Praneeth Madushan
Im Praneeth Madushan from Sri Lanka.I had lunch at Shoga, Orem on 12/10/2016. Im a buddhist.I strongly discredit using the pictures of load Buddhas statute on front page of your menus and at entrance of the restaurant. We dont like to see any pictures the Buddha, the founder of the great religious philosophy of Buddhism to use as marketing, sales purposes or to attract customers. Please urge your restourants managers to take actions to remove the stickers as insulting to Buddhism here. And indeed worried about what to include such pictures except for religious purposes. Do you accept that people use pictures/ statues of jesus christ or any other founders of religion as marketing, sales or attracting people or any other business purposes. The answer is "No".Because we respect our religion. Otherwise. I will try to take an legal/ Court action against the restourant about insulting buddhism.

The food was good, but a very interesting experience. Our friend happened to be by the door where server enters waiting for his check and the owner looks at him and says what the f*** are you doing. And we were very confused and asked him if thats how he treats his customers and all he said was f*** off. Then my friend still very confused said thats not how you treat customers. And he stood up and asked if he wanted to fight. Us not being very happy decided to leave which he then proceeded to come outside for a smoke and still wanted to fight. Sad that the food was good but the management was terrible. Very deserving of a one star to be treated that way, never going there again.

Great sushi bar gruff knowledge talented sushi chefs. Very fresh ahi and Uni was fresh and the best consistency outside of LA or Aspen sushi bars. Wife thought the miso Raman one of the best she has ever had. Wonderful edamame pretty good selection of good sake and standard Japanese beer with efficient and attentive service bordering on excellence with a tad bit of over (Japanese) attention. What ah I could get give it a 4.5 stars as it was excellent but just not as epic as the book g boys in NY LA Aspen but close and in the end run much more quaint and some sincere will be back.

Ken Wheeler My two sons took me out for Fathers Day luncheon. It was so good I asked if we could have another helping of one sushi roll in particular. For my birthday my daughter agreed to take back again for another lunch I enjoyed it so much. My boys go there a lot. We are all fans of good sushi and I am pleased to have found a place in town we like so much. We used to go to another restaurant but I think they changed owners and its no longer as good as used to be. We have tried several others in town but they have not been up to our standards.cant wait to go back.

We called in at 10:30pm to see if they were still open, called back 5 minutes later and some guy answers the phone all upset that were coming in 20 minutes before they close. We get there, werent greeted. Then some blond waitress comes over and pours water spilling it all over the table and floor because shes upset that were in sooooo late. We order quickly and we were brought three rolls instead of the two that we ordered. The spicy tuna was mushy and almost warm. The spider roll was decent, but really sub-par.Wont ever go back.

Our server was Brittany who was very incapable of serving, (maybe she just hated us for not ordering drinks but when you only have coke products, why would we want that?) She was lame, period. Food was alright, however, they dont have much selection. Everything is teriyaki and it tastes like hogiyogi teriyaki sauce. Oh yakisoba was alright, nothing to rave about. If youre a sushi eater this place is aight, but if you call yourself a Japanese food eater, get a real deal some where else...aint worth your money.

Best sushi place in Utah. I dont care what anyone in SLC says, the sushi chefs at Shoga know their stuff and the atmosphere and cozy environment makes this place #1 in my book. The prices are right, the sushi is on point. All-you-can-eat places can SUCK IT! I would take 1 roll from Shoga over 50 rolls from any other sushi dive. The chefs remember you, they are talkative, they always have good music and good games on TV. Shoga #1. End of story.

the service was great but the experience was horrendous. During a payment, my friends card was declined, so he decided to talk to the waitress to clear it out but the owner treated my friends and I with disrespect and told us F*** OFF, and even provoked us to fight. A simple misunderstanding was turned into a horrible experience. Definitely never going there again. The owner wad a douchebag

Tried a few different Japanese and Sushi places in the area. This one seems to be not only great, but consistently great! You know how it is, some places are good one time but the next they are mediocre at best. This place is always good, every time we have been. We have been many times. So much that some of the waiting staff recognize us by name when we come in.

I loved mu experience in Shoga, the service was excellent and the restaurant is clean. My food was well prepared, and tastefully displayed. My favorite was the Tuna appetizer. If you are looking for traditional Japanese food, this is the place to go to. You get what you pay for. The Age-Dashi Tofu is also well prepared with mmmmmm sauce.. its just soooo good.

The sushi here is very good order the citrus roll and it tasted very fresh. I also had a playboy roll here, which is one of my favorites, and it was also really good and fresh tasting. The ramen wasnt my favorite but was still quite good. The one item I really enjoyed was the tempura calamari, it was really good and well done.

All of the entrees are huge portions, so youll never leave hungry. As far as sushi goes, most rolls have crab salad or cream cheese in them, which I very much dislike. I dont think those belong in sushi, but thats just personal preference. Luckily, the fish tastes fresh and is delicious, so I still enjoy most of the rolls.

We recently returned to Shoga (moved out of state several years ago) and found it to be as delicious as ever. This place is SO GOOD. Weve yet to find better sushi elsewhere and look forward to returning here every chance we get. If youre looking for a suggestion, try the Citrus roll, you wont be disappointed.

I cant believe I went to the same place as all the glowing reviews on here. Ill be short: 6 rolls/$55 for mushy, unsatisfying sushi. Id much rather have gone to all you can eat Sushi Ya down the street a block or two for much higher quality sushi with a much better selection of rolls.

I have never had a bad experience coming to Shoga. I am very particular about the sushi that I eat, and I consider Shoga to be as good as any place in Orem or Salt Lake City. My wife doesnt care for sushi, so she orders something else off the menu. She enjoys coming as much as I do.

Good sushi and good ramen as well. Dont skip the spicy tempura calamari as a app. Delicious!!! Weve been twice and service is always good. It gets busy on the weekend, and know that there is a small waiting space. But good food usually comes at a price. Im willing to wait for it.
