I previously had a five star review on this restaurant, but after my experience yesterday, I have to downgrade my review to a 1 because of the terrible service experience we had. Ive frequented this restaurant for almost 10 years, but after my experience yesterday I will not be returning to the Flying Sumo. The restaurant is currently running a 1/2 special for their slow season, and this is the reason we decided to drive from SLC to Park City. We were a party of 2 and a baby, and even with the special we spent $100. When we received our check, the server informed us that due to the special, they auto-grat the check. What she failed to mention is that they auto-grat the check at the original price, so our server got a 34% tip in comparison to what we paid!!!! Her gratuity would have already been $20 on the discounted price(we would have tipped 20%), so I find it a bit outrageous that I was paying your server $35 when it probably only took her 20 minutes to cater to our table. Finally, it really frustrates me that you want your customers to pay auto-grat when its your restaurants promotion. Youve a lost a 10 year customer because you have greedy servers.

Service was so horrible I dont trust that what I ate was not tampered with. The place was empty and when we told the gentleman we had a coupon, he was immediately disgusted with us. 20 minutes to get a seat. The place was virtually empty. BTW Where we sat was empty the whole time we waited. The waiter was so super rude that when he finally got our drinks out and they were wrong I just drank it. Of course it stayed empty the rest of our visit. Just to top things off when it was time to get our check he kept it in his hands and talked with the sushi chef for what seemed at least 15 minutes and kept smirking at us cause he knew we were waiting. Aside of being a total douche, I suggest the guy take a bath and not drink on the job, what a slob. If you go to this restaurant you either drunk, on drugs, or believe in rewarding horrible service.

Ive been going to the Flying Sumo for a few years now. Their sushi is always so delicious. My favorites include the Money roll and the Surf & Turf roll. The only thing I have to complain about though is the service. The sushi chefs are always on top of their game, but the servers tend to ignore you for long periods of time. It took us almost an hour to get our bill after we finished eating. I had an instance where the server only came once to ask if I wanted anything to drink and never returned until it was time for the bill. Im willing to let that go though because this is my favorite sushi restaurant.

Went with the wife for our anniversary. Havent been to to many sushi places around this area so chose this one based on reviews. It was a great choice. The service was very good for the two of us. They were pretty busy when we went and still made it to the table regularly with drinks and what not. The price was good as well for what we ordered. We plan to be back here in the future.

Great food and the sushi was fresh. The curry chicken was okay, could have had a little more kick to it. Rolls where nice size and the menu offered common sense rolls, not like some of the other sushi establishments, which have too many rolls with who knows what put into them! Staff was very friendly and our waitress was very attentive.

I dont know why someone would rate this restaurant 1 star but I have gone there dozens of times over the past few years. This is my wifes and I Friday night date-night place to go. In fact, its the only pace we go to eat on our dates during non-ski season when sushi is 50% off.

We ordered 4 rolls, all of them were bland and mediocre. Our waitress was absolutely average but they automatically added in 18% which is way more than we would have tipped her. Overpriced and the quality of the sushi was on par with a grocery store.

Tons of different rolls. Get the sunset roll. Its delicious. Very talented and friendly sushi chefs. Service always nice. A real gem of park city. Also, sushi is often half price, but that doesnt mean it is not high quality!

Awesome sushi. A little pricey, but not bad for Park City. We hit a %50 off rolls night. We ordered 6 rolls, all of them excellent. Saki was also good. I recommend the spicy tuna roll. It was amazing.

This place is amazing! Great look. Amazing taste! And good servers. If your in park city wanting some sushi this is the place. The food tastes very fresh, and they have some fun flavors to try out.
