OVERVIEW - 4.2 I now have been here a couple of times after passing by the Urgent Care (which is next door). My understanding is that this sushi place has been through a few different owners and managers, and that they had started over once again a few months ago. I dont know if that is an indication of anything. LOCATION - 5 Pretty easily seen from a moving vehicle as it is along Main Street and the corner of the block. PRICE - 3 The price is probably my only complaint I have about this place. I had been purchasing their signature sushis just to find out they do have cheaper sushi rolls, and the quality does indeed diminish with the price. PRODUCT/SERVICE - 4 The signature sushi rolls are actually pretty good (well, the first time I had it was, amazing). I would suggest the honeymooners sushi roll. POINTERS/PERKS - 4 I would suggest getting it to go. That way you can avoid the tip. I also noticed that the guy making the sushi wasnt oriental. (Not that big of a deal, but I would think authentic sushi would be made by someone oriental). EMPLOYEES - 5 Both times weve been served the waiters have been amazing. Definitely a friendly service.

Like Amy Davis and Pat Mortensen, I had THEE WORST experience of my life, trying to use a coupon on Valentines Day!! We called earlier in the week for reservations, and talked with the gal about the coupon. NO mention that you couldnt use it on Valentines Day when we reserved. Drive all the way to restaurant from South Jordan at 4:00, only to see a note on the door that they dont accept coupons that day. SO IRRITATED, and they said it was on the coupon. It was NOT, and they could not find it either. One guy just laughed and sneered, like South Jordan is only a 10 minute drive, NO big deal. It is Valentines Day and all restaurants are booked People!! No rhyme or reasoning with them. I understand rules, but when business owners dont do THEIR part, then it is OKAY to make an exception, so you can have a raving fan customer. THAT is what couponing is for. Instead, you get someone that HATES your restaurant, and your business practices, and will NEVER patronize!! I got a refund of the coupon, so Tokyo doesnt get ONE dime of my money. From the looks of other reviews, it is just as well. Too bad, we like these types of places!!!

I stop at Tokyo about every time I go down to Utah County. Overall I have been there at least 10 times since it was opened. I prefer the hibachi meals but I also like the sushi. The New York Strip Steak and Salmon with noodles is probably my favorite. The sushi is pretty decent for Utah. Dont expect high quality authentic rolls because 1. You are in Utah and 2. You are not paying for that kind of quality. The service for me has always been excellent! I see poor reviews of service and have no idea how that is possible unless the reviewer was being rude or impatient. The atmosphere is small but nicely decorated. The price is excellent for what you get! Hibachi is definitely one of the cheapest I have come across here in Utah. For that price you get more than enough food and the quality exceeds the price. The Sushi for the price as mentioned above is on par. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. For the rest of the negative reviewers....Dont go! That just means more room for me and my friends. Im sure the staff doesnt mind either because it sounds like all you want to do is complain anyway.

I cannot even express how completely unimpressed I was with this place. My husband and I found a Groupon and made a reservation for Valentines Day. They should have just said when we called that they dont take reservations...because they definitely didnt honor it. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation, and we sat and waited for a long time as tons of other people without reservations were seated before us. Then right before we were seated, we asked about how we should use our Groupon. They told us that they werent taking Groupons on Valentines day even though we had already purchased it. (Definitely not allowed according to Groupon btw.) That was not mentioned on the groupon or anywhere on the website. (Oh, and speaking of their website, their prices are way outdated on there. Its actually about $5 more than it says online.) We ended up just leaving before we even started dinner...I will never give any of my money to these dishonest people.

I have been to Tokyo 3 times and for the most part I enjoy the atmosphere and food. My friend and I decided that we would try the endless sushi lunch and I will NEVER be returning. Not only do they charge if you do not eat all of your sushi but they also have the worst service I have ever experienced. I used to waitress and there is no excuse for the laziness of the server. She told me that I HAD TO ASK for the soup, salad and edamame that came with my meal and even when I did she didnt bring the edamame until I asked again. My friend waited for 15 minutes before she refilled her water and there were only 3 tables occupied. I also had to ask to get more sushi and I waited for a good 15 minutes before she came back for me to actually ask her. Overall I am never going back to Tokyo for lunch; this experience has ruined my fondness for this restaurant.

All Rice No Substance! Ive been to Tokyo 3 times now. The first time we went the sushi was pretty good. The service as mentioned is terrible. We now know the 1 waitress for 8 tables thing is the norm. Expect 1 girl to be running around the whole night and be ready to feel bad for her and be mad at the owner having it that way. We went a second time and had the exact same experience. We went last night for my birthday and it will be the last time we ever go. This time it was because of the sushi... It was not the same as before, they are now PACKING rice in their sushi and have very little else in them. I looked at the other tables and saw that is was not just ours. I can put up with some poor customer service at an asian returant if the food is good, but now the SERVICE is BAD and the FOOD is WORSE!

The food was OK, but ridiculously overpriced. The service was absolutely terrible. The waitress basically ignored our table. I got the all you can eat sushi, everyone else at the table got hibachi meals. Everyone else was almost done eating before I even got my food. Then after the meal was over the restaurant wouldnt take my "city deals" coupon because they said I didnt print the right kind of receipt. I had simply pressed "print" when I was prompted to do so on the city deals website. They became increasingly rude as I attempted to appeal my case. So I ended up paying for a $10 city deal coupon that was worthless and my meal. I will never NEVER eat there again. The food was mediocre and expensive, the service was slow and lazy, and the staff was incredibly rude. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
