This experience was definitely enough to make me NEVER come back. I had herd of this place from some friends, said it was good food. So I decided to take a large group of friends(about 13) as a special dinner. We got there at 9 on the dot, which we knew we only had an hour to eat. The server looked like a college student, she was very rude, I guess she didnt like the fact that it was so many of us because ever since we showed us it was nothing but nasty faces and bad attitude, it seemed that everything bothered the young women. We ordered by 9:15. @ 9:35 she started bringing some plates out one by one. by the Time that she brought the last one out it was 9:45. By that time some of us needed refills, when she came back out she said we couldnt have any more soda nor lemonade, she offered water. I asked why we couldnt get soda and she said that at 9:45 they shut down the soda machines every night. I though it was ridiculous since we berly got our food, yet with attitude she said there was nothing she could do. Another Asian young women came out to see if something was wrong, we explained. She said she would go fix the problem, 5 mins later she came back and said the same thing. No soda. What business does that specially when their almost full house? so by 10 they were asking if we wanted the bill because they were closing. So rude and ridiculous. NEVER going back again.... by the way, the food wasnt that good, Their idea of Las vegas rolls were something raw that I had never seen before, not tasty at all.

The Sashimi was the first thing that appalled us. They were so huge that it looks like they were chopped by an axe. Arent they suppose to be delicately cut, thin slice of fresh raw fish? But what we got is simply a disgrace to the name Sashimi. Call it Jumbo Big Raw fish or whatever but not Sashimi please! And the service! This is the worst service I received of my four years stay in Tucson. They close at 10 pm on Saturday night and the place was still half full around 9 pm. But staffs just walked around replacing soy sauce or whatever on our table in a very rude way. i.e, grabbing a soy sauce from over your shoulder without at least say "EXCUSE ME" and dropping new soy sauce on our table and quickly went away like bombarding our table without any words or explanations. I finally asked one of them what they are doing. And the staff who just bombarded us with soy sauce basically looked at me in deep confusions and said he didnt understand he was just doing his job and its a soy sauce. When I explained to him its simply IMPOLITE to grad something from our table over one of my female friends shoulder and drop something we didnt even ask for on our table (on the edge of the table), he looked at me as if I am so ridiculous and said: Oh My God... I finally gave up and said fine THANK YOU and he walked away. No apology, nothing. In conclusion, if you are looking for Americanized Japanese foods and ATROCIOUS service, this is the right place.

We had our Fathers Day lunch at Shogun and we picked it over other nearby sushi restaurants because of the cute booths with the beaded curtains. The service while we were there was consistently poor throughout our lunch. It seemed as though our server had never been trained on how to serve a table. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We ate at Sushi on Oracle a few days earlier and the service there was excellent. Aside from the dismal service at Shogun the sushi itself was sub-par. Mine was so loosely wrapped that each piece fell apart before I could eat it. The tempura tasted like the oil was old. The broccoli in my dads soba was rubbery. How do you mess up broccoli? My fiance ended up with a stomach ache for the rest of the day; he had the tempura. Its a shame because the atmosphere there was so interesting. Sidenote: the cute fish in the fish tank were swimming the in filthiest tank I have ever seen. Poor fish. I dont understand how this place could have such a high average rating. We are definitely never going to eat at this place again. There are plenty of other sushi places nearby.

I go to Shogun about every week or two. Unlike most sushi restaurants in Tucson, the two head chefs, who alternate nights of the week, are Japanese. The pieces of fish on the nigiri are huge (one piece is two big bites), for a reasonable price, and the daily roll specials make rolls cheap too. I can get quite full for $12-15 here, which I cannot say about any other sushi restaurant at which Ive eaten. Its a better deal than one of the all-you-can-eat places, since the quality is better and theyre not trying to load you up on rice. The fish is good, and the rolls are tasty - theyre not quite at the level of refinement of a really nice sushi place, but theyre quite good. I almost gave this review 4 stars due to service. However, thats mostly due to a high turnover rate in their waitstaff - there are constantly new confused kids. I put the 5th star back on when realizing that the service is consistently good eating at the bar, and the waitstaff are flexible and friendly enough that you can bug a passing waitress/waiter, so a table should be fine too.

Yesterday we were there and Ive been coming here for 30-plus years but last night the cuts were so thin you can see through them. I called the owner over and he said they were generous proportions and that is what they are known for I told him yes that is what you are known for and that is why we are here but the quality has gone so far down. I was there a couple months ago for my sons graduation party same situation bad service food was okay then but then the owner decided to give away All My Sons balloons from the graduation because we left them there and I called an hour later and he had already given them away. So after last night it tarnished their reputation with me and myself and my family will no longer be coming here. I dont know if its new owners or if the owner turned it over to his son but it is absolutely horrible the service is horrible. Never never again will we go here. $70 for just two people... WASTE OF MONEY!!!

We were there on 7/30/11 at 1:30 PM there was no one to greet us we waited for 5 minute before this girl came to us she told us we had to wait for 15 minutes to be sitted we left I could have waited if this person has been more polite her name is Angie and explained to us at at the least apologize no you could tell that we were bothering. Obiously this Angie does not know where her paycheck comes from. We called after we left to complain and ask for the manager Angie answer the phone and said she is the manager, again no apology all he try to tell me is how restaurant is falling apart too many customer and not enough employees, I told I didnt. Care what her problems were if you cant handle it close the restaurant Im a paying customer and deserve good service, well you just lost my family and friends business.
