20% service charge automatically by credit card pay? Is it American rule? Cannot believe they charged 20% service tip automatically during Outdoor Show. I asked the waitress the reason for it & she distastefully told me it is the American rule & to ask the owner as it is her order. If they deserved, I would happily pay for it but it was the worst service ever had. They treated us as a pushover.

We went to Jang Soo Jang several times a year at its old location and loved it, but since their move to a new location, the quality and service have come down a bit. The service wasnt quite as attentive the last couple times and they forget to give you a spoon even when you order a soup. It also makes me a little sad that theyve dispensed with metal chopsticks which would be more authentic and environmentally friendly than the disposable wooden ones. Theyve also become less trusting with customers cooking their own meat. If you order Sam gyap sal, theyll still bring it to you on the burner but theyve already cooked it. Cooking your own was half the fun. Their Deok Bokki is more of a soup than Ive seen at other Korean places around. I kind of like it as Deok with gochu jang paste texture rather than a broth type soup, but thats just a personal preference of mine. The quality of the Folsom bibimbap was also down. It just didnt seem as fresh. Overall still good, with room to improve. Love the new location. More spacious and modern.

Tried this place for dinner after eating at Korea House for lunch. As the other reviews mention, the food really is delicious! I am not sure they gave me the correct bill though, as I only ordered 불고기 and 떡볶이 (beef and rice cakes) but it was $34. In any case, the food was certainly great, but I was expecting a little lower bill given the other reviews, even granted that I couldnt finish all the rice cakes and now feel like I am going to explode from eating really triple what I should have. I may go there again, but if youre looking for tasty and cheaper price I think Korea House is a better option, especially since they are only about 2-3 minutes away from each other. My money is still on Cafe Seoul even beyond Jang Soo Jang and Korea House, however.

OVERPRICED. I ordered a tofu soup, two main courses (BBQ ribs and pork) and an appetizer which ended up being $78. I was way too generous at giving tips considering the amount of services I actually received. The food was alright but I am pretty sure it does not live up to that price. Also, the chef is pretty stingy on the amount of food they serve. A kimchi pancake for $13? Come on?! If you are about to make similar mistake by going there, please DONT come to this place and find somewhere else with more reasonable pricing, better food and services. All in all, dont make the same mistake I made. It was a terrible terrible costly mistake!

I think this place was OK, but definitely nothing special. They have a decent selection of "standard" Korean dishes, and my group tried several of them and found the quality to be average at best (and a good bit lower in a few cases). Prices also seem a little high for what you get (e.g. $10 for an appetizer of 10 small boiled dumplings that probably cost about $1 at wholesale). Service was fine, nothing particularly good or bad to report. I wish I could offer a suggestion for a better Korean restaurant in Utah, but of the several Ive tried, most of them feel pretty similar to this.

We visited the restaurant on a Friday afternoon. It is nested in a strip mall. Without a GPS, we would not have found it. Here is a list of good and bad. Good: Decent food; reasonably fast; decent space; and reasonably clean. Bad: Food is not the best in comparison with other Korean restaurants in town; service was slow in responding to our additional request for water; portion is slightly smaller than expectation; and floor can be slightly shaky and noisy.

I love the bbq and side dishes, tatse like actual Korean food and I love that! The wait time even on the slowest day is at least 25 mins. The server usually doesnt come back to check up on you after getting your drinks and food, sometimes the older gal will even come and hint she wants you to leave. Go for the food, not for the service. It is a bit pricey for some, but I love Korean BBQ and Ill easily throw done $20+ for an order for myself.

My family visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon. The waitress never cared our sitting in almost for 10 minutes while pretending to be busy. We were arriving here after 5 hour drive from Yellowstone. Dont visit this restaurant. When we decided to leave without ordering anything (they didnt even come to us for ordering for 10 minutes), the waitress just said "if you want, leave.." Ridiculous !! Service is totally bad !!!!

Used to be my favorite Korean go to, until the lady forced me to pay her a $20 tip from THE LAST TIME my family and I ate their. I quote(in a strong Korean accent), "I remember you from last time". Never been so upset at a Korean. *Growls* Hella overpriced but the food tasted so good I thought it was worth it. Now its starting to make sense why everytime we eat there, we are always the ONLY ones in there.

The food is okay, but the service is horrible!!! I was completely ignored for ten minutes waiting at the entrance when the staff were aware I was there. No one cared to say anything. One waitress actually passed by me twice and did not ask whether I was going to sit down or order take out. When I was finally helped, the waitress was so rude and arrogant. I feel unwelcomed there and will not go back.

If you ask any Korean what Korean restaurant they go to, the only place we usually eat at is Jang Soo Jang. My oma wont eat anywhere else and probably has the most authentic dishes and not the Americanized dishes you see at other Korean restaurants in Utah, its a family favorite. I agree prices are high but every Korean restaurant in Utah is and you usallly wont find any cheaper

Definitely not a fancy joint, but the food is very authentic. Right on par with what youd get fed in a Korean home. Every time were in Salt Lake we stop to eat here. My wife always gets the Bulgogi (if you havent tried Korean before, this is the dish to get in my opinion). Always pleased, and the service has always been very good for us. It is a bit pricey but worth it.
