I have extensively traveled the regions of this great country, eating where ever looked appealing, To some northerners, El Toro, is a run down shack/adobe building, some might think it is not clean just because of the dark atmosphere and the cracked, painted walls with a street like ambiance. In my journeys through the southwest states and Mexico, Ive found that El Toro, is a true, high end quality restaurant. They are fast, very accurate with orders, and the most friendly of any Mexican restaurant I have ever tried. They offer some of the best quality menu items, that you dont find in hometown restaurants in other places, fit for a King as to say. The waiters are very generous with their approach to each customer, the language barrier is a bit harsh to some, but if you know their language, and some of their ideas, ordering is very easy. Generally, once you order, you get the normal bowl of fried chips and sauce, which is free, and replaced as soon as you need more. Drinks are the same, if you get low on a drink, there is a waiter there, even if its not the one serving you, asking if you need more, AND THEY REMEMBER WHAT YOU HAVE. The food, hot, savory, with all the good flavors of a true Mexican meal. Forget what you know about American Mex food like Taco Bell, or fast food look alikes. Spicy food, is not necessarily a Mexican delight, good rich, earthy foods however, are what youll find in this great establishment. The price vs quality and quantity. They charge a very fair price for all of their meals, and everything they make is better quality than most people would pay for at a inner city expensive restaurant. Please make this eatery a destination if you ever choose to visit, or pass through the area. Good people, great food, at a better price. Remember.....If the parking lot is full, there are still tables available!!!

Well most of the time I truly enjoy eating here, tonight was not one of those nights, it took forever to get our food because the waiter was too busy flirting with me and my other 3 married friends to bother asking what we wanted to eat. When we finally got chips and salsa a fly came out in the salsa, again took probably 10 minutes to replace it, the manager ended up having to take out order. When they decided to ask if we wanted refills i didnt get the right drink, asked to have it replaced and still didnt get the right drink. Highly unsatisfied this evening

One of the best places to get Mexican in the area! I came in hearing good things about it, and decided to get a sampler and a small margarita, pretty good way to gauge a Mexican restaurant. I didnt taste the alcohol at first, but it sure hit me later! They also have given us hot fresh tortilla chips,and the beef used wasnt greasy at all like some other places Ive been. Great place to get some quality Mexican food and alcohol!

Coming from south Texas, I didnt expect much however I was pleasantly surprised. Sweet tea was fresh and iced cold, food was delicious and chips were crisp with great salsa. Ill be back for sure.
