me and My girl friend are fans of Japanese food and sushi, but being we live in the middle of the New Mexico desert, good sushi is hard to find. Our old favorite spot was Aqua reef, but we grew tired of the same old rolls and dim sum. we looked online and saw dispiriting reviews on the few other choices of Japanese restaurants in town. the only one that had decent reviews besides aqua reef was Tokyo sushi, this restaurant had opened a little over a year ago and we had never gotten a chance to check it out till nao. the service was friendly and the atmosphere was slightly dingy but welcoming. The menu is extensive and has over a page and 1/2 of just sushi roll alone as well as bento boxes, Udon noodles, fried rice and noodle plates of nearly every variety. We where overwhelmed and asked our server for more time twice before we made our choices. Thinking that the portions would be small we each ordered a bento and 2 sushi rolls. We then received our miso soup and salad, The miso was passable and the salad was good (and im not a fan of the mayo salad at these places.) Our meals eventually arrived and it boggled our minds!! everything was huge! the sushi rolls were a meal themselves, but the bento was a meal in its entirety. Everything as fresh, from the rice to the fried vegetables to the crab, scallops and shrimp in my bento. The rolls were Delicious, if rolled a little to softly (they fell apart if u where not careful) but that is nit picking. The only thing about the whole experience that was disappointing was the wait, they are kinda short staffed right nao and it took a while to take and recive our order. The waitress apologized twice for the wait on our food and the rolls but made it up to us by treating us to their specialty mochi Ice cream on the house. We left smiling and left them a big tip. We plan to go back again and again to get more of the wondrous sushi, bento boxs and friendly if slow service. 5 out of 5 stars.

Only thing good in this place is the service. Food sucks. I ordered seafood combination bento box. In the menu descriptions it was describe, combination with shrimp, scallop, and crab. When I got my order this is what exactly in the plate "4 small shrimp, scallop is the size of green peas that I have to dig to the whole entered plate to find it, crab is imitation crab. No where in the menu description it sad seafood combination with imitation crab. The whole plate is swimming with teriyaki sauce. I ordered teriyaki beef for my daughter and its more teriyaki mushroom, it was overwhelmingly pack with mushroom. My husband ordered calamari katsu is the only one come out okay. I also ordered spider roll that cost about $11.00, it was the most disappointed sushi that I ever since, it was the most skimpy sushi I ever had spider rolls come with 6 pieces the size of quarter. I didnt bother to complaint about the food. I just said to myself "never again, will I go to this place". It was a waste of $70.00.

The atmosphere needs slight improvement (which I would gladly help with for free sushi!) But the sushi created by Mr. Kim is beyond fantastic! Every roll Ive ever had here has left me with mouthgasms and amazing flavors lingering. I love this place! Highly reccomended restaurant for anyone who loves sushi. The bento boxes and yakisoba are also very good.

The best sushi Ive had in Las Cruces, bar none. Their rolls are delicious, as is pretty much everything on the menu. Its also cheaper than most of the other sushi places in town. The bento boxes are really good as well (and come with so much food). The wait staff are sometimes not as attentive as they could be, but its never a major issue.

Great service, very friendly. Not great sushi. It was small, quarter size. I ordered the spicy tuna. They use sriracha sauce to make it spicy. I did enjoy the squid salad, though. I would probably try something different if I went there again.

Im assuming this place used to be some kind of old diner. It has that feel but retrospected into a sushi joint. I dig the atmosphere. Sushi has been excellent as well as service every time I have eaten there. Will go back again!

They are awesome. Fresh food, friendly staff. They have a good selection. Only down side is the Sushi Chef doesnt like to get creative. Everyone I have taken there loves the place. Its a must try for Sushi lovers in the area.

Rice in the sushi rolls was quite dry, flavorless. The fish was also flavorless. I would NOT return here -- just not worth it. It may be the best sushi in town - - but unfortunately that is not saying much.

This place can be cheap or can be expensive. The lunch specials are great. By far the best Sushi in town. They have mochi! Mochi is an amazing desert that you need to try. Treat yourself right and eat here

My boyfriend and I LOVE Tokyo Sushi. All of their rolls are very good. The jalepeno roll and salmon roll are great. Also, try a bento box! The chicken teriyaki is awesome. Best sushi in Las Cruces.

Really good sushi, and the owner is incredibly kind! Gave us a free sushi roll, which was super amazing. Finally found a good Japanese place in Cruces. So much better than Sakura!

Service was good. Bbq came out cold. If youve ever had good sushi, dont order it from here. Salmon was still frozen in middle. It was sketchy.

If youve had good sushi, you will be disappointed. Slow service. Bad food. Fun for the novelty of the bento box, buts thats it.

My favorite sushi bar in Las Cruces. Prices are good and so is the sushi. The Cherry blossom roll is probably my top pick.

Bibimbop was delicious. Philly roll was great. Service was fast and the atmosphere was pretty average for an Asian eatery.
