience.) Price. About 50 dollars for 2 entrees and 1 order of garlic Naan. (This includes a 20% tip and the delivery fee). I feel like both entrees should have come with at least a piece of plain naan bread (Im obsessed with naan bread and was expecting at least 4 pieces... 2 plain and 2 purchased garlic naan) but we only got the 2 piece order. Which I guess is technically what was ordered. I just feel like a piece of naan and slightly larger portions are needed to justify the entree price... I do love the flavors and overall the food was great. Service was great.. my condo complex is a pain to navigate but they used the gate code and found my unit without the issue expected from a first time delivery. I will definitely be ordering from them again! Maybe for special occasions or just a little less frequently than our usual places (even if Id prefer their food!). Bottom line maybe eat in or carry out (and order a lot of naan hah) the food is good but delivery was almost 8 dollars for me with no left overs... (which is rare.. usually i have an extra 2+ meal for under 50 dollars). Worth a try and happy I ordered it.. husband and I both loved it and hes a picky chef and I have been to India haha.

Dont you dare to cater the food from Banjara. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone for dine-in or cater. I had bad experience for catering with Banjara. I catered food for my Sons first birthday. Everything is horrible except samosa. I ordered food for 40 people and they just delivered the Naan for around 20, I did not notice when they delivered it but once people started eating it was done in no time it was really embarrassing situation. when I called the Owner Nanda, he promised to deliver the Naan in 15 minutes as I was living near by but no one came for 40 minutes and I called again and guess what they delivered Naan in next 10 minutes but it was cold like ice which you cant even break it. Biryani was also horrible, it was like you are eating uncooked rise. 80% of food was wasted as food was bad quality. I am never-ever going back to this restaurant.

I dont know how people even swallow the food at Banjara, the quality is not even comparable to decent and hygienic. If at all Banjara has developed a good image, this guy named RAJ is surely doing his best in order to annihilate it. I have had 2 bad experiences with them. This time we picked up chicken chilly as I thought we should give another try. Got pieces of stones in place of chicken, it was like immediate vomit for me and my wife. And when I left a strong message, this guy "RAJ" SAYING THAT HE WAS THE OWNER, TELLS ME AND I QUOTE: THIS IS HOW WE ARE, DO HELL WITH YOU. I am going ahead to file a complaint with the Virginia Department of Health and Safety. And I would see to it that this is given an immediate attention by inspection. I still have the dish saved. I would suggest not to waste your time, money and stomach at such a place.

Ordered the Non-Veg appetizer - first of all, it was not as described in the menu. Second - the chicken pakora was just fried with some coating, the chicken 65 was just fried colored chicken and the lamb tikki was some ages old ground lamb lumped into a ball. After complaining about the dish, the waiter just took the dish away, offered if I wanted something else instead... as I had already lost my appetite, did not get anything. Dinner was another story, the paneer tikka was Ok but the kadhai vegetable was just big pieces of vegetables put together in some scanty sauce. We couldnt even finish the food... it was very poor. When it was check time, even though it was taken away, we were charged for it. Just an overall terrible experience... definitely a BIG no no, Never again.

We went to Banjara for dinner and had the butter chicken and vegetable birani. The butter chicken portion size was tiny, and it was not the typical marinated chicken of most Indian restaurants, but a chicken breast cut into strips and put in the butter sauce. The birani was greasy and had very few vegetables. There was incense burning in the front foyer that was very strong--you could taste the incense while you were eating. I do not recommend this place. The service was friendly which is why I rated 2 stars. Some of the other reviews were of the buffet. Its possible that the buffet is cheap and is good for $10, but if you go for dinner, you will be disappointed.
